CHILE

Chile is a country located in western South America. It is located between the Andes to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west on a long, narrow strip of land. Chile has a population of 17.5 million people and a
land area of 756,096 square kilometers. The country's capital is located in a valley bordered by the Andes and the Chilean Coast Range mountains. It is also the world's southernmost country, the closest to
Antarctica, with land boundaries with Peru to the north, Bolivia to the north-east, Argentina to the east, and the Drake Passage to the far south. Chile also has jurisdiction over the Pacific Ocean islands of Juan
Fernández, Isla Salas y Gómez, Desventuradas, and Easter Island. Santiago is the country's capital and largest city, and Spanish is the official language.

EASTER ISLAND ATACAMA DESERT THE ANDES

Easter Island is a small island in the South Pacific Ocean that is
about 64 square miles in size and is approximately 2,300 miles
west of Chile and 2,500 miles east of Tahiti. The island was known
as Rapa Nui by its earliest inhabitants, but Dutch explorers renamed
it Paaseiland, or Easter Island, in celebration of the day of their arrival
in 1722. It was annexed by Chile in the late 1800s.
The Atacama desert is the world’s driest non-polar desert plateau
covering a 1,600 kmstrip of land as well as the only real desert that
receive less precipitation than the polar deserts, the World’s largest
fog desert. Both places have been used as the Earth based test sites
for Mars expedition simulations and it has also become home to the
world’s largest ground telescope and is home to 1 million people
The Andes, which span along the Western side of South America
is one of the World’s longest mountain ranges. Its diverse landscape
includes glaciers, volcanoes, grasslands, a desert, lakes and woodland.
The mountains are home to Pre-columbian archeological sites as well
as condors. The range starts from Venezuela in the north, passes
through Columbia, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia and then finally Chile.
