48 January: Tree maintenance at Lauriston Farm. Opened twitter account. Cut
gorse at Hillend. 26th Craigalmond Scouts planted 48 trees at
Hillend. Friends of Cammo planted 160 oak, holly and yew.
6767 March: Received 420 saplings from Woodland Trust. Andrew planted 210 at
Hillend. 4600 trees planted in a hedge at Lauriston Farm with many
community volunteers. 50 rhubarb, 50 raspberry, 12 blueberry, 10
gooseberry, 15 blackcurrant bushes, 20 holly and 90 other trees
moved from allotment to Lauriston Farm, with 500 willows planted
as windbreaks, helped by Rotary club and 30th Craigalmond scouts.
4440 April: 4400 trees planted in woodland area at Lauriston Farm, together
with 4 junipers, 1 yew, 4 oaks, 12 silver birch, 12 hazel, 7 holly.
300 trees destroyed at Hillend – pulled out or cut down.

0 May: Cleared undergrowth round trees at The Knock. Helped establish


Unexpected Garden at Lauriston Farm.

0 June: Tree maintenance at Lauriston Farm market garden – strimming,


weeding, mulching.
Open Day at Lauriston Farm.
0 July: Tree maintenance at Lauriston Farm market garden – brushcutter,
weeding, watering.
Tree maintenance at The Knock – weeding fireweed.
Open Day at Lauriston Farm.
0 August: Tree maintenance at Lauriston Farm market garden – strimming,
weeding, watering, bigger tree protectors. Removal of thistles
from hedgerow, mulching.
0 September: Tree maintenance at Lauriston Farm– strimming, weeding,
mulching. Harvest Festival – first produce from market garden.

0 October: Tree maintenance at Lauriston Farm– strimming, weeding, removal


of thistles from hedgerow, mulching. Another 700 trees destroyed
at Hillend – pulled out or cut down.
60 November: 420 Wild Harvest trees received from the Woodland Trust - 45 to
Andrew for Hillend, 15 to John for west of Scotland. 950 bare root
trees received from IDigTrees – heeled-in at market garden. Added
observations to iNaturalist to record the big increase in biodiversity.
1460 December: 150 trees (hornbeam, alder, downy birch, walnut) planted out to fill
gaps in woodland area at Lauriston Farm, and 1310 Wild Harvest
trees (hawthorn, hazel, dogwood, blackthorn, dog rose) planted out
as shelter belts in market garden.
