1.0 OBJECTIVES

1.1 To provide proper and safe procedure in servicing of all equipment in the Workshop.

2.0 SCOPE
This procedure is applicable to all GMIC Technician who were trained and authorized to
refurbish of all equipment in the workshop.

3.0 TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

3.1 LOTO (Lock Out, Tag Out) – A device used to isolate energy source of an equipment to
prevent unintentional energization while maintenance/repair is ongoing.

3.2 JSA (Job Safety Analysis) – A document comprising the step by step procedure of any job
with its associated hazards and the control measures to eliminate each hazard.

3.3 Spotter – A person that assists the operator of a vehicle or equipment to ensure a safe
distance of unit to any object.

3.4 ASSOCIATED HAZARDS

 Pressurized fluids
 Pressurized air and water
 Slippery surfaces
 Muscle strains
 Extreme heat
 Sharp objects

5.2 For general environmental, safety and health in the workplace refer to General ESH
Guidelines and Best Practices.

5.3 Waste must be minimized, segregated, recycled and disposed-of properly in reference to
Waste Management Guidelines.

5.4 Significant environmental aspects identified must be controlled and managed properly,
refer to Company Safety Procedure.

Authorized 2. In parking, unit shall be guided by

Workshop Supervisor 5. Activities for the unit shall be planned


by Workshop Supervisor.
Supervisors/Leaders should identify
hazards in the work place and JSA and
Permits should be filled up if required.
The Workshop Supervisor shall assign
the refurbishing activity to trained
and authorized Workshop personnel
only.
