Answer: At the end of the play, in the last stanza, page 128 in the

version of the play we've been reading 1) what is the Chorus telling
us? 2) Do you agree with the chorus?

Answer: The chorus makes its final appearance in the play Antigone on
page 128. However, this time the chorus provides no information on the
issue that has occurred or a response to it. This time, the chorus instead
delivers a life lesson that is important for everyone to learn in order to
succeed in life and live a better lifestyle. Wisdom was the word that
caught my attention as I read the short passage where the chorus was
singing, and I think that this is what he was trying to get to. Wisdom
simply indicates becoming wiser. According to what I understand the
chorus to be saying, a man's family, relatives, and everyone else's lives will
be filled with happiness rather than sorrows when he learns to be wiser
and obey the laws of God. Chorus states, ¨Wisdom is by far the greatest
part of joy, and reverence toward the gods must be safeguarded¨. In this
particular section, the chorus refers to Creon, who was once evil but who,
through God's kindness, changed into a wise man yet lost everyone he
loved. Nobody has the ability to change the curse that was already placed
on the entire family. The chorus says that he lost all of his happiness in
life because of his arrogance, which led him to forget about God. Even
though he has realized his mistake and is regretting it, he still has no
other option but to commit suicide and atone for his sins. Being wiser is
really important, I do agree with the chorus. By balancing your needs and
boundaries with others, you are able to contribute more positively to your
community. In the play Chorus states, ¨with mighty blows of fate, and at
long last those blows will teach us wisdom¨. In Creon's case, he didn't do
that at all; instead, he violated every rule and accused others of crimes in
an effort to establish his own laws, which he later came to regret. God is
forgiving, but only for a certain time. As a result, when Creon was old and
wise, he realized his mistake and received punishment for disobeying the
law of God. He lost his wife, son, son's wife, and pretty much everyone
else. Due to Creon's arrogance, no member of his family is left who is still
living. Now, I wonder, where Ismene is and what´s going to happen to her?
