CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

5.1 Findings

The result of the study revealed the following findings:

1. On constructing features that aid in the early detection of serious skin diseases,

as well as to design and develop the Pig Skin Disease Recognition System

using Machine Learning and a Thermal Sensor

A flowchart, block diagram, software development model as basis in developing

the system and circuit diagram were created by the researchers for the thermal

sensing Arduino connection. The system was able to recognize the various pig

skin conditions fed into it. The source code, layouts, and graphical user interface

design was written in MatLab for the Pig Skin Diseases Recognition System

through Machine Learning with Thermal Sensor. The system's overall design was

carefully chosen with a focus on higher performance and better quality.

On the construction of features that aid in early stages of pig skin illnesses

through machine learning with thermal sensor in order to achieve and produce

results, the researchers used MATLAB as a programming platform, convolutional

neural network (CNN) as an algorithm to classify skin types, and Arduino uno to

test humidity and temperature using DHT11 sensor.

66

2. To test the Pig Skin Disease Recognition System's performance in terms of

accuracy in detecting pig skin diseases using a thermal sensor and machine

learning.

The Pig Skin Diseases Recognition System through Machine Learning with

Thermal Sensor was 100% accurate in generating results in pig skin condition

detection and thermal sensing. In order to produce appropriate usage, the data or

information that has been tabulated and designed was carefully chosen and

arranged.

5.2 Conclusions

The researchers were able to design and test a labor-saving system, the

Pig Skin Diseases Recognition System, through Machine Learning with Thermal

Sensor. The system was able to detect the skin condition and determine

whether it was normal skin, skin lesion, and swine pox using convolutional

neural network algorithm. The researchers were able to construct features

relevant to the designed system. The thermal scanner was able to detect the pig

temperature and the humidity. This leads to the conclusion that the system is

indeed effective in detecting and determining the Pig skin condition. We were not

able to test temperature in pig with skin disease due to unavailability of the subject.

5.3 Recommendations

This study revealed that various parameters were overlooked by the

researchers during the design, creation, and testing processes. Future

67

researchers may be able to do live temperature testing on pigs with skin disorders.

Using real-time monitoring and other related algorithms, pig skin infections can be

recognized in real time. Add relevant features and improve the functionality of the

system to detect faster. These are the recommendations for future research to

improve the Pig Skin Diseases Recognition System through Machine Learning with

Thermal Sensors.
