1.INTRODUCTION:
1.1 Uttarakhand Ayurved University (UAU)is the only AYUSH University in Uttarakhand. There are Seven
Faculties to be established in the University. These faculties are Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani, Siddha,
Yoga and Naturopathy, Bio-Medical Sciences, & Pharmaceutical Sciences. The main objective is to promote
the application of basic sciences in the field of AYUSH and evidence-based medicine. Uttarakhand
Ayurved University has its 04 Campuses namely Rishikul Campus & Gurukul Campus at Haridwar (U.K),
Kotdwar Campus, Dist. Pauri Garhwal (UK) and Faculty of Ayurved, Main Campus at Dehradun (UK).
Rishikul Campus, offers Graduate Course (B.A.M.S.) and also have Post Graduate Courses MD
(Ayu)/MS(Ayu) in the Subject of Rasa Shastra evam Bhaishajya Kalpna, Panchkarma, Shalya Tantra,
Dravyaguna Vigyana, Kayachikitsa, Prasuti and Striroga, Shalakya Tantra, Kumarbhartiya (Balrog),
Rachana Sharir, Agadtantra and Vidhi Vaidyaka, Rog Nidan. Gurukul Campus, offers Graduate Course
(B.A.M.S.) and also having Post Graduate Courses MD (Ayu)/MS(Ayu) in the Subject of Panchkarma,
Shalya Tantra, Kayachikitsa, Shalakya Tantra, Kumarbhritya (Balrog). Main Campus, Dehradun offers
Graduate Course (B.A.M.S). The Faculty of Biomedical Sciences is one of the main faculties being
developed on priority basis and going to be one of the centers of excellence in Ayurvedic research.

1.2In addition to above professional courses, other new self-financed Certificate, Diploma and PG Diploma
courses are designed to provide and educate general public, students and professionals with authentic
knowledge of Ayurved and global parallel therapies. University is offering variety of specially designed
courses in various fields. Candidates can get enrolled as per their eligibility and utility. Currently courses at
three levels are being offered viz.
1. Certificate Course in Panchkarma, Certificate Course in Kshara Karma, Certificate Course in
Marma Therapy, Certificate Course in Yoga, Certificate Course in Ayurvedic Dietetics and Nutrition,
Certificate course in Yoga for Better Living, Certificate Course in Ayurved for Healthy Living,
Certificate courses in Life style (Dincharya and Ritucharya), Certificate Course in Insights of
Ayurved.
2. Diploma in Marma Science and Therapy, Diploma in Swasthvritta and Yoga, Diploma in
Panchkarma Therapy, Diploma in Yoga and Naturopathy.
3. PG Diploma in Panchkarma, PG Diploma in Kshara Karma.

Above courses will run under particular departments at all four campuses (Rishikul, Gurukul Campus at
Haridwar, Kotdwar Campus and Main Campus at Dehradun) of UAU. Students will be enrolled with
Uttarakhand Ayurved University. Examination and Certification will also be done by UAU after successful
completion of the particular course.

2. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS, TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

2.1 The applicants are required to fill the application form to register him/her and pay the required
registration fee. The counseling registration fee shall not be refunded under any circumstances.

2.2 The candidates have to submit duly filled application form in all respects along with his/her photograph
& signature in the appropriate box. The candidates are further advised to re-check the entries/information
given by him/her before submitting the same as it will not be entertained once submitted.

2.3 The candidates are advised to retain the photocopy of the form submitted to the University for their
best interest for further reference and queries.

2.4 The candidates are advised to keep at least 05 copies of his/her photographs. The candidates will have to
produce the same copy of photographs for entire admission process.

2.5 Any fresh information will be notified on the university website www.uau.ac.in only. Candidates
must refer the website regularly for any update. No separate intimation will be sent to the candidates.
2.6 Only paying registration fee and appearing in counseling does not confer any right to secure a seat in
Diploma, PG Diploma and Certificate courses. The selection and admission to courses in University Campuses
is subject to fulfilling all the eligibility criteria, selection, preference for campuses and other terms & conditions
etc. mentioned in the Information Brochure and/or amendments made thereafter till the time of counseling.

