open, neutral and nonjudgmental, if you listen well, you will prevent yourself from judging the
person

lastly it improves relationships with other people, so those listening techniques will help you
become a better listener and if you are a better listener, you will be able to build a strong
connection to the speaker and build stronger bonds.

Ways on how to become a better listener.

Be fully present, sometimes when we are listening, we are physically present but mentally
absent, right? when the listener is pre occupied and has a lot of things running on her mind, she
will lose her concentration from listening to the speaker. In that case, the listener will not be able
to pay attention. So the listener have to clear her mind of everything else so she can focus
entirely on what the other person is saying, remove the unecessary thoughts that is not related to
the speaker's topic.

Offer non verbal cues that you are listening only if it comes naturally to you.
Example of non verbal cues are eye contact, attentive posture, and nodding or facial expression.
Those non verbal cues are important to show that you are interested to the speaker. buts its hard
to pay attention to someones words when you are busy reminding yourself to make regular eye
contact and to remain your posture, in that case you are forgetting that you are listening. so just
an advice that offer non verbal cues naturally. Because if you are forced to do so, it will just
show that you are uninterested to listen to the speaker.

Pay attention to nonverbal cues,

More examples of non verbal cues are the tone of voice, facial expressionn and body language
Remember that active listening means paying attention to both non verbal and verbal cues to
show that you are attentively listening to the speaker. Because non verbal cues could also help
the speaker deliver her information clearly.

Ask more questions than you think you need to.

This both improves the other person's experience of feeling listened to, ensures that you fully
understand their message and can serve as a prompt to make sure important details arent
overlooked. Better listeners want to check their understanding to make sure they heard the
message correctly, so by asking questions, listener will be able to better understand the
information and asking more questions will show that you've been paying attention to the
speaker.
