Introduction : Summary including the research problem, provide background of the problem

and its significance, describe key points/main issues and explain the scope (deliverable and
non-deliverables of the project).

• Literature Review: A literature review represents a study of current research/study on the

topic of the project. This includes

1. Existing theories about the project idea, which are accepted universally?

2. Books written on the topic, both generic and specific.

3. Research done in the field usually in the order of oldest to latest.

4. Challenges being faced and ongoing work, if available.

A literature review in a project proposal is that section which shows the various analyses and
research made in the field of your interest and the results already published, considering the
various parameters of the project and the extent of the project. It is the most important part of
Project proposal/report as it gives a direction in selected project idea and latest research work
on that concept. When you write a literature review in respect of your project idea, you must
write the research work done by various researchers - their methodology (abstract) and the
conclusions they have arrived. You should also give an idea on how this research work has
impacted your project work. A literature review must contain at least 7 - 10 published
research work and comparative analysis with respect to selected project idea.