2.7 In case the information provided by the candidate is found wrong in the application form, his/her
application will be summarily rejected. If any candidate secures admission in the college/institute by
providing wrong information in his/her application, detected later on in due course, his/her admission
will be cancelled at the cost and risk of the candidate. Hence candidates are advised to fill application
form very carefully and re-check before the final submission.

2.8 Candidate’s eligibility is purely provisional and is subject to the fulfillment of eligibility criteria as
prescribed in this Information Brochure, during subsequent verifications of his/her documents at
counseling, admission or afterwards.

2.9 University/counseling committee reserves the right to withdraw permission, if any, granted
inadvertently to any candidate even though he got himself registered and paid the required fee.

2.10 The candidate must ensure before filling the application form that he/she fulfils the eligibility
requirements. The registration fee once paid shall not be refunded in the event of rejection of the
application. Only eligible candidates will be considered for counseling/ admission.

2.11 The candidates are advised to give their complete mailing address, ID proof details and correct
contact telephone/mobile numbers and email in the application form.

2.12 The records of Counseling shall be preserved only for a period of one year from the date of the
counseling.

2.13 All the matters related to counseling, decision of counseling committee and Government of
Uttarakhand as the case may be, shall be final and binding to all.

2.14 In case of any ambiguity in interpretation of any of the instructions/ terms /rules/criteria the
determination of eligibility/conduct of counseling/registration of candidate/information contained
herein, the interpretation of the Counseling Board/ committee as the case may be, will be final and
binding.

2.15 Only those candidates who have accepted all the terms & conditions mentioned in the information
Brochure should apply.

5. REGISTRATION FEE, COUNSELLING-SELECTION, ADMISSION
PROCEDUREAND CAMPUS DETAILS
5.1 Registration Fee is Rs. 1000/- (for Indian nationals) and 100 US Dollar for foreign nationals for
each course.

5.1.1 Counseling registration fee shall neither be refunded nor carried forwarded, if the application for
UAU courses counseling is rejected/candidature is found to be ineligible. Hence candidates are advised to
read the eligibility criteria carefully before applying. Only eligible candidates will be considered for
counseling/admission. Registration fee should be paid by online mode only. No cheque or draft will be
accepted for Registration fee.

5.1.2 Registration is compulsory. Only registered candidates will be considered for preparation of Merit
list.

5.1.2 Candidate has to register separately (by filing separate registration form) for different courses by
submitting respective fees. (Candidate can apply only for one course in single registration form).

5.2 Counseling and selection procedure

5.2.1 For Certificate/ Diploma courses, Merit list will be prepared according to total percentage obtained
in 12th class OR equivalent.
For PG Diploma courses, merit list will be prepared according to total percentage obtained OR
aggregate marks of Undergraduate course in all professional examinations.

5.2.2 Merit list for each course will be displayed on university website.

5.2.3 Candidate is required to fill the preference form and seats will be allotted accordingly. Selection of
colleges/ campus will be according to the choice filled by the candidate.

5.2.4 If candidate has been allotted/ admitted a seat in counselling and if candidate does not report/join
the allotted college within stipulated time, his/ her admission will stand cancelled and next candidate in
waiting list will be considered.

5.2.5 No second round for counselling will be done. Candidates in waiting list will be admitted in case
of availability of seat.

5.4 Admission:

5.4.1 Candidates are required to produce following self-attested documents at the time of
admission in respective colleges along with the original documents for verification.

✓ Coloured passport size photographs (five)

✓ High School (10th) Certificate for Age proof.
✓ Intermediate (10+2) Certificate or equivalent.
✓ Intermediate (10+2) Marksheet or equivalent.
✓ Graduation Marksheets and Degree certificates (in case of PG Diploma)
✓ Valid ID proof (preferably Aadhar Card/Passport/Driving License etc.)
✓ Character Certificate (by last institute attended).
✓ Affidavit of Gap (if applicable- for PG Diploma)
✓ Allotment letter of UAU.
✓ Other documents as per the requirement of the concerned college (e.g. Affidavit of Anti-Ragging,
Medical Fitness Certificate etc.)
✓ Copy of passport with valid visa (for foreign nationals).

