online shopping habits.

2. Where can you see advertisements?

-It's sad to say, but advertisements are pretty much everywhere. They pop up on websites and sometimes show up in the middle of videos that you watch. Even on social
media, advertisements can appear between the posts you're scrolling through.

3. Have you ever bought something because of its advertisement?

-Actually, yes I have! I once bought a pair of wireless headphones because I kept seeing advertisements for them. They were pretty expensive, but the ads made them look so
convenient. Plus, they were fairly stylish for that kind of accessory.

4. Do you watch advertisements from the beginning to the end?

-Most advertisements make you watch the whole thing, especially if they pop up in the middle of a video you're watching. But if I have the option to skip them, I always do. I
would rather just focus on the thing I wanted to see in the first place.

2#Boring things

1. Do you often get bored?

-Unfortunately, I do. I feel extremely tedious when I'm up to my ears dealing with a lot of homework at school. That's why I always try to make things a bit more interesting
by creating some challenges or playing online games on my phone.

2. What kinds of things are boring to you?

-Most activities that cost a lot of time seem pretty boring to me because I’m not the kind of person who can sit still and work for 10 hours straight. Also, I am easily bored by
the same routine every day, so I change my schedule regularly to keep myself energized and enthusiastic

3. What will you do when you feel bored?

-Well, since I’m a book lover, I usually read books, especially those that are romantic and Scifi-fi as they make me feel excited. Besides, I often spend time watching TV
comedy shows on Netflix, I can actually do that for hours and hours and these are my ways to kill boredom.

me to unwind.

2. Do you think your talent can be useful for your future work?

-Financially speaking, musicians don't usually make that much money unless they are really popular and successful. However, in terms of my career, if I mainly focus on
music, I will probably be able to turn my talent into profit one day in the future.

3. Do you think people in your family have the same talent?

-In my family, no one shares the same talent as me. However, my father is very good at art, and he always draws landscape and portrait paintings in our garden. My dad
taught me how to draw when I was a kid, and it was a painting of my family.
4#Reading Habit

1. Do you like reading?

-Yes, I take a keen interest in reading. I read all sorts of things, including novels, magazines, online articles and the like. Reading is an indispensable part of my daily

3. Where do you like reading books, at home or in other places?

-Honestly, I can read anywhere as long as it’s quiet and there’s no distraction, like, in a park, library, in my bedroom, or a cafe, among others. Moreover, I don’t have any
social media accounts like most people, so reading books is my way to kill time.

4. Do you read electronic books ?

-Definitely yes. I’m a real sucker for e-books as they are portable. I often download my favourite books and copy them to my smartphones or Ipads and when I’m on the bus

playing with Lego was one of the teenagers’ favourite pastimes.

-In my country, people like to collect different objects, such as postage stamps, books and shoes. I think collections can tell you a lot about their owners, such as
characteristics or personalities.
4. Why do you think people like collecting things?

-People love collecting things because it is a pleasing hobby. As I have said, the feeling when collecting our favourite items day by day is really appealing, which helps to
release stress and pressure at work or school.

#6 Watches

1. Do you like to wear a watch?

-I used to wear a watch every day in the past to keep track of time. But now, I don't need to wear one as I have my mobile phone to check the time every now and then.
Moreover, people are too dependent on using their smartphones since it is more convenient and handy.

2. How often do you wear a watch?

-I occasionally wear watches these days because having a watch is not a necessity. It’s more a fashion statement or an accessory. Actually, back in the day, I did have a fancy
Seiko one but it just broke down after 2 years and until now, I haven’t bought a new one yet.

3. What was the first watch you look like?

-It was an electronic watch made by Casio - a brand from Japan and it had a classical design. Back then I was only a little kid, and that watch was quite a trend, so both boys
and girls around my age were crazy about this brand.

4. Do people in your country still wear watches?

-It really depends, some people here in my country, especially the old generation, are still obsessed with antique watches. However, for others like the young, I rarely see
them wearing one, which I believe is because of the popularity of smartphones.

