RULES & REGULATIONS

Segment I: Westminster League


Categories:
1. Football
2. Volleyball
3. Basketball
4. Cricket

Football (U-19, U-16, U-14)


 Each team shall comprise of 10 players + 1 Official ( 7 playing + 3 rolling substitutions)
 Total time of the match shall be 30minutes (two equal half of 15 minutes)
 Players/ Officials, who breach the code of conduct, shall be disqualified from the competition.
 Each team / player shall be in proper uniform during the match.
 The decision of the referees shall be final and binding on the participants.
Volleyball (U-19)
 All matches will be played on a knockout basis.
 3 sets per game and each of 20 points
 6-A side with 3 rolling substitutions.
 Referee’s decision will be final and will not be challenged.
Basketball (U-19)
 A game will consist of 4 quarters, with 8 minutes running clock for each quarter
 5 starters for either team,
 Maximum of 5 players on the bench
 FIFA rules apply, referees call is non-negotiable and final
Cricket (U-19)
 Knockout format will be used.
 5 over per innings for each team.
 Only a tape ball will be used.

Rules for E-Gaming:


1) Players cannot change their teams/characters in between a game
2) Players cannot use special (SCUFF) controllers

 Students can bring instruments to play during the performance.


 The Music teachers are welcome to accompany the students.
 Open Medium for juniors till Young Adults.
 Students can perform solo, duet or in a group.

Juniors Grade 5-6 Do-it-yourself (DIY): Make some DIYs based on the 3 Rs- Reduce Reuse and
Recycle.

Tweens Grade 7-8 Informational Vlogs: If there is a global issue that you are passionate
about, make informative Vlogs about it. Be specific about your topic.

Mid-Teens O-Levels Fitness Vlogs: Vlog videos about physical fitness. You could talk about
strength training moves and exercises.

Young A-Levels Travel Vlogs: Submit a travel Vlog showing the world through your lenses. The
Adults content of the video could be a mix of city guides, travel tips or street food,
offering a unique glimpse into your adventures.

Basic Submission Guidelines for VLOGS:

1. The contestants should submit the entry at westminster.mavericks@gmail.com only.


2. The deadline for submissions is February 1, 2023. Submission will not be accepted once the deadline lapses.
3. All vlog entries must be an original work and between 3 – 5 minutes (max. 5 minutes) in length.
4. Entries exceeding 5 minutes will have corresponding deductions from their points, 1 point for every second
in excess.
5. Each participant should submit ONE entry only.
6. There must be no border(s), logo(s), copyright marks, identifying marks, or any other visible references
and/or marks on the image.
7. The contestants may use any software for editing the vlog as they feel comfortable working in.
8. Vlogs that portray or otherwise include inappropriate and/or offensive content, including provocative nudity,
violence, human rights and/or environmental violation, and/or any other contents deemed to be contrary to
the law, religious, cultural & moral traditions and practices of India, are strictly prohibited and will be
immediately discarded.
9. Each Vlog will be judged on originality, artistic values and how well it is taken and depicts the theme.
Intellectual Property Rights
1. Submitted vlogs must be original, created and/or taken by the contestant. It must not contain any materials
owned or controlled by a third party for which you have not obtained a license, must not infringe the
copyright, trademark, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or
entity.
2. We respect videographers’ copyrights and copyrights shall remain vested with the creator of the image.
Upon making the submission, you grant us, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty free, sub-licensable right and
license to use, publish, reproduce, display, perform, adapt, create derivative works, distribute, have
distributed, print, in whole or in part, in any form, in all media forms now or hereafter known, to promote
the contest, image, the photographer or for editorial or educative use.
3. The Vloggers will be credited wherever the vlog is used.

Juniors Grade 5-6 Food: Submit a photo of your favourite food for your chance to win, in
keeping with our delicious food photography theme

Tweens Grade 7-8 Nature: This category is for photography that is devoted to displaying natural
elements such as landscapes, wildlife, plants, and close-ups of natural scenes
and textures.

Mid-Teens O-Levels Generations: Photographers capture their take on a multi-generational


photograph. This can be more interesting than a standard group portrait; what
if the picture was grandma literally handing down a recipe through instruction,
or a father teaching his son a valuable life skill? The passing of knowledge from
one generation to another and the way that each generation will take the place
of the previous generation in time is an essential part of the human experience.

Young A-Levels Streets of Pakistan: Random in location and subject, street photography
Adults captures the human element, whether personal or through objects illustrating
our character. Share with us your best frames and moments showing your
vision of Street photography!
Basic Submission Guidelines for Photographs:

1. The contestants should submit the entry at westminster.mavericks@gmail.com only.


2. The deadline for submissions is February 1, 2023. Submission will not be accepted once the deadline lapses.
3. Each contestant must submit only 1 photo in the following format:
 .jpeg format
 Maximum horizontal size 1800 pixel and maximum horizontal size 1200 pixel
 Maximum vertical size 1200 and minimum vertical size 800 pixels.
 Minimum resolution set at 200 dpi
 Maximum of 1mb in size
4. The photo cam be on colour or black & white
5. There must be no border(s), logo(s), copyright marks, identifying marks, or any other visible references
and/or marks on the image.
6. Basic editing, including colour enhancement, the use of filters, and cropping of the Photo(s) is acceptable,
provided any such editing does not affect the authenticity and/or genuineness of the Photo(s).
7. Advanced editing used to create illusions, deceptions and/or manipulations, and the adding and removing
of significant elements within the frame is prohibited.
8. Photos that portray or otherwise include inappropriate and/or offensive content, including provocative
nudity, violence, human rights and/or environmental violation, and/or any other contents deemed to be
contrary to the law, religious, cultural & moral traditions and practices of India, are strictly prohibited and will

