The colour of the compounds did not change, and no other observations were really of

note.

Errors

Systematic error: The plastic cup that contained the solutions were not insulated, and the

top was well exposed to air, allowing heat to escape. To improve, we could use a more

thermostatically stable material for the cup, such as Styrofoam, and contain using

something more than simply a beaker.

Random error: I only started stirring after all the HCl was added, which meant that there

was time that the solutions were not in full contact. To improve in the future, I should find

a way to stir while pouring in the HCl
