Dear Visitors,

I am pleased to welcome you to the 14th edition of the

European Higher Education Fair (EHEF), organised jointly by
the European Union (EU) and the Government of Indonesia.

The COVID 19 pandemic shook economies and societies

globally but it also provided us with windows of opportunities.
In the past two years, the Fair was conducted virtually due
to COVID restrictions and this has had both advantages
and disadvantages. Students and scholars across Indonesia
were able to access the virtual Fair and get information about studying in Europe.
However, people-to-people connectivity was missing. This year, we are pleased to
be able to organise a physical EHEF to welcome visitors from Jakarta, Surabaya and
other cities. At the same time, we have set up a virtual event to allow many more
visitors to participate remotely.

I would like to convey my sincerest gratitude to all European universities, EU Member

States and Indonesian International Student Mobility Award (IISMA) for their
availability and willingness to participate in the EHEF Indonesia 2022.

To all visitors, students and scholars, I encourage you to seize the opportunity to
interact with the exhibitors at the EHEF. You will be able to obtain information on
courses offered through self-funding schemes and on scholarships provided by
the EU and its Member States as well as by the Indonesian Government. Last but
not least, our thanks goes to the EHEF Committee members for their hard work in
preparing and carrying out the EHEFs.

I wish you every success in making your aspirations to study in Europe come true. I
trust that this intercultural experience will enhance your skills and competence as
global citizens and create long-lasting friendships between Indonesia and Europe.

With kind regards,

HE Mr Vincent Piket
Ambassador
The European Union to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam
EUROPEAN
Great value for money
In Europe, especially continental Europe, the higher education systems are highly subsidized by their national
governments. Many universities offer high-class education for little money or even free of charge. The tuition fees
of many top universities of continental Europe are on average 75% less compared to the top universities in other

countries. Generally, tuition fees in EU member states are modest, and in some cases may not even be charged.

Summary
The journey of deciding on a university is one of the crucial things in studying abroad. When you are going to
choose a university, you can ask yourself what is your goal in studying abroad, whether to improve skills, gain
knowledge, or broaden your network. Then you can decide what program you want to study and the country you
want to go to. Since we are going to live for a long time in one place during our studies, it is better to choose the
university in the country that we are interested in. Even though the university is the best in the world, if you are
not interested in the country, you will not enjoy your stay there. So, there are two factors that could help you
choose the right university, namely the targeted study program and the country of interest. These two factors
complement each other.

EHEF Indonesia 2022 After that, you can make a plan for your dream university containing information about the university or course

Summary
Writing is an art as well as a skill where you can be better when you do it over and over and over again while

scholarships, aim, and focus areas before starting to write. Read the information on the official website of the

SAY HELLO TO GERMANY
GERMANY
Capital : Berlin
Language : German
Size : 357.340 km2
Populations : ± 83.2 million

Hi! Welcome to Germany!

The Federal Republic of Germany lies in the heart of Europe. It is a cosmopolitan, democratic country with a
rich tradition as well as a vibrant modern life. Germany is one of the world’s strongest economies and offers an
innovative research and education landscape. At the same time, it has a dynamic cultural scene. Germany is the
European Union’s most populous nation with over 83 million inhabitants. It is surrounded by nine neighboring
countries, and its territory encompasses roughly 357,000 square kilometres - stretching from the North Sea
and the Baltic Sea in the north to the Alps in the south. Since 1949 the Federal Republic of Germany has been a
democratic parliamentary federation. It is made up of 16 Länder (federal states), each with its own constitution,
parliament and government. Germany is a modern and open-minded country with high quality of life, influenced
in many ways by multinational diversity. Berlin is the capital of Germany.

Germany is a country characterized by variety. Trendy and modern Berlin can seem a world away from the more
traditional and conservative Munich. The gleaming skyscrapers of Frankfurt form a stark contrast to quaint
Heidelberg. And if bustling and fast-paced Hamburg becomes too much, you can always retreat to the peaceful
and picturesque Middle Rhine region.

Higher Education System

In Germany there are around 400 institutions of higher education*, of which 120 are entitled to award doctorates,
and around 205 universities of the applied sciences. Courses at German Higher Education Institutions cover
more than 400 disciplines, and many institutions offer courses taught in English that lead to internationally
recognized degrees, including Master’s and PhD. Prominent fields of study include: Engineering Sciences, Natural
Sciences, Economics and Business Administration, Arts, Music, Architecture and Design – and there are over 2,130
international programs*, most of them taught in English, listed on the DAAD database. Almost half of Germany’s

Indonesians studying in Germany*. Germany offers various forms of research locations: All in all, there are
approximately 1.000 public-funded research institutions in Germany, plus research and development centres run
by industrial corporations. The annual research budget is about 110 billion euro (www.research-in-germany.org).
