A newsletter is a short, regularly published bulletin that is distributed to interested people,such


as members of an organisation, business clients or the general public.It is a simple version of a
newspaper.

Guidelines for preparing newsletters

a) Use a relatively short nameplate (newsletter title) that can be displayed across the top of
the page in large font.

b) Keep your layout clear and uncluttered.

c) You can vary the appearance and add interest by using two or three columns in some
sections of the newsletter.

d) Use a single distinctive easy-to-read font for headlines. Leave a clear line space before
and after headlines.

e) Use an easy-to-read font such as Times New Roman for the body text.

f) Ensure that your writing is free of errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence
construction and word usage.

g) Avoid using long sentences.

h) Make sure that your articles are informative, interesting and entertaining.