Little Kids Grade 1-2 1) Art must be created by an individual student.
2) A4 size paper/chart paper must be used.
3) Participants may draw or use any printouts for the collage.
4) Participants may use any material such as papers, newsprints, ribbons, beads
or any other material.
5) There is no restriction on the medium used.
6) Participants may submit only one entry.
7) The name of the student section and class should be at the back of the artwork.
8) Participants warrant that they are the soul Creator of their art work.
Cubism improvised with Pop Art.
Kids Grade 3-4 1) Art piece must be created by an individual student.
2) A4 size scholar sheet/chart paper must be used.
3) Participants may draw or paint any of their favorite Comic/ Marvel’s character
or use their imagination to creator one of their own fantasy character.
4) There is no restriction on the medium used. Participants may use any material
such as paints, pastels, or any other material.
5) Use of Geometrical shapes and vivid range of colour palette.
6) Participants may submit only one entry.
7) The name of the student section and class should be at the back of the artwork.
8) Participants warrant that they are the soul Creator of their art work.
Juniors Grade 5-6 Graffiti Art
Graffiti is an art to express internal expressions. This art can be used to advertise
any emotion or public message. The art work must depict the individuality of the
student on the specific topic that he/she has chosen.
1) Art must be created by an individual student.
2) An A2 size canvas 16*24 inches should be used for the artwork.
3) The Name of student with class and section should be mentioned at the back of
the art piece.
4) There is no restriction on the medium used. Participants may use any paints,
spray paints, acrylics or oil paints.
5) Participants may submit only one entry before the deadline. After the deadline
no entry will be considered.
Tweens Grade 7-8 Agamograph
An Agamograph is a folded series of images, like an accordion shape or fan. It
allows the viewer to see one picture when the work is viewed from one angle and
a completely different picture when the work is viewed from another

1) Art must be created by an individual student.


2) Two A4 size paper/chart paper must be used for this particular artwork.
3) Participants may pick any topic for this artwork.
4) There is no restriction on the medium used.
5) The artwork should be properly mounted on a black chart paper
6) Participants may submit only one entry.
7) Name of the student, section and class should be clearly mentioned.
8) Participants warrant that they are the soul Creator of their art work. Contestant
submitting plagiarized content will be disqualified.
O-Levels Mixed Media Art
Mid-Teens *Mixed Media Art is an art form in which more than one medium or material has
been employed.
Assemblages, collages, and sculpture are three common examples of art using
different media. Materials used to create mixed media art include, but are not
limited to, paint, cloth, paper, wood and found objects.*

1) Art piece must be created by an individual student.


2) A2 size (16*24 inches) scholar sheet/chart paper or a canvas may be used.
3) Participants may pick any topic for this artwork
4) There is no restriction on the medium used. Participants may use any material
such as paints, pastels etc.
5) Participants may submit only one entry.
6) The name of the student, section and class should be clearly mentioned.
7) Participants warrant that they are the soul Creator of their art work.
8) Contestant submitting plagiarized content will be disqualified.
Young A-Levels Freedom and Social Change
Adults OR
Futuristic Art with a touch of Fantasy

1) Art must be created by an individual student.


2) An A2 size canvas (16*24 inches) should be used for the artwork.
3) Name of student with class and section should be mentioned clearly.
4) Students could either use Oil paints or acrylic paints for this artwork.
5) Each participant may submit only one entry. Any submission after
the deadline will not be considered.
6) Participants warrant that they are the soul Creator of their art
work. Contestant submitting plagiarized content will be
disqualified

Short Story Writing Contest

Eligibility & Entry Guidelines


 Students from grades 1 to A Levels are eligible to send entries for their respective story titles.
 Only one entry per person will be accepted in this Contest; all subsequent entries will be disqualified.
 Only single author stories qualify (no co-authored stories).
 Stories can be prose based on real life or imaginary experiences.
 Any failure to adhere to these Contest Rules may result in disqualification from the Contest.

Word Count Requirement


 ‘Little Kids’ level stories must have a minimum of 50 words and a maximum of 100 words.
 ‘Kids’ level stories must have a minimum of 100 words and a maximum of 250 words.
 ‘Juniors’ level stories must have a minimum of 200 words and a maximum of 350 words.
 ‘Tweens’ level stories must have a minimum of 300 and a maximum of 450 words.
 ‘Mid-Teens’ level stories must have a minimum of 400 and a maximum of 550 words.
 ‘Young Adults’ level stories must have a minimum of 500 and a maximum of 650 words.
 The word count includes ‘a’, ‘an’, and ‘the’, but not the words on non-story pages such as the title page or those that
enhance the illustrations.
 Text must be printed or written legibly or typed.
 Text may be integrated into the illustration pages or on separate pages.
Format & Illustrations
 Stories must have at least 5 original, clear and colourful illustrations.
 Original art can include drawings, collages, and 3-D created by the author or photographs taken by the author.
 Stories submitted by mail must be created on one side of the paper and numbered on the back of each page.

Judging, Awards & Notification (Urdu/English)


All entries submitted to the Contest will be judged using the judging criteria and percentages below by a panel of
judges. The judging criteria and percentages shall be scored and graded using a rubric based on the following
criteria:
 40% Creativity and originality of plot and/or themes,
 40% Story structure and use of literary devices,
 20% Relevance, quality and originality of illustration.

All decisions of the judges are final and binding and not subject to appeal or review.
7. Spirits- Poetry Recital (Humorous/Serious)

Students from Grade 3 to A-Levels are eligible to participate.
