THE ARRANGEMENT OF DIFFERENT LAYERS ALLOWS THE USER TO SEE THE OUTSIDE FROM THE INSIDE. THE
HOLLOW CENTER INVITES THE SPACE TO EXPOSE ITSELF, CREATING AN INVITING AMBIANCE FOR THE
CITIZENS. IN TIMES OF CALAMITY, THE CENTER VIEW TRANSFORMS INTO THE EPICENTER OF CHAOS. WITH
EVERY ENERGY SHIFT EVOLVES A REACTION. FROM THE BOTTOM UP IT CREATES AN ILLUSION OF OPENING
TO THE CITY BY EXPOSING THE WALLS, THE TOP FLOORS ALLOW YOU TO SEE THE CENTER, ALLOWING THE
PEOPLE TO SEE HOW THE BUILDING REACTS TO ITS SURROUNDING.

EXPOSURE : LONGITUDINAL SECTION

THE DIFFERENT HEIGHTS OF THE COMMUNITY CENTRE IS A MUTUAL DISHARMONY BETWEEN THE EVENTS
ON EITHER SIDE OF THE OFFICES AND STUDY AREAS. THE WALLS ALLOW THE FLOOD TO BURST IN, ELEVAT-
ING IT TO DIFFERENT USE. THE ORIGINAL SETTLEMENT DETACHES ITS SAFE ENCLOSURE TO AN EXPOSED
EVACUATION FACILITY.

THE PLATFORMS ARE A WAY OF EXPOSING AND ENCLOSING CERTAIN VOIDS TO UTILIZE THE HEIGHT OF
THE BUILDING, THE EFFECT IS TO CREATE MISLEVELED SPACES THAT SEPERATE AREAS YET COMBINE THEM
FROM A SINGULAR SPACE.

FACADE SHIELD

THE WALL PANEL ACTS AS A SHIELD TO ENCLOSE THE INTERIORITY OF SPACES. AS THE WEATHER CHANG-
ES, IT REACTS TO ITS ENVIRONMENT LIFTING ITS FACADE TO CREATE AN UMBRELLA SHADE. AS THE
TYPHOON RAGES THROUGH ITS HARSH PHASE, THE WALL PANEL COVERS THE UPPER LAYERS TO LET THE
GROUND FLOOR BREATHE AND EXPOSE ITSELF TO THE FLOOD. BOUNDED BY ITS FACADE, ITS EXPOSES
ITSELF WHILE ENCLOSING THE INTERIOR.
