GOOD DAY LIONS AND LIONESSES!

)
I know fully well that this assignment (GS 111) has been a problem to most of us, please don’t

panic because it’s normal, it also happened to us during our own time. That is why I see it very

important to show us an example of the assignment.

R
NOTE:

∙ This is just an example of the assignment, in other words don’t use the same example of
books here.

IE
∙ For those in other departments, please use text books, journals, magazines etc. that

2.0 SEARCH STRATEGY FOR TWO TEXTBOOKS
IG
Ø I entered the library
H

Ø Walked straight to the second floor of the library housing different text books
C

of all discipline, that section of the library is called social sciences and Humanities.
S
IP

Ø Picked the books of my choices in the shelf catalogue

IL

Ø Got the necessary information I needed from it and return it to the shelf catalogue.
H

2.1 SEARCH STRATEGY FOR TWO REFERENCE MATERIAL

P

Ø This section is in the first floor, just the entrance by your left. This place houses all kinds of
E

reference material of all discipline.

T
A

Ø Walked to the officer incharge in the Reference section and she directed me to search for my
N

index.
N

Ø I got an index and checked for my discipline which is Archeology. The index I got
redirected me to the source of material and information I need i.e macropaedia volume 20

and micropaedia volume 1.

)
T
Ø In these macropaedia volume 20, I got the history of Archaeology and in micropaedia

A
volume 1 I got all information fundamental Archeaology.

.N
2.2 SEARCH STRATEGY FOR TWO JOURNAL ARTICLES

R
(M
Ø Went to the Journal Article section second floor up.

IE
Ø Walked to the officer in charge and he told me to fill a journal request, which I did. After

Z
filling the request form he gave me my journal based on my discipline Archaeology and

O
IG
tourism.
H

Ø Got the information I needed from it and I returned it.

C

2.3 SEARCH STRATEGY FOR TWO NEWSPAPER

S
IP

v The Newspaper section is sharing common boundary with Journal article section. In this
section, already the index card and library work book used in getting reference sources are
IL

on the table for use. So I sat on the chair and located topics based on my discipline, got the
H

information and left.

P

2.4 SEARCH STRATEGY FOR TWO TITLE FROM SPECIAL COLLECTION

E
T

This part of the library houses books, titles etc and it is very complex because of it route. I got
A

there, went to the catalogue boxes search for cards bearing /relating to my discipline, this card are
N

arranged alphabetical. So I took the card to the officer who is woman in charge in this section, she
N

told me to wait that she could get the material for me from the shelf, after a while she called my
name because I made the request and I collected, got my title from them and I returned it back to
her. My search in the library was a good and enjoyable experience.
