It is usually a good idea to engage in recreational activities. They are beneficial in terms
of social, physical, and mental well-being. Individuals suffering from mental health
concerns can benefit from these activities as a sort of therapeutic treatment. It can be
difficult to see the good influence hobbies and interests have since they are viewed to
pass the time or as something that feels forced.
2. What are the potential values instilled by recreational activities in the life of an
individual and the community?
The sharing of leisure time strengthens family relationships. Families who spend time
together outdoors tend to be closer, more cohesive, and have a better chance of staying
together. This is true of both parents-child and married couple relationships. Families
are the foundation for children’s well-being and healthy growth
3. Why do people resort to drugs?
For most people, taking drugs is simply another technique of modifying consciousness,
like many other leisure pastimes. The very small number of people who develop more
obsessive drug using tendencies on the other hand, drug usage isn’t only about having a
good time, unwinding or partying. It usually has a deeper meaning. Sometimes to
escape from reality and reduce stress.
