ATTIRE, FABRIC, AND TAPESTRIES INABEL FABRIC
The geographical location in the Lowland Luzon brings about a
warm climate in the area, that is why the preferred clothing of
people in the lowlands is usually made of the light and cool
materials from natural fibers such as cotton.
In Ilocos Region, the inabel, a woven cotton fabric, is commonly

used for clothes. This fabric is made from cotton fiber beaten
(binatbatan) out of the seeds. It commonly dyed with a natural
dye called sagut, but artificial dyes are also used today.

abaca or Manila hemp from Albay, is
used in weaving the baro at saya, a