#7 Computers and Tablets

1. Do you use computers?

-I have a very high-tech computer that I place on my desk in my bedroom for doing heavy tasks. Besides, I have a 13-inch Mac Book Pro from Apple that I often bring with

#8 Old buildings

1. Do you like old buildings?

inheriting and passing on that knowledge to the next generations.

3. Do you prefer old or new buildings?

-I do have a special place in my heart for old buildings. However, if I have to choose, I would go for a modern house because I want to enjoy the conveniences of new and
high-rise buildings, where I can have modern facilities and these are something that you can hardly enjoy in an old building.

4. Would you like to live in an old building?

-Although an old building is likely to be an intriguing experience, I do not think it is a good choice to live in. They have often been built for ages, which is unaffordable and
insecure for modern life with many comforts around.

#9 Sitting down

1. Where do you like to sit?

hours and hours in front of the computer for the entire day.

Sometimes for sure. I mean, I think everyone will feel the same when they spend hours sitting down with their computer or textbooks. I drink lots of coffee to keep
concentrating.

I don’t think so. My mother is a cleaning freak, and she prohibits me from sitting on the floor because it is not hygienic.

#10 Meeting Place.

1. Where is your favourite place to meet your friend?

Well, that depends. I sometimes go to restaurants to enjoy the tasty food if my friends find a decent place; and if we have plenty of time, we would like to plan a hike or camp
in the nearby forest park to enjoy the natural life. That would be a very memorable experience

2. Do you think there are some places more suitable for meeting with others?

Absolutely. But it depends. I mean, for those who are very sensitive, as I mentioned, public places are more suitable. But for those who are very easy-going and extroverted,
actually, don’t care where to meet. I mean the location doesn’t matter that much to them.

3. Are there any differences between your favourite meeting places better than others?

No differences. I’ve always asked my best friends to come to my home to hang out. It’s the best place because we can make ourselves as comfortable as we can.

4. Why are some meeting places better than others?

Well, I think it’s totally personal feelings. Some people would prefer open areas whereas others value privacy. So, different people may have different preferences in terms of
the meeting place.

-As usual, I often spend time having dinners with my family. After that, I spend most of the evening in my room reading books or working on class
assignments. As a final year student, I have a lot of important exams to prepare for so I hardly find time for other activities.

3 Who do you usually spend your evenings with?

-As I said, I often spend most of the evening chatting and preparing dinners with my family members, and it feels great. However, at the weekend, most of my
spare time is spent with my friends either at the cafe or the cinema.

4 Are there any differences between what you do in the evening now and what you did in the past?

-Absolutely, there is a huge change. Since I’m both working and studying, and mostly occupied with work, I don’t get enough time to do fun activities. When I
was a kid, I always used to engage in relaxing activities like playing video games with my friends in the evening.

travelled by car is to a beach with my friends, which took us five hours. It was such a long drive but totally worth it!

3. Do you like to sit in the front seat or back seat when travelling by car?

-I prefer the front seat because it gives you a better view of the landscape and the area you're driving through. When I'm in the back, I can sometimes get carsick. I feel really
nauseous, which is the worst. So it's definitely better being in the front.

4. When do you travel by car?

-I actually drive to work every day, so I technically31 travel by car pretty often. However, when it comes to longer trips, I prefer to travel by train. Driving is nice, but you
have to stay focused on the road. As a passenger on a train, you can just sit back and enjoy the nice views.

1.Are you good at memorizing things?

I gotta say I have a terrible memory. I’m quite forgetful and tend to be reliant on other people or reminder apps and other reminding tips to help me remember
things. But what’s funny is although I have sticky notes everywhere in the house, I still forget my car key several times when I go out.

2. Have you ever forgotten something that was important?

Yes, I lost my bookbag when I was a middle school student. I was too sleepy on the bus that went back home on a busy Friday, and when I woke up, I forgot to
take my book bag with me. Besides that, I have not forgotten anything more important.

