Defining the Problem:

My client is our Chemistry teacher Mr. XYZ. During the year he had lots of summative and
formative tests. Total possible mark and grade boundary for these exams were always
different. After I talked to him - (Appendix 1), it was clear that he was setting up percentages
for the grade boundaries then manually calculating what would be appropriate mark to reach
each grade.

Example is provided in Appendix 2.

I offered him to make a automatic program where he can set percentages and total mark, and
it would create a grease boundary as well as exam paper cover sheet.

Criteria for Success:

1. Program should accept total mark for the exam


2. Program should accept top percentages for each grade level
3. Program should generate grade boundary based on this information
4. Program should create a cover page for the exam paper as PDF file
5. Program should keep data about grade boundary for later use
6. After exam takes place, program should allow teacher to add students and their marks
7. Program should automatically find what grade each student gets based on their marks
8. Program should allow to add comment for each student
9. Pram should create an individual report for each student to a PDF file
