EDITORIAL Ata time when the international financial wizards are ing over whether the audiovisual sector should be included in the Uruguay Round of Gatt talks, with all the negative implications for our respective cultural identities, itis heart-rending to discover the extent to which pictures shot by non-professional members of the public, which had for so long, been neglected, are bringing together communities, highlighting, their acts and a spirit which far outweighs the day to day political wrangling which is part and parcel of our daily lives. We should like to extend to you all our best wishes for this coming year which we are sure will be rich in discoveries, exchanges and creations. Scene One opens with the Inedits- Memo double bill, This has been made necessary by the development of our activities, and our desire to latch on to everything that is being said, done, or prepared in cone: amateur films. : We are immensely pleased to welcome Mrs van der Elst, whose skills are known to all, as member of the secretariat of the European Association Inedits. She will be coordinating This year marks the start of @ promising collaboration ith MAP-TV in preparing a European catalogue of amateur films, and there is a prospect of forging links with the United States, Canada and continent. It also heralds the beginning of joint productions which will provide considerable potential for the future, as well as numerous other projects which you discover in the following pages.