3. Why do more people rely on cell phones to memorize things? B preference

Probably due to the reason of being busy every day. People are all busy at dealing their work, family, friends and so on, we need to put too many things in our
minds, but it’s just hard to keep everything clear.

4. Why do some people have good memory while others just don’t?
I am not an expert on this, but I think it’s part of human genes or talent, and part of the reason must be because enough professional training. In other words, I

2. Have you ever bought mirrors?

- Not really. I don’t really buy mirrors. Actually, my parents bought stuff for our home. Perhaps the reason is that I’m not really keen on cosmetics and I don’t

gym or playing computer games.

3. Do you want to change your daily routines in the future?

-Yes, of course, I am trying to change my sleeping habit. In the past, I pulled a lot of all-nighters, and would often doze off in class during the day. These days,

Yes, I do. I find it quite interesting. As I have a lot of weird dreams myself, I enjoy listening to those of others. By hearing about their dreams, I feel that I can
gain a greater insight into their subconscious.
4. Do you think dreams have special meanings?

- I think to some extent they do because there have been periods of my life where I felt quite stressed or I felt like at school I have a lot of pressure, maybe an
exam coming up. But when I don’t have stress in my life usually my dreams are not so horrific.
7. Websites
1. What kinds of websites do you usually use?

- It really depends on the type of website. Like, if I want to get up-to-date with the news around the world then I will go on websites like The BBC or CNN. I
also often surf on Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube on a daily basis, which are the most popular social networking sites in Vietnam.

2. What changes in the internet compared to the past?

my leisure time to pursue other interests like listening to American music or going shopping.
2. Do you watch live sports games?

- As I said, I’m not a big fan of watching sports on TV. I can’t stand watching sport on TV for hours and hours since watching it live is just time-consuming.
However, I do play sports as it is my way of keeping myself fit.
3. How often do you watch live sports?
I barely spend time watching live sports since I get extremely bored and disinterested. I usually try to avoid watching sports on TV at all costs unless it’s an

1. Do you like to learn about history?

-Yes, I am a big fan of history, I love learning about inspirational events and well-known figures of the past. For some, history may be such a dull topic to talk
about, but for me, it makes me become more knowledgeable. It helps me understand society and the world bettieler.
2. What historical event do you find interesting?

- Yes, history is the backbone of any society. We can learn a lot from history and we get to know more about the way of life, culture, and traditions of the past
times. Also, we can get motivation by learning about the great achievements of our ancestors.

11. Sweets & Cakes

1. Do you like to eat sweets?

-I absolutely love them. Infact, I have a sweet tooth and I am a chocoholic, so whenever I can, I will just treat myself a bar of cholocate. Nor good for my
health, I know, but I can’t help it.

2. Do you like sweets more or less now compared to when you were child?

-When I was alittle, my parents were so strict with me that they did not allow me to eat any sweets of cakes. They were worried that I would end up getting over
weight. So may be at that time, I had no interests in eating cakes or sweets.

3. Is there any sweet food in your country?

-Oh yes. Actually, I think there are too much of them. Candies, biscuits, cakes, jams, juices and sugary drinks can be found everywhere. I guess a lot of people
have a sweet tooth these days.
4. Do you eat cakes or sweets after a meal?
- Well, as I said, I love sweets, so I often have a bar of chocolate or Kidkat as my dessert after dinner. I also so eat cakes on special occasions like wedding
parties and birthday parties. Sometimes I eat cake at home, which my mother made for me.

12. New places

1. Do you feel nervous when you travel to new places?

- Absolutely, I suffer from great anxiety when traveling. I am always terribly worried about the accommodation, the discomfort of being in an unfamiliar place
where I don’t know the language and people in the area.
2. Can you read a map when you travel to new places?

- Definitely, I could read a paper map, but I always use Google Maps when I visit new places. Sometimes, when I come up with a travel plan and pick some
destinations, I use both online and paper maps which help me avoid being lost.
3. Have you ever helped someone who got lost?

- Well, unfortunately. No one has ever stopped and asked me for direction, so I have never had a chance to do that. But if I were in that situation, I would be
willing to help them out. I believe it would give me a sense of achievement in helping others.

