Now we are going to get acquainted with underwater world a little bit. Here are some words
and expressions you’re going to hear in the video. Find their meanings either using a
dictionary or watching the video.

These are blinking lights and fireflies also have it.

What do animals use bioluminescence for?


Some of them use to avoid being eaten and rest of them use to attract prey.

3% of the ocean has been discovered.

What kinds of animals does he mention? (Try to find as many as you can)
Cephalopods, calamari, squid, cuttlefish, octopus, barracuda

What colour do male squids have when they are aggressive?


They have white colour when they are aggressive.

Why does a male squid switch his colour when it’s with a female?
Because he want to show her that he is a kind and gentle squid.

How can octopuses camouflage?


They change their colour and they try to resemble to a common thing, like a rock.

Why do octopuses shoot out ink?


Because Roger (the cameraman) spooked him.

What can an octopus match to its surroundings?


They can match pattern, colour, brightness and texture of the algae to its surroundings.
Would you dive deep into the ocean if you had a chance? Why? Why not?
Yes, i would, because i would be able to see strange and fantastic animals. I would experience
the darkness of the ocean.
