BEHAVIOUR STANDARDS

The contents of the below table are required to be briefed to all existing and new staff. These behavioral standards are in line with
the KAUST Code of Conduct and provide additional clarification on certain expected behaviors within the KAUST Code of Conduct.

Adherence to the below must be maintained at all times to ensure that behavioral standards are known and understood.

Once briefed and understood by all staff, their details are to be entered as acknowledgement of them receiving the standards and
their compliance with it.

CONTRACTOR BRIEFING NOTICE (BEHAVIOUR STANDARDS)

All Personnel are mandated to adhere to the following standards of behaviour whilst at KAUST.

1. Personnel must comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as policies
and procedures of the University. KAUST’s Code of Conduct does not accept behavior such as arguments; fighting;
harassment; theft; or any bad behavior in general.

2. Personnel are not permitted to engage in unnecessary conversations with KAUST personnel or community members
that include uninvited informal attempts to befriend a person.

3. Personnel are not permitted to stare at KAUST personnel or community members in any way. The definition of
staring means the looking at someone for any length of time for which no valid reason exists.

4. Personnel are not to make any action towards KAUST personnel or community members so as to cause discomfort
in any way shape or form that includes any comments in relation to a person’s appearance.

5. Personnel are not to hinder any KAUST personnel or community members in going about their business whether the
hindrance is verbal or physical.

6. Personnel are not to enter any villa or apartment, including the rear garden area, without the express permission
of the resident (occupied property) or KAUST Management (unoccupied property).

7. Personnel are not to remove any item of property from within KAUST including but not limited to, bicycles, laptops,
mobile phones or any other items left outside of villas including items left in/next to the garbage.

8. Personnel are not to take photographs or video images within KAUST of person(s) which include females and
children.

9. Personnel must keep their KAUST ID's on them at all times and when questioned by KAUST Security or University
Internal Services (KAUST’s Investigation Department), they must produce their KAUST ID and cooperation with
these parties is mandatory.

10. Personnel shall not remain inside of KAUST at the end of their shift or duty without the express permission of their
KAUST Proponent or have reasonable cause to do so.

11. Confirmed non-adherence to the above noted behavioral standard expectations, may result in appropriate
disciplinary action up to and including termination from employment from the KAUST contract and permanent
expulsion from KAUST.