13. Mobile/ Cell phones

1. Do you have a mobile phone?

Yes, I have a mobile phone, and I use it daily to send messages or call my family and friends. Sometimes, I also use my phone to get on to the Internet. I cannot
imagine my life without having a mobile phone.
2. What do you often use it for?

- I use my cell phone on a daily basis in order to keep in touch with my family and my friends as well as surf the Internet. I would say that it is an indispensable
part of our daily life, I cannot imagine a life without a mobile phone.

3. How often do you change a mobile phone?

-I don’t change my phone too often, and I have had my current one for five years. Although my smartphone is now outdated, I would not buy a new one in the
near future. Because this phone still fulfills my needs, and purchasing another one is quite unaffordable for me.
14. Shopping at street markets
1. What do people usually buy on the street markets?

- I'd say people buy lots of things, but the most common items are fresh fruits and vegetables, maybe even meats or fish as well. However, the farmer's markets
in my town tend to sell only fruits, vegetables, and local products such as honey from their bee farming.
2. Why do you think people go to street markets?

- I assume that they often buy some low-priced stuff but of good quality. As you know, most items in street markets are way cheaper than those in shops.
Besides, they want to enjoy and have fun seeing a wide range of items sold in street markets.
3. When you travel abroad, do you go to street markets?

- I don't get the opportunity to travel abroad. However, if I had the chance to go to a foreign country in the future, I would surely visit the street market to get to
know more about their cuisine and cultures, it would be a great experience.

PART 2:

1. A neibour you are interested in

I currently live in a densely-populated area that is surrounded by helpful and wonderful people.. However, speaking of a   neighbour who intrigues / takes my
interest/ interests me the most, I would not hesitate to talk about …………….

When I was in high school, a new family moved into the neighborhood, and they have lived next door to my house since then. The entire family work in the
medical field, with the parents both being dentists. The daughter later persued a career in dentistry, following in their parents’s footsteps.

The daughter of the family is just around my age, and we get along pretty well. She is not only motivated, career-oriented, but also very down-to-earth.

The main reason I think she is an interesting person is because we all share the same passion for books. She is a bookworm who read a lot and has always
suggested me with good books to read. At the same time, she was a funny person, probably the most hilarious person that I have ever known. Besides, one
good thing about her is that she is an excellent English speaker who possesses a a rising and falling English intonation and a perfect British accent.

All in all, it has been a real pleasure to be able to live next door with such a young talented person like her, she is obviously a good role model for me to follow.

Part 3

1.Do you think neighbours’ are important?

Absolutely yes, neighbours are very important. I share in the view that No man is an island. You may not be best friends with your neighbours, but you will
definitely need them in case of emergencies.

2. What are some of the qualities of a good community?

A good community should care for each other. All people in the community should cooperate with each other. They should help each other in times of
emergency. They should all keep the environment clean. They should have frequent get-togethers and celebrate festivals together. If all people of the
community know each other, then miscreants could be spotted easily and everybody would feel safe and secure.

3. Do most Vietnamese people know their neighbours?

In smaller towns and cities, and in villages most people know their neighbors, but in big cities and in metropolis, people are leading self-centred lives and do
not know their neighbors. In small towns and cities life is slower, and so people have time for their neighbors, whereas in big cities, life is fast and so people do
not have time for their neighbors.

4. Now that most people watch a lot of TV’s, how do you think this has affected people’s relationships with their neighbours’?

- In almost every home you can find a TV, this is the 21st century and times are changing, people now prefer to be indoors, spend time with their family and
watch TV programs and do not really make out time to interact with their neighbours except it is necessary. They will say it makes the compound peaceful, and
unnecessary fracas and chaos can be avoided. This is true to some extent.

5. How should (or how can) modern people communicate with their neighbours?

- Modern people can communicate with their neighbours through phone calls, messages, chats, visits, depending on the nature of their personal relationships. In
my compound, we have a WhatsApp group that helps us in communicating effectively, and all matters are handled properly there.

