DINDI LIFT IRRIGATION PROJECT

PREAMBLE:
The Sri Ramaraju Vidyasagar Rao Dindi Lift
Irrigation Project (SRVR DLI Project)
envisages to provide irrigation and
drinking water to the most severely
affected areas by fluoride and the drought
prone areas of Devarakonda and
Munugodu constituencies of Nalgonda
District.

SOURCE AND LOCATION

Back waters of Srisailam project, Mahbubnagar district.

COMPONENTS
 The project consists of Main Canal from km 0.000 to km 66.300 starting from
Ulpara Barrage and ends at Shivannagudem Reservoir.
 Four offline reservoirs viz. Dindi Reservoir (Existing & Addl ayacut)
Singarajpally, Gottimukkala, Chinthapally and
 Five online reservoirs viz. Ulpara Barrage, Yarrapally-Gokaram, Irwin,
Kistarampally and Shivannagudem Reservoirs.

i) Main Canal from km 0.000 to km 66.300.

The main canal starts at km 0.000 from Ulpara Barrage and outflows
into Shivannagudem Reservoir at km 66.300.

Hydrology:
It is proposed to lift 30 TMC of flood water from the foreshore of Srisailam
Reservoir to the existing Dindi Project at 0.50 TMC per day for 60 days.
Scope:
To irrigate an ayacut of 3.61 lakh acres in 21 Mandals in 4 Districts of
Nagarkurnool, Nalgonda, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri and Ranga Reddy.

(15) FIFTEEN Mandals of Nalgonda District
(4) FOUR Mandals of Nagarkutnool District
(1) ONE Mandal in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District and
(1) ONE Mandal in Ranga Reddy District.

Cost of the Project

The Government have accorded Administrative approval to the Dindi Lift irrigation
Scheme for an amount of Rs.6190 Crores, vide G.O.Ms No. 107, I&CAD(Projects-I)
dept., dated 11-06-2015.

R&R details:
1. Singarajpally Reservoir: No villages are coming under submergence in the
Singarajpally Balancing Reservoir.
2. Yerrapally-Gokaram Reservoir: The villages Yerravelly & Yerravelly Thanda,
H/o Yerravelly (V) in Charakonda Mandal are coming under submergence in the
the Yerrapally-Gokaram Reservoir.
3. Irwin Reservoir: No villages are coming under submergence in the Irwin
Reservoir.
4. Gottimukkala Reservoir: The villages Lingannabavigudem & Poothalaram
Thanda, H/o Gottimukkala (V) in Devarakonda Mandal are coming under
submergence in the Gottimukkala Balancing Reservoir.
5. Chinthapally Reservoir: No villages are coming under submergence in the
Chinthapally Reservoir.
6. Kistrampally Reservoir: The villages Laxmanapuram H/o. S.W.Lingotam(V) in
Nampally Mandal & Edulagandi H/o Vinjamoor(V) in Chinthapally Mandal are
coming under submergence in the Kistrampally Balancing Reservoir.
7. Shivannagudem Reservoir: The three villages Charlagudem H/o Indurthy (V),
Narsireddygudem H/o Indurthy and Venkepally & Venkapally thanda in
Marriguda Mandal are coming under submergence in the Shivannagudem
Balancing Reservoir.

Expenditure details:
The total expenditure incurred towards works, LA, R&R etc is for an
amount of Rs.1506.51 Crs.
