TESTING BLOOD FOR GLUCOSE OR HEMOGLUCOTEST

Definition:
It is the immediate measurement of blood for glucose using blood sample from a fingerstick or heel stick
otherwise known as hogcotes or capillary blood glucose.

Normal Values:
Adult = 80-120mg/dl
Hypoglycemia in newborns is defined as blood sugar below 30 mg/dl, in children and adults if below 50mg/dl

Equipment:
Cotton ball with alcohol
Dry cotton ball
Glucometer set
Matching strip
Working gloves

Procedure:
