1.Explain the meaning of those words

Employement- is when a person is working a full-time job and receives
compensation corresponding with the qualifications someone has.

Unemployment- is where a person in the working population who is qualified and

interested in working has not yet found a job.

Unemployable- are individuals who are unsuitable for employment. Examples

include students, persons with severe disabilities, inmates, those who are illiterate
(i.e., incapable of reading and writing), etc.

Undermployed– consists of two conditions. When someone is doing a temporary

job, for example. 2. When a person's income or pay are out of line with their
qualifications.

2. List and explain six causes of

unemployment.
1. Undeveloped public sector- Sometimes a country possesses the resources,
but there are no means to use them since the sector is underdeveloped.
Normally, the country would take those resources and export them to other
nations, where they would be used to create things that would then be
imported by the nation that supplied the resources. For instance, Grenada
produces a lot of nutmeg, but as Grenada lacks the facilities to used them,
they export them (approximately 500 bags each week) to other nations.
These nations would use the nutmegs to produce goods for Grenada, such as
nutmeg oil, syrup, and more.
Therefore, one way to increase employment-is to develop underdeveloped
sectors. If our sectors are developed, we won't need to export resources
because we can use them to produce goods and services instead. This could
increase employment, lowering our unemployment rate.
2. Lack of skilled oriented subjects- Many Caribbean schools provide more
academic subjects. However, many academic occupations, such as those for
alawyers and accountants, are in low demand, and as a result, many fresh
graduates usually go unemployed. Plumbing, electrical work, and many
other skilled jobs are in high demand right now.

More skill-oriented subjects may be provided as a potential remedy. By

doing so, many students could become more self-employed, and some would
even start businesses where more than one person could work, reducing the
unemployment rate.

3.The agriculture sector is poor- Food is essential for survival, so the

government should place high attention on the agriculture industry. Farmers,
livestock managers, and other jobs can all be produced by the agriculture
sector.
Improving the agriculture sector- By improving our roads, water systems,
and other agricultural amenities, we can boost the agriculture industry.
Supplying educational materials on agriculture to the schools. Let's use an
example where the government gives new farmers $20,000 to help them
launch their farming operations. Now that they have a job for one
unemployed person and may require other workers to help with farm
operations, both the individual who started the farm business and other
people have greater opportunities.

4. Too many people in the labour force- A nation can become highly
overpopulated. The country can't support all of these people, especially if
there's a significant increase in the labor force. For instance, Grenada has
about 1,000 students who graduate each year and need to find employment.
However, if Grenada is unable to accommodate all of those people many
remain unemployed for years.

Birth control methods- Introduce birth control options such caps or

diaphragms, combination pills, condoms, contraceptive implants, and
enlighten the population about planned parenthood when a country is
experiencing overpopulation. China introduced the one-child policy a few
years ago, requiring each household to have just one kid, preferably a boy.
Despite being a strict restriction, it proved effective. The unemployment rate
would be lower in a nation with fewer citizens.

5. More machinery less people- Today's world is heavily reliant on

technology. Large industries have started to use more machines than people
since it makes our lives easier. Although it may sound wonderful, there are
drawbacks to that. Replacing people with machinery would only result in
their unemployment, which would increase unemployment in that nation.

Use less machines- Although we can't completely stop using machines, we

can cut back on how much we do. For example, the money could be utilized
to hire a crew to plow the area rather than purchasing a tractor. Yes, things
might move much more slowly, but at least those individuals are no longer
without a job.