2. Describe a time when you got stuck in the traffic jam

I am currently risiding in Hai Phong, which is the 3rd populous city Vietnam, so as you can probably guess, traffic congestion is definitely something new for
people in my city
I recently experienced such a situation when I was on the bus to the flower exhibition of tulips held in the surburbs of Hai Phong

I vividly remember it was a pretty hot day, and I boarded a non air condition bus. It was fully packed, and somehow, I managed to get a seat, but the journey
was quite uncomfortable. It had been roughly 30 minutes, and the bus suddenly stopped.

It turned out there was a huge jam caused by a road accident , and there was a long cue of vehicles ahead.. It was really difficult to spend the time waiting in
this bus because we were packed like sardines. I could not either play video games on my phone or listen to music, which was quite frustrating Besides, the
constant honking and toxic fumes of other vehicles really got on my nerves.

Eventually, I could not control my emotion over traffic jam and decided to drop off the bus and took a motorbike taxi to get home

All in all, I was really frustrated because a traffic jam completely ruined my weekend.

Part 3:

1. Are traffic jams common in Vietnam cities?

Yes, India has a huge population, and traffic jams are not uncommon, especially in big cities like Ha Noi and HCM city. Moreover, there is also a bad culture of
parking cars on the roads in India, which reduces available space for parking and leads to jams.

2. Why are cities today facing serious traffic issues?

I think the main reason for the serious traffic issues is increasing urbanisation. More and more people are moving to cities for a better quality of life, but this
leads to more cars than roads can handle. Moreover, some older cities have narrow roads as they were not designed, keeping today’s use of cars in mind. These
narrow roads restrict traffic flow and lead to jams.

3. What can be done to improve traffic conditions in cities?

First, I think the government should promote the use of public transportation by making it more comfortable and faster. For example, the traffic conditions in
Delhi have improved considerably after the launch of the Delhi Metro. Also, the roads need to be widened wherever possible to accommodate more cars.

4. Can developing public transport help resolve traffic issues in cities?

I think public transportation can resolve traffic issues but if it is fast and comfortable. Hà nội had local trains for a long time, and people did not prefer them
because they were slow. However, the construction of the Hà Nội, which is quite fast and comfortable, made a real dent in traffic.

3 DESCRIBE AN IMPORTANT RIVER

There’re quite a few waterways that are very important in my country but today I’d like to talk about a river that I’ve always wanted to visit Mekong delta
river It’s one of the world’s longest rivers.

Mekong delta is a vast maze of rivers, swamps and islands located in the Southwestern region of Vietnam. It has a myriad of uses in the region it passes
through

The reason that I think Mekong delta is one of the most important rivers in my country is because first of all, Mekong and its tributaries are essential to rice
production and agriculture in Vietnam because as you might already know rice is the staple diet of our country Apart from rice, the delta also provides various
seafood species to the local economy

Second of all, Mekong River is a hub for Vietnamese culture and a major transportation route for people living in the area as well as for tourists traveling to
Vietnam

Besides, Mekong delta offers many exciting excursions, activities and attractions The floating market is definitely a highlight that’s worth visiting. Tourists can
buy different types of commodities that are locally produced directly from the boats

Those are the reasons that I think Mekong delta is critically important to my county
1. Why do many people like going to places with water such as lakes, rivers, or seas?

People love to go to such places because they have realized the importance of nature in their lives. Moreover, these days all cities have shopping malls and
multiplexes, and individuals find these places monotonous. Due to this reason, the visits to lakes, rivers or seas have grown appreciably.

2. What kinds of leisure activities do people like to do in water places?

The first and foremost activity is swimming. Apart from this ,people indulge in snorkelling, scuba diving, fishing, and a boatload of other activities.

3. Do children and old people relax in the same ways when they go to the beach?

There is a vast difference in the way children and older people relax when they go to the beach. The relaxation of children thrives primarily on the play. Due to
this reason, they indulge in a plethora of activities like beach volleyball, swimming, paras sailing etc.

