Interviewer

Hello, this is uh the uh in-depth interview for MM2 project of Group 4 and we are
interviewing, A senior citizen. Um, so that we can get, uh, get an insight into,
uh, diverse personas. So, uh, please introduce yourself.

Interviewee
I am S. Raju and I'm around 66 years old and I am at present working in a
recruitment Commission called Subordinate Service Commission. I'm the Chairman of
that.

Interviewer
OK, so uh how often do you use, uh, a laptop, your laptop in a day? And um, like
how many hours of usage in a day?

Interviewee
About an hour in a day.

Interviewer
OK, um. So, uh what? What are the main, uh uh things you use the laptop for? What?
What is the purpose of your using laptop?

Interviewee
Number one., I use it for uh for one presentation and secondly I use it for video
conferencing like for example Skype or zoom conferencing and sometimes to read some
online newspapers and magazines.

Interviewer
OK. Alright, So what are the, uh, features that you look for when you are when
you're about to buy a laptop?

Interviewee
Since the company buys the laptop, for me money is not a real consideration for me
what do the real consideration is that it should be lightweight. It should have
very high speed processing and a long battery life so that I don't have a problem
of moving around.

Interviewer
OK, alright. How do you do research for a new laptop when you have to get one?

Interviewee
Research work.

Interviewer
Like how do you decide what laptop to get? Like, you have to see.

Interviewee
I ideally go by what my peers are having.

Interviewer
OK.

Interviewee
And sometimes, because the vendors themselves will keep coming to me and everybody
talks about their own laptops. So based on that I decide which one to go for.

Interviewer
Uh, so you do not, uh. See any online reviews or articles about laptops before you
buy?
Interviewee
Ohh, I have not. I don't really see any online.

Interviewer
OK. OK. Uh, So what is your mode of buying a laptop?

Interviewee
I prefer to go to the uh showroom. See various models. And then decide. I don't
prefer Online like Amazon, and things like this. Because I don't have faith that
I'll get good material.

Interviewer
OK. All right. So, uh, how likely are you to buy an indigenous laptop compared to a
big brand?

Interviewee
I have no bias on that as long as it can give me speed and. And good battery life.
And as I said that lightweight. Then I'm open to both indigenous and the MNCS also.

Interviewer
Oh, OK. Any brands of Indian origin laptops that you know?

Interviewee
I have so far not really come across any anything which is which is purely Indian.
Use only HP, IBM or Dell.

Interviewer
OK, uh, what is your, uh, favorite, uh, brand?

Interviewee
HP.

Interviewer
OK, because of.

Interviewee
Only because many of my friends are using HP, so I get used to it and I I do find
that the HP people keep coming to you again and again. Even in, to every office,
they come again and again. It's quite good.

Interviewer
OK, so you like your experience with your current laptop.

Interviewee
Yes, the post sales service I found it. Good HP, yes.

Interviewer
Right. Yes, that is where we were going. Uh, the next question is, what are the uh
kind of services and warranties and extra features or accessories that you expect
when you buy a laptop?

Interviewee
Accessories. I expect um DVD writer, definitely DVD writer and reader. And uh, it
should have enough space for at least three. Connections for using pen drives.

Interviewer
OK.

Interviewee
And preferably a connection to the TV. So that I can see on a big screen. Bigger
screen than the laptop.

Interviewer
OK, alright. Any uh particular requests about the after purchase services.

Interviewee
I want the computer to be trouble-free for at least for say about two to three
years. I don't want to keep running to.. especially for a hardware problem.

Interviewer
OK. OK. All right. OK. Thank you for your time. We will be finishing it up now.

Interviewee
It's a pleasure.
