Marketing ESSAY

1. Assume you are about to graduate. How would you apply marketing principles to your
job search? In what ways would you be able to market yourself and impress the human
resource specialists to create, communicate, and deliver value as a potential employee,
and what would that value be, exactly? How would you prove that you can deliver that
value?
❖ Marketing a product or service is quite normal, but marketing myself requires
skill, creativity, and transparency to capture the human resource specialist’s
attention. If my competitors submit a portfolio or curriculum vitae alone, I have to
think and act differently in a creative way for me to stand out from my
competition. Instead of a CV alone, I would attach a hard drive (USB) that
contains a video testimony about me and my capabilities. In this way, the HR
specialist could recognize me, and hopefully, consider me for the position I’m
applying for in the company. Ultimately, this idea proves my value of creativity
and how I can think outside the box in normal circumstances.

2. Is marketing always appropriate for political candidates? Why or why not?

❖ Marketing during the political season could be both clean and dirty. Some
candidates ethically market their candidacy, like sponsoring events and investing
in billboards and leaflets containing a picture of their face, name, and running
position. However, there are also inappropriate marketing strategies political
candidates use. For example, they slander their opponents by posting rumors or
fake news on social media. Thus, marketing during the political season could
either be appropriate or inappropriate.
