MARIJUANA SHOULD BE LEGALIZED

Marijuana is one of the most vehement adversaries in the war on drugs by Filipinos. Marijuana,
which is derived from cannabis plants is known by a variety of names. Marijuana has a variety of
nicknames, ranging from cannabis to ganja to weed. Marijuana is made up of the leaves and flowers
of the cannabis plant. Marijuana should be legalized because it can lower blood pressure, cures
cancer, and reduce inflammation.

Reason why marijuana should be legalized because it can lower blood pressure, Amongst older
adults with hypertension, cannabis treatment for 3 months was associated with a reduction in 24
hours systolic and diastolic blood pressure values with another 3 hours after cannabis
administration.

Second reason why marijuana should be legalized because it cures cancer, studies have looked
at the possible benefits medical marijuana can have on cancer symptoms and treatment side effects.
A few small studies have found that smoking marijuana can ease these side effects of chemotherapy.
One study of cannabis users found they had a lower risk of bladder cancer.

Lastly marijuana should be legalized because it reduce inflammation, cannabis has been used to
treat inflammation for millennia, but its in modern medicine is hampered by a lack of scientific
knowledge. Previous studies report that cannabis extracts and inflorescence inhibit inflammatory
responses in vitro and in pre-clinical and clinical trials. The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a
modulator of immune system activity, and dysregulation of this system is involved in various chronic
inflammation.

In Conclusion, Marijuana should be legalized because it can lower blood pressure, cures cancer
and reduce inflammation. Marijuana should no longer be grouped with cocaine and heroin, but with
other recreational drugs such as caffeine and tobacco. The legalization of marijuana will help out our
economy and create hundreds of jobs for Filipinos. Based on my research, I have determined this
positives outweigh the negatives. Legalizing marijuana has the potential to give our economy a huge
boost and could make Philippines strong as ever.
