LESSON THREE
God is a Balanced Being

INTRODUCTION
 God is holy, loving, merciful, faithful, yet just and righteous.
 ANO ANG PAGKAKAKILALA NATIN SA DIYOS AMANG
NASA LANGIT?
 God is a loving God, but people tend to overemphasize it and
forget that He is Just and Holy.
 The love of God allows Him to forgive sin and show mercy to a
repentant sinner.
 The holiness and justice of God demand that sin must be punished
to the full extent of the law.
 Rom. 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death." Ex. 18:20.
 If God were a mere human being He would be completely
frustrated with incompatible emotions and desires with the two
sides in constant conflict.
 However God is not a man and these two opposing emotions work
together in perfect harmony for the one becomes a balance for the
other.
 To argue that hell is impossible, for a loving merciful God could
not send a helpless human being there forever and ever, is an
unbalanced view of God.
 The holiness of God demands that we be holy. The law of God
pronounces eternal damnation on the guilty sinner in accordance
with the justice of God.
 This solution also satisfied the law, yet left man a creature with a
free will who could choose salvation or damnation, heaven or hell.

I. GOD IS HOLY
 ANO ANG IBIG SABIHIN NG BANAL?
 God’s holiness is perfect.
 Ang Diyos ay Banal – pure, walang bahid ng kasalanan.
  Habakuk 1:13 Ngunit paano ninyo natitiis ang mga taksil at
masasamang taong ito? Napakabanal ng inyong paningin upang
masdan ang kasamaan. Hindi ninyo matitiis ang mga taong
gumagawa ng mali.
 Wala siyang katulad.
 Exodus 15:11, “Ikaw Yahweh, sino sa mga diyos ang iyong
kagaya? Sa kabanala'y dakila at kamangha-mangha, sa mga
himala'y di mapantayan, sa kababalaghan ay di matularan?
 Yamang Siya ay banal nararapat din tayong magpakabanal. I Pet.
1:15,16,
 The holiness of God demanded punishment for sin.

II. GOD IS LOVE

 I John 4:8, "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love."
 This is not only a verb saying that God loves but a noun for God is
love.
 I John 4:7-8, " 7 Mga minamahal, mag-ibigan tayo sapagkat mula
sa Diyos ang pag-ibig. Ang bawat umiibig ay anak ng Diyos at
kumikilala sa Diyos. 8 Ang hindi umiibig ay hindi kumikilala sa
Diyos, sapagkat ang Diyos ay pag-ibig.
 The love of God is manifested toward the Son and all believers in
particular. SA PAPAANONG PARAAN NATIN NARANASAN
ANG PAG-IBIG NG DIYOS PARA SA ATIN?

III. GOD IS FAITHFUL

 1 Cor. 1 :9 Tapat ang Diyos na tumawag sa inyo upang makipag-
isa sa kanyang Anak na si Jesu-Cristo na ating Panginoon.
 WHAT DOES THE WORD FAITHFUL MEAN?
 It means someone who can be safely trusted, who is reliable and
dependable. God is faithful for He is honest and never changes.
 How great is God's faithfulness?
 God will keep every promise to protect, assist and guide His child
in need.
IV. GOD IS MERCIFUL
 Siya ay maawain
 Psa. 103:8, "Si Yahweh ay mahabagi't mapagmahal, hindi
madaling magalit, wagas ang pag-ibig."
 Deut. 4 :31 Siya ay mahabagin. Hindi niya kayo pababayaang
malipol sapagkat hindi niya kakalimutan ang kanyang kasunduan
sa inyong mga ninuno.
 Matt. 5:45, "Pinasisikat niya ang araw at ibinubuhos ang ulan sa
mabubuti maging sa masasama. ANO ANG PAGKAKAUNAWA
MO DITO?

V. GOD IS JUST
 Siya ay Makatarungan at Makatuwiran

CONCLUSION
How can God be both loving and demand holiness at the same time?
How can He be both merciful and just at the same time to a guilty
sinner?

Let us bow in true worship before this great God who is a perfect Being.
