The VU agency agreement outlines the obligation of our representatives to screen applicants based on

DHA requirements, to verify/assess if an applicant meets the criteria as a Genuine Student and Genuine

Temporary Entrant.

Please complete this checklist following your assessment. We may decide to contact your

student directly if an interview is required.

5. GTE STATEMENT
Applicant must provide a GTE statement (SOP) that addresses the GTE criteria. Please refer the

applicant to the following DHA link https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-


listing/student-500/genuine-temporary-entrant and ensure their GTE statement (SOP) includes: 

1. Reasons for the applicant to not study in their home country if a similar course is available. 

2. Reasons for gaps in the previous studies (if applicable)

3. Employment details (if applicable)

4. Ties to the home country or country of residence (Applicant needs to show they have significant

incentives to return home upon completion of study)

5. Their economic situation in the home country or country of residence.

6. Value of the course to their future (e.g is the course consistent with the applicant’s current

education level, will the course assist the applicant in gaining employment in their home country,
what is the expected salary in the applicant's home country after completing the course)
