3.1. Power overview

MV2000 Ventilator has the function of auto transition for rated input voltage. The
ventilator automatically adjusts to 100-120 AC or 220-240 AC power for input voltage.

To prevent damages in ventilator settings and stored data information upon loss of
AC power source (such as power cable is disconnected suddenly from the power
outlets) during use of the ventilator, the ventilator power source is convert to internal
battery (12 VDC power) automatically and the ventilator can be operations continue
according to remaining rechargeable battery status. Frequently, check the battery
charging conditions.

NOTE
Internal battery (rechargeable) can be replaced if necessary, even during use of
the ventilator.

Also, the ventilator can be used by connect the external 12V DC power. In here,
similar as the internal battery operation, the ventilator power source is convert to
external 12V DC power automatically upon loss of AC power source during use of the
ventilator. Ventilator setting and stored data information are preserved.

3.2. Power Supply Specifications

Rated voltage range:
100 - 230VAC, 50/60Hz

Internal battery:
Rechargeable battery, 12 VDC, 7Ah. Pb.

External 12 VDC power inlet:

4.3.4. Alarm Test

Testing the alarms requires oxygen and stable AC power. Test the alarms at least every
six months, using the procedures described.

CAUTION
For each of the following alarm verification test, user must reset to the previously set
alarm value before proceeding to the next (subsequent) test item after each test.

Requirement Equipment
 Test Lung
 Adult patient circuit

If the alarm does not activates as indicated, verify the ventilator settings again and
repeat the test. The alarm tests check the operation of the following alarms.
 Circuit Open
 Low Exhaled Mandatory Tidal Volume
 Low Exhaled Total Minute Volume
 AC Power Loss
 Apnea
 Oxygen Supply Fail
 Obstruct alarm test

Ventilator setup for alarm tests

1. Disconnect the patient breathing circuit from the ventilator and turn the
ventilator off for at least five minutes. (If user had been used the ventilator)
2. Connect the patient breathing circuit and all accessories to the ventilator
3. Connect the adult test lung to the patient side Y-connector of breathing circuit
4. Turn the ventilator power on.
5. Select New Patient in the screen and select the ‘Male’ patient type

CIRCUIT Open alarm test

 During the inspiratory phase of a breath, disconnect the inspiratory filter from
the patient port. The CIRCUIT OPEN alarm is activates at the ventilator if the
inspiratory filter is disconnected. After confirmed the alarms, connect again the
inspiratory filter to the ‘To Patient port’ for alarm auto-reset.
 Confirm the alarm is deactivated.

LOW Exhaled Mandatory Tidal Volume alarm test

 Set Tidal Volume to 200 ml. After accepted 200 ml of set Tidal Volume, the
Low Tidal Volume alarm will be activated at the ventilator on the third
respiration.
 Confirm the alarm activated, and leave the changed parameters for the next
test.

LOW Exhaled Total Minute Volume alarm test

 Set Low Minute Volume alarm limit (VE Min min) to 3.0 l/min. After accepted
set Low Minute Volume alarm limit (VE MIN Min) 3.0 l/min, the Low Minute
Volume alarm will be activated at the ventilator when 1 minute respiration
elapsed.
 After confirmed the alarm, and set to original Tidal Volume 500ml for alarm
auto-reset of both Low Tidal Volume alarm and low Minute Volume alarm.

AC Power Loss alarm test

 Allow the ventilator to deliver at least four breaths, then disconnect the power
cord from AC power outlets (receptacle). If internal battery was charged, the
Screen appears an ‘AC Power Loss’ alarm. If less than ten minutes of battery
backup are available, the Screen appears a ‘Low Battery’ alarm. If battery
power is not available, the system appears a ‘Loss of Power’ alarm.
 Connect again the power cord to AC power outlets (receptacle). The AC Power

Oxygen (O2) Supply alarm test

 Disconnect the oxygen gas supply source. The ventilator activates O2 Supply
Fail alarm and audible sound immediately (within one breath).
 Connect again the oxygen gas supply source. The O2 Supply Fail alarm and
audible sound are auto-reset and disabled audible sound within two breaths
after oxygen gas supply source is connected.

Obstruct alarm test

 Set the followings for the Obstruct alarm test
 Disconnect the inspiratory filter or inspiratory circuit line from the ‘To patient

1. Select ‘5. InsFlow’ sheet.

2. Select the one of 'SV1_O2' or SV2_Air' on the connected high pressure gas for flow rate adjust and
calibration.

*For this calibration procedure, the high pressure Air and Oxygen gases must be connected already in
the medical gas supply system.

*In case of Oxygen gas available only, it should be selected ‘SV1_O2’.

3. Click ‘Valve, PV1, LS1 Set for InsFlowCalib’’ button.

4. There are two ways to method of calibration and inspection of the ‘inspiratory flow rate’, one for the
fine calibration and other one for the test of the 'inspiratory flow rate' simply.
The first method is change of numeric typing from 1330 to 2250 in the 'PV1_PWM3' window for the fine
calibration, and the second method is to enter flow value by 'PV1 Flow Set' window for test of ‘inspiratory
flow rate’.
The first method of the fine calibration to the ‘inspiratory flow rate’ by use of direct numeric typing to
'PV1_PWM3' window:

1) Typing numeric 1498 and click button for accept, it will be measured around 10 LPM at the flow
analyzer. If measured flow rate at the flow analyzer is higher or lower than 10LPM, then adjust the
numeric for match to 10 LPM on the flow analyzer.

Service Manual
2) Make sure that 10 LPM (± 0.1) and click ‘②10 lpm’ button to save the calibrated data.

3) Typing numeric 1810 and click button for accept, it will be measured around 100 LPM at the flow
analyzer. If measured flow rate at the flow analyzer is higher or lower than 100 LPM, then adjust the
numeric for match to 100 LPM on the flow analyzer.

4) Make sure that measuring value of 100 LPM at the flow analyzer. After then, increase the numeric
step by step until match to measuring value 120 LPM on the flow analyzer.

5) Make sure that 120 LPM(± 1) and click ‘④120 lpm’ button to save the calibrated data.

*Make sure that ‘① 5 lpm (±0.1)’ and ‘③ 30 lpm(±0.5)’ calibration procedure same as above procedure
from No. 1 to No. 5.

The second method is the simply inspection about the result of the fine calibration on the 'inspiratory
flow rate' of performed the first method by use of direct enter the ‘flow rate’ to 'PV1 Flow Set[lpm]’
window.

1) Step 1: Enter 5 in the first digit (not a decimal point) at 'PV1 Flow Set[lpm]’ window and click button
for accept, it will be measured around 5 LPM at the flow analyzer.
*Record the measured value

2) Step 2: Enter 10 in the first digit (not a decimal point) at 'PV1 Flow Set[lpm]’ window and click button
for accept, it will be measured around 10 LPM at the flow analyzer.

*Record the measured value

3) Step 3: Enter 30 in the first digit (not a decimal point) at 'PV1 Flow Set[lpm]’ window and click button
for accept, it will be measured around 30 LPM at the flow analyzer.

*Record the measured value

4) Step 4: Enter 120 in the first digit (not a decimal point) at 'PV1 Flow Set[lpm]’ window and click
button for accept, it will be measured around 120 LPM at the flow analyzer.

*Record the measured value

If measured each of four flow rate value at the flow analyzer are higher or lower than tolerance of 5%,
then, go to ‘first method of fine calibration’ procedure and execute again the fine calibration.

5. Click ‘InsFlow FactorCalc’ button when completed procedures of ‘first method and second method’.