On the other hand, older people relax by resting on the beach. They do simple activities like making sandcastles.

Part 3

4. Why do people like water sports?

People like water sports because they get unlimited fun and entertainment through them. Apart from this such games are available at a few places, so limited
availability also increases the charm.

5. Do you think the beach or seaside is more suitable for children or old people to spend their leisure time with?

Beach or seaside is suitable for people from all walks of life. Children have sufficient space to play their favourite sports. On the other hand, older people feel
close to nature and relax in such place

4 Describe a special day out that cost you little money

Being a money conscious person, I rarely spend money on things that cost me an arm and a leg, especially when it comes to recreational activities. Today, I am
going to tell you about a little trip to the flower exhibition of tulips held in the suburbs of my city with my best buddies. We had a lot of fun and surprisingly, it
was not costly at all

If memory serves me right, it happened a few months ago. At that time, I was preparing for my final exam, which was quite nerve-racking. Therefore,
one day before the exam, I decided to go on a get-away trip to unwind and recharge my battery.
We took a bus to the exhibition, which was much more comfortable and cheaper compared to renting a motorbike or a car. Since we were students,
we got a huge discount with the entrance fee ( 50% I think). Later, we found everything here was much reasonably-priced than we thought which was
weird because It was kinda a norm for things to be more costly in important events

For example, you could pick flowers from the garden but it was 5 USD for a bouquet! Food and drinks in the café were cheap as well. I still
remember that paying only 2 USD for 2 big ice creams

It is worth mentioning that was the first time that we visited such a tremendous farm and saw such a vast sea of flowers.
All in all, we really had a blast, and this special day out did not cost us much at all

Part 3:

1. Do teenagers spend much more money than before?

Yes, teenagers spend a lot more money than before because the average income of families has grown as compared to the past. Moreover, since there are
nuclear families nowadays so parents like to fulfil the wishes of their children and in order to make them happy, they give them more pocket money to spend.

2. How can people save money as much as possible?

Well, there are a lot of ways to save money nowadays. People can invest their money in small savings schemes floated by the government. They can also keep a
certain amount of money from their incomes every month and save it for later.

3. Did you ever have a bad shopping experience?

Fortunately, I never had a bad shopping experience but a friend of mine was duped by a car salesman who sold him a used car instead of a new one. My friend
discovered this after a week when he took his car for washing and discovered used plastic bottles under the seats of the car. He then complained to the car
company and got a new car after one month.

4. Why is online shopping so popular these days?

Online shopping is popular these days because it provides lot of convenience and better pricing to the customers. People can order anything while sitting in the
comfort of their homes, moreover they get a lot of discounts when they shop online compared to brick and mortar stores.

5. Do you think you can buy something from a physical store without money?

Well, it’s a very interesting question and recently I heard about a technology called amazon go in which you can just walk into a store, pick the items that you
need and just take it away in your bag and money will be automatically deducted from your account. I saw a video of this technology on youtube and I think it
will become a lot more popular in the future.

5 Describe a family member who you want to work with in the future

Well, I would like to talk about Huyen, my cousin , a person I really want to work with in the future

Due to being born in the same neighbourhood, we have known each other since we were both knee high to a grasshopper. We have a lot in common so we
really enjoy each other company. However, we have not been in touch much because her family moved to Da Nang, which is a popular tourist destination, to
run their hotels and restaurants

Huyen is 5 years older than me, and she has a lot of experience in sales as she is the sales leader in her family-owned business . The main reason I want to
work with her is because I would like to learn sales skills from her because it is obviously an important skill for business people. Currently, I am having a part
time job where my main responsibility is selling electronics, and I constantly cant handle the overwheling pressure of achieving sales goals.

Besides, I really enjoy being a team mate with people with kind and warm personality. We get along very well so it would be a real blast working with her

Last but not least, joining her family business means i can have an opportunity to relocate to Dang Nang, where I can appreciate spectacular scenery, have a
dip a world-renowed beautiful beaches and enjoy the most thriving food culture in Vietnam

Part 3:
1. Are there any positive effects of working with a family member?

