Purposive Communication in the 21st Century is about writing, speaking and presenting to different
audiences and for various purposes. Generally, Purposive Communication aims to develop your
fundamental communication skills such as listening, speaking, reading, writing, viewing, and representing
studies and simulated in advanced academic and other multicultural settings. All of these are essential as

2. Assessments
Assessments are given to assess your applied knowledge about the topics discussed. The
assessments are output-based and can be individual or group work. You will be given
guidelines on how to accomplish each assessment.
3. Reporting
The class will be divided into groups for reporting. Each group will be assigned a specific
topic to be discussed in class.
4. Participation
a. Attendance - students are expected to consistently attend face-to-face and/or online
classes (as needed).
b. Recitation - 10% of the total grades correspond to the recitation of the student.
5. Long Quizzes
There will be two (2) long quizzes for the course.
6. Final Project
A final project will be given in the first half of the course. You will be given guidelines for
creating your project and submission.
