Equality Equates humanity

Equality is about ensuring that every individual has an equal

opportunity to make the most of their lives and talents. It is also
the belief that no one should have poorer life chances because of
the way they were born, where they come from, what they
believe, or whether they have a disability.

Children, women, and men benefit from gender equality. It also

addresses racial discrimination and improves business and the
economy. While it will be some time before gender equality is a
reality around the world, we’ve made enough progress to see its
benefits in action. The goal now is to keep promoting gender
equality while replacing old systems based on discrimination and
outdated mindsets.

Accelerating Gender Equality and investing in empowerment

generates large economic gains. No society can develop
sustainably without transforming and amplifying the distribution
of opportunities, resources, and choices for men and women so
that they have equal power to shape their own lives and
contribute to their families, communities, and countries.
Women’s rights are being fought for all over the world. These
efforts have
given millions of girls and women access to education and health
services,
the opportunity to exert an influence in politics, and economic
independence. But gender equality is not just about women; it is
about changing
relations between women and men. An active participation of
men is
therefore vital for its success.

Gender awareness raising aims at increasing

general sensitivity, understanding and knowledge about gender
(in)equality. Practicing acceptance prepares you to live in this
changing world, where you never know what’s going to happen
next. Acceptance is like protecting yourself with your own