Certainly, there are many benefits of working with a family member. A family member would be more supportive if an occasional time off is needed. Secondly,
the family member would also be satisfied as he would not have the fear of any outsider cheating him in business. However, one must realise that some work
ethics have to be maintained even if one is working for a family member.

2. What kinds of family businesses are there in Vietnam?

In India, the joint family system is still in trend. Due to this reason, family-run businesses are abundant. The first and foremost is the food business. There is no
denying this conviction that most of the sweet shops in India are run by families. Apart from this, farming is another business that families run. In rural areas, a
sizeable number of households have agriculture as their source of livelihood.

3. Why do people like to set up a family business?

Family business ensures employment within a family. If there is some business know-how to any person, he can start a small business and make it grow with
family support. One does not have to go out hunting for jobs. By having a family business, one can be a job provider rather than being a job seeker.

4. What are the advantages and disadvantages of a family business?

The advantages are that one does not have to go out hunting for jobs. By having a family business, one can be a job provider rather than being a job seeker. An
entrepreneur is his own boss. If the whole family works hard and the business flourishes, it can be a rags to riches story. In contrast, the disadvantages are that if
the business faces a slump, the whole family can turn from riches to rags overnight. The family members may also have conflicts if they feel that some of them
are just reaping benefits without actually working hard.
6. Describe a change you made that is positive to your life

I’d like to tell you about a life-changing decision that I’ve made a few months ago. It was when I decided to lose weight.

At the time, I was a couch potato and truly upset about failing to lose a stone. Fortunately, I read a book that one of my friends highly recommended about
losing weight. And one point in the book that I totally agree with is that the key to losing weight is finding a companion who wants to go through the workout
and diet every day with you.

I started a fitness team with three friends. We always went to the gym together and cheered each other up when we were tired or hungry. It really worked like a
charm; I lost 6 kilograms in a month!

The impact on my health has been tremendous. It is not just about shedding some weight; being physically active really does wonders to my over health. I can
honestly tell the improvement in energy levels, mobility, and sleeping quality. My girlfriend has constantly given me compliments regarding my being a good
shape and it really gave me a sense of achievement.

All in all, the commitment to lose weight is truly one of the most important changes that I have ever made, which positively affects my well-being.

Part 3:

1:- How is your country changing?

My country is evolving in many ways such as online studying option did not come in anyone’s mind, but as we know after striking the pandemic, classes are
taken on various platforms such as zoom, google meet with helps us to ease the problems of studies and so the further loss of students while taking care of
children safety.

2:- What changes have smartphones brought to our lives?

Well, mobile phones have become the heart of human beings, it’s impossible to live without these things. It has changed our lives in many ways, such as during
pandemics, when we were not able to go to the market to buy vegetables, so with the facility of apps with the one-button go, we can buy vegetables and even
get home delivery. Moreover, mobiles helped us to ease some works such as paying the bill online, paying a light bill online, online shopping, etc.

3: Do you think people working from home would be a positive change?

Yes, definitely, it’s a positive change. First of all, it reduces the travelling cost and time. Secondly, they can do home chores simultaneously while doing jobs.
Thirdly, they can spend more time with family members, which they were not able to do in a physical job. Finally, they’ll have flexible timing and can work in
a friendly environment and comfortably too.

7 Describe something that can help you concentrate on work or study

In this day and age, many people are suffering from a short attention span, me included, and I often meditate when I need to increase my concentration span

Meditation is an Asian ancient practice in which an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness, to train attention to achieve a mentally clear and
emotionally calm state

I was recmmended this method by a Buddhist monk a few years back, and I have been regularly practicing meditation since then. I can honestly tell you that it
does wonders to my concentration levels. In other words, it really reduces distractions helps me focus better on my stuyNowadays, we are all bombarded with
notifications from social media and emails, and this really drives us nuts sometimes, and meditation can be used as an effective counter.

