Assignment:

Draw a simplified sketch of atmospheric transmission windows of electromagnetic spectrum (as

shown on slide 24; lecture #7, radiation and atmosphere) on drawing sheet of size one-fourth of
the total (or computer sheet), and explain the different absorption bands (caused by different
atmospheric gasses, e.g., H2O, CO2, O3, etc.) as well as the transmission bands/windows with
wavelength ranges on separate A4 size paper.

Due date: November 22, 2022 (Tuesday). After the due date, assignment will be considered late.

There’s no page or word limit, however, avoid unnecessary detail or explanation.

Note: Please submit a hard copy (handwritten) of your assignment. Your name, registration
number, date and semester should be mentioned on both (drawing sheet and A4 size paper)
pages. You may use color marker/pencil to make the following sketch.
