Byzantine Architecture
Constantine was the first Christian
Roman Emperor. Constantine divides the
Roman Empire into two halves: the
Western Roman Empire and the Eastern
Roman Empire.

The Roman and Greek articulation were


used by the Byzantine Empire. Styles to
produce its distinct style of architecture
The impact of Byzantine architecture and
art may be traced in the many
reproductions made throughout Europe.

spread through conquest and
Reproduction so Christian rulers
throughout  the world decided to seek
to try to emulate its spectacular
Architecture around their Metropolises.

Their primary building materials are


bricks and plasters, which are used to
create decorative structures, and
mosaic embellishment.
Byzantine constructions
continued to pursue Classical
orders, but they became more
diverse and irregular, largely a
consequence of old pagan
monuments being used as
sources to supply diverse
stone pieces for current
models.
