Pre-requisite:
The student should have comprehensive understanding of Indian Penal Code and Constitutional
Law.
Course Objectives
 To identify the various stages in investigation and procedure of trial in criminal cases.
 To understand the powers, functions, and duties of police and criminal courts.
 To critically analyze the emerging areas in the CrPC
 To develop and promote the application of fair and best practices in under criminal procedure
laws on India.
Course Learning Outcomes:
 To develop the ability to interpret provisions of statutory procedural law/rules concerning
crime. (PLO1 a).
 To develop the ability to compare statutory provisions regarding procedural laws in crime.
(PLO 1b).
 To apply legal provisions, rules, principles and procedures and conduct legal research to find
solution to complex legal problem arising under the present framework. (PLO 2a).
 To inculcate an inter-disciplinary understanding of procedural laws and its impact on various