5.4.2 Candidates should submit fee in the University account to complete admission process with in the
specified time period.

6.1.1. Fee payment should be done through NEFT / RTGS in-favor of “Finance Officer,
Uttarakhand Ayurved University, Harrawala, Dehradun (Uttarakhand)”. Fees will not be
refunded under any circumstances once paid.

8. COURSE INFORMATION

8.1 Attendance: 75 % attendance is compulsory to be eligible for examination.

8.2 Medium of Instruction: Hindi, English and Sanskrit.

8.3 Course Structure: Classes will commence as per university calendar. Course duration includes
theory, practical and clinical classes, assignments and internship.

8.4 Method of training:

8.4.1 For part time courses (certificate and diploma), students have to attend and complete the
minimum number of hours in respective courses.
8.4.2 For regular course (P.G Diploma): Intensive regular classes and training will be provided in
classical knowledge along with comparative and critical study in the respective specialty. The
emphasis will be given on intensive applied training. The theoretical teaching and practical
training will be as per syllabus specified by the university time to time.

8.5 Project work: Students have to summit the project work on the subject allotted by the guide. The
subject of project work shall be practical oriented and helpful in the development of competence in
the respective specialties. The subject of the project work shall have relation with the subject matter
of the specialty.

8.6 Examination: Certificate and Diploma examinations in any subject will consist of theory, clinical,
practical and viva.

8.6.1 Theory: There will be theory papers as per syllabus provided by the university.
8.6.2 Practical: Practical examination will be conducted to assess practical skill and competence of
respective specialties. Clinical: clinical examination of the subject will be conducted to test/
aimed at assessing the knowledge and competence of the candidate for undertaking independent
work as a specialist. Viva-Voce: The Viva-voce examination will be thorough and will aim at
assessing the candidate’s knowledge, competence, understanding of the subject and
communication skill of concerned subject which shall form a part of examination.

8.7 Minimum passing marks: For both certificate and Diploma courses, minimum passing marks shall
be 50% in theory and practical separately. In case students fails to avail 50% marks or he/she fails to
appear in main examination; the candidate will be given one more chance within six months after
final examination by paying examination fees only. No further chance will be given. Candidature in
this case will stand cancelled automatically.

8.8 Certificates: Marksheet and certificate will be awarded after satisfactory completion of the course.

8.9 Hostel and Transportation: Subject to availability.

9. JURISDICTION

9.1 Any dispute concerning “UAU self-finance P.G Diploma, Diploma and certificate courses
Uttarakhand Ayurved University would subject to exclusive jurisdiction of the competent Hon’ble
courts within the territorial jurisdiction of Uttarakhand only.

10. DISCLAIMER
10.1 In case of incorrect information detected at any stage of the selection process, the candidate will
automatically disqualify from the selection process and he/she will not be allowed to appear for UAU
courses counseling in future in the Uttarakhand Ayurved University, Dehradun. If such instances go
undetected during the current selection process but are detected in subsequent years or later on; such
disqualification will take place with retrospective effect and the Principal/Dean/Director of the concerned
college/institute shall have the authority to cancel the admission of the candidate and to proceed for legal
action against him/her and all the information/documents furnished by the candidate will be
scrutinized/verified by competent authorities further.

10.2 The statement made in information brochure and all information contained herein is believed to be
correct at the time of publication/uploading in the website. However, the Uttarakhand Ayurved University
reserves the right to make any change without notice, changes and additions to the regulations, conditions
governing the admission procedure, conduct of students, requirements for degree, fees and any other
information, or statements contained in this information bulletin at any time. Uttarakhand Ayurved
University will not be responsible for hardship or expense incurred by the candidates or any other person or
persons for such changes, additions, omissions or errors, no matter how they are caused.
