Task 1 of 3:
Introduction: write the script that you will be recording for your introduction here. Introduce yourself
and say what the documentary will be about. Maybe make a statement that you are going to challenge or
ask a question that you’re going to try and answer through the course of the documentary and in the
conclusion.
How is the consistency and integrity of an intellectual property successfully maintained across both video
and gaming?
There are many films and TV shows that have been re-imagined in the form of video games; such as
Spiderman, Harry Potter, The Walking Dead, Need for Speed and many more.
However, Alarm for Cobra 11: The Autobahnpolice is a title very few people have heard of. But why, is it
simply because British TV channels never broadcasted it?
Or was the game series too good of a representation of the TV series? First of all, what is Cobra 11?

Task 2 of 3:
Audio: Visual:
(script being narrated/additional sounds heard. (what will the audience be seeing?)
Write ROUGH timings in here where possible)
Alarm for Cobra 11 is a German crime-drama set on Clips from Cobra 11.
the autobahn featuring Semir and his partners in
their action-packed career as autobahn-police
officers and detectives. It has been running from
1996 till 2021 and has been re-booted as feature-
length films just last year, in 2022.

In 1995, Polyphon Film rented out an abandoned Clips from Cobra 11 and Google Maps.

renovated it; turning it into the first precinct of the
Autobahnpolice.
Soon after in 1996, the first season of Cobra 11
aired.
In 1998 however, Action Concept founded by Picture of Hermann Joha and Action Concept film

and had stayed there since; gaining access to the FTL
Filmautobahn in 2005.

In 2001, the first video game was released by RTL Cobra 11 Vol 1 game clips.
Playtainment; called Alarm for Cobra 11: Vol 1.
The game included a simple set of missions set on
the Autobahn, with the aim of chasing down amoks
and criminals.
With basic crash physics and explosions, the game
followed the genre of the series very well.

This was not the case for the next game in 2004, Cobra 11 Vol 2 game clips.
Alarm for Cobra 11: Vol 2, Hot Pursuit. Vol 2 was a
poor attempt to create a Need for Speed like arcade
racing game for the PC and PlayStation 2.
Overall, Vol 2 had nothing to do with the show.

In 2005, Alarm for Cobra 11: Vol 3 was the first and Cobra 11 Vol 3 game clips.
only game in the series to be in first person mode
and to feature 3D characters and interiors of
buildings, including the Autobahnpolice station
which was made to look exactly like it was in the
series at the time.

In 2006, the game series got a new developing team Cobra 11 Nitro game clips.
called Synetic. This indie game developing team
consisted of only six people. Alarm for Cobra 11:
Nitro was the first game they made for the series.
Nitro, with its simple yet iconic missions and cases,
set the foundation for the games moving forward.
Cobra 11 Crash Time game clips.
In 2007, Alarm for Cobra 11: Crash Time was
released on both PC and XBOX 360, along with the
games from this point on. It was also the first game
to be sold internationally.
In the UK, the Cobra 11 name was dropped and the
title Crash Time was used instead. Whereas in the
USA, the name Crash Time: Autobahn Pursuit was
used.

In 2008, Alarm for Cobra 11: Burning Wheels also Cobra 11 Burning Wheels game clips.
known as Crash Time II was released.
Crash Time II was the first game in the series to
feature free roam, and to have characters voiced by
real actors from the TV series. In the USA, Crash
Time II was renamed to Autobahn Polizei. This was
the last game released in America.

In 2009, Alarm for Cobra 11: Highway Nights or Cobra 11 Highway Nights game clips.
Crash Time III was released and was the only the
game in the series to feature night time. This was a
huge change for the series moving forward, and it
was about to get a lot better.

In 2010, Alarm for Cobra 11: Das Syndikat known as Cobra 11 The Syndicate game clips.
Crash Time 4: The Syndicate was released, and for
the first time, on the PlayStation 3.
Crash Time 4 was the only city to feature real life
landmarks such as Cologne Cathedral and Action
Concept’s film studio from the real series.

In 2012, Alarm for Cobra 11: Undercover or Crash Cobra 11 Undercover game clips.
Time 5: Undercover was released. The free roam
mode was removed, and the simplified mission-
based system was re-introduced.
It was also the game which had a scenario set on the
usual Autobahn and the Alps, rather than the City.
Crash Time 5 would be the last game by Synetic.
In 2014, due to the lack of digital availability, dtp Entertainment shutting forum and Cobra 11

went bankrupt, leading to Synetic closing their doors
and stopping to develop new games. This left only
the TV series, which was not being broadcasted in
any English speaking country, making it difficult for
the fans of the game series to keep enjoying Cobra
11. Although Crash Time was able to exist on the Cobra 11 The Syndicate game clips.
market, its reputation was all thanks to the series its
based on. In other words, without knowing about
the series, the games have almost no potential on
the British and American market.

In 2016, protagonist Erdogan Atalay playing the role Picture of Erdogan Atalay, executive and consulting

TV series. Then, in the new films in 2022, he became
consulting producer. However, at this point in
countries outside of Germany, the series was
gradually getting outdated.

This was the start of the downfall of Cobra 11. So I Cobra 11 Nitro game clips and game file clips.
was wondering, if the series was dubbed back in
1996 and if that was continued to this day, would
Cobra 11 still be in obscurity? I gave a specialist
three title sequences, one of them being in English
which I found in the game files of Alarm for Cobra
11: Nitro.

- What's your opinion on the series, based on the Interview.

Title Sequences you've seen?

- Which era of the series would you enjoy most;

again, based on the Title Sequences?

- After seeing the English intro and if the series was

dubbed, would you watch it?

- Do you think the game series is a decent

representative of the TV Series?

- Out of the 6 'modern' games; from "Cobra 11:

Nitro" to "Crash Time 5: Undercover," which one
gained most of your interest?

One thing the games do just as well as the TV series, Cobra 11, 3D stunt clip.
are the stunts. Therefore, I used Cinema 4D to
create a 3D stunt clip, similar to one you’d see in
both the games and the series. Here’s how it turned
out.

OR

To show how similar the games and the TV series Cobra 11: Nitro stunt clip
can be in certain aspects, I used Cobra 11: Nitro and
its free-camera mode to create a short stunt clip at
near-professional standards.
Task 3 of 3:
Conclusion: write the script that you will be recording for your conclusion here. revisit your initial
question or statement from the introduction, recap some highlights of the things you’ve studied for your
question/statement and suggest whether the statement is supported or what the answer to the question
was.

So, there we are. Was the game series a good representation of the TV series? From all the information I
have gathered, definitely. But it was due to the series not being broadcasted on English speaking channels
that lead to the fade of the games, therefore not being one of the games that pops in our head when
thinking about intellectual property across both video and gaming or just free roam racing games in general.
