1 INSTALLATION

1.1 THE GRADIENT COIL HOSES

NOTE

Notice that the gradient coil hoses must be pulled through the RF feed through of the RF room from the
technical room to the examination room.
The LCC side connectors do not fit through the RF feed through!

________________

1. Route the two 15 meter water hoses for the gradient coil through the cylindrical pipes (RF wave guides)
in the RF room feed through plate from the technical room to the examination room!
2. − Connect the water hose from the LCC GC supply output to the gradient coil feed manifold.
See Figure 1.
− Connect the water hose from LCC GC inlet to the gradient coil return manifold. See Figure 1.
− Insert both couplings into their coil fitting. Ensure that the tube is totally pushed into the coil fitting
and fasten the nut finger tight.
− Mark the nut in this position, and tighten the nut for 0.5 to 0.75 turn, using the mark as a reference.
− Pull the insulation sleeves over the elbows and attach both hoses to the front ring frame.
See
− Figure 2 for the routing.

A ‘SPLASH GUARD’ must be installed to prevent water from leaking onto the hybrid board in case of a
leaking hose or coupling.

The splash guard is installed underneath the RF-cabling and over the interconnection hoses
and the manifolds itself. See
Figure 2.

3. Relieve the hoses, so the sharp edge of the cylindrical pipes does not damage the hoses.
See Figure 3.

Fixate the water hoses, so they will not rub

against the outer-ends of the cylinder pipes.

1.2 THE GRADIENT AMPLIFIER HOSES

1. Connect a ¾” load hose from each gradient amplifier (if applicable) outlet to one of the process fluid
inlets of the LCC.
For an Intera or Achieva Pulsar, one of the process fluid inlets of the LCC is not used.
2. Connect a ¾” load hose from each gradient amplifier (if applicable) inlet to one of the process fluid
outlets of the heat exchanger.
For an Intera and Achieva Pulsar, one of the process fluid outlets of the heat exchanger is not used.
