My english teacher said that the Follothe Rabbit-Proof Fence

would be an interesting story to read. We read many summarised text,

and the story behind it. And I found ou that the story is interesting and
has a lot of meaning, especially to Aboriginal people or people that live
in Australia.

This maid me feel like for Aboriginal people life was really hard.
They were treated badly and without any respect. The three girls had
there journey home. And it was scary and hard for them. Last is that
how it’s unfair that the families are not full and many don’t even know
their parents.
In this true story this is what happened. The three sisters were
Aboriginal, they were taken from their parents. The government
moved three girls to the other side of Australia to parent them
‘correctly’. The oldest from the sisters was Molly, Moly is Nugi
Garimaras mother. So the sisters were trapped there. Three sisters
wanted to escape, and so they did. They escaped from there. With
knowing the place they were in, and the place were they house located.
Followed the Rabbit-Proof fence that is located across Australia. That
way three sisters were back home with their family.
A few things struck me worth thinking about. First, about how
Aboriginal people are treated. As we know Aboriginal people are the
‘bad’. Parents parent their kids poorly. So they get taken away. And I
think that that’s unfair and really disrespectful.
Next, about The girls journey home. I think that the girls journey
home was really hard and dangerous for them. Image how three little
girls walk 1,600 kilometres by them selfes. Without anything, like food
and water.
The third thing that struck me is how the families of Aboriginal
people are not full. Little children live without their parents with them.
I think that all families should be full, or atleast have a contact
between each other.
Whats my conclusion? My conclusion is that no matter what
Aboriginal people should be treated the same way as others. And Nugi
Garimara’s story is really sad and unfair to her , and her mother that
had to cross such a long distance.
Let me leave you with this thought. Nugi Garimara is not a
professional writer, but she described that time so accurate and we
really need to think about our history and how people lived befor.