Meditation is not a long-term process and thus I perform it different times of the day. Usually, I perform it after waking up and at times I do it in the short
breaks in school.
All in alll, meditation is an effective way to help me avoid distractions and concentrate better on my study. It really improves my academic performance

1. Is it important for children to learn how to concentrate?

Yes, concentration is a very important skill and it is required at a lot of stages in life, like exams and jobs. So children should practice to do their tasks with full
concentration. If someone lacks concentration then they find it difficult to understand things.

2. What can employers do to help employees concentrate?

There are lot of ways in which employers can help their employees in concentrating. Firstly, they can provide them a silent workplace environment. They can
also organize meditation camps for their staff and teach them some concentration techniques.

3. What kinds of jobs require higher concentration at work?

I think, doctors specially surgeons require a high concentration at work. Other jobs are like drivers as they have to always concentrate on the traffic.

4. Have you ever felt difficult to concentrate?

Yes, sometimes I find it difficult to concentrate. The reasons are sometimes internal or external. Internal factors like stress take away the peace of mind and it
becomes difficult to concentrate. Regarding external factors, sometimes people lose their concentration because of loud noises.

5. What kinds of distractions bother you in life?

There are multiple distractions which affect me. The biggest one is my smartphone which keeps buzzing constantly and takes my attention away from studies.
Then sometimes my friends ask me to go out with them and due to this I lose my precious study hours

Describe a quite place you like to go.

It is very difficult to find quiet places in the fast-paced life of today.

However, I would like to talk about a place where I go quite often and I find great peace there. The place I am referring to is ………. pagoda which is a sacred
religious site in the outskirt of my hometown

The pagoda is surrounded by a large pine tree forest isolating it from the hustle and bustle of city life. So, when visiting here, people will feel both quiet, fresh
and peaceful atmosphere in this very ancient pagoda.
Being a Buddhist, I often go there for religious practice, you know things like offering insense, chanting and meditation. I am particularly into meditation
because I can honestly tell you that it does wonders to my concentration levels. In other words, it really reduces distractions and helps me focus better.
Practicing meditation in such religious place really helps me achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm state

I also enjoy wandering around the pagoda where I can immerse myself in the tranquil natural environment, listening to birds chirping among the trees, and
enjoy the breathtaking landscape there.

All in all, I really enjoy the time spent in this quiet pagoda . Living in a city where where almost every corner fis ull of chaos and motorbike horns, it is a blast
to be able to immerse myself in such an enjoyable feeling of quietness.

Part 3:

1. Why is it quieter in the countryside?

The first reason is that there are fewer people in the countryside. You don't tend to have big, noisy crowds in rural areas. You also don't have the sounds of
traffic or construction After all, no one's trying to build a big apartment complex in the countryside, so you don't have to hear construction crews as you do in
the city. When you're far from the hustle and bustle of a city, most of the sounds you hear are just wildlife in their natural habitats.

2 .How has life changed in the countryside in your country?

-Life has changed a lot in the countryside. That is better connectivity with the cities. The villages, which are near the cities, have developed a lot, whereas
those, which are in remote areas, are still neglected.

3. Is it hard to find quiet places in cities?

Yeah, I think it can be challenging to find quiet places in cities. Urban areas are usually pretty crowded, and there's always a lot going on. In the downtown
core, you'd be hard-pressed to find somewhere to hear your own thoughts. But some cities have natural spaces built into their design New York City's Central
Park is one of the most obvious examples. So it's possible to find quiet places if you know where to look.

metropolis

4.Why do people go to quiet places?

I think they go to quiet places to relax. If you spend too much time in noisy and overwhelming places, you can get stressed out really easily. So I think that it's
nice to escape somewhere quiet and peaceful, even if it's just a park m the city. In quiet places, you can and
just relax. That helps you from getting too overwhelmed with your work or studies.

5. Compared with young people, do old people prefer to live in quiet places?

Yes, I do think if retired seniors had the choice, tons of them would choose to live somewhere quiet and peaceful. like in the countryside or the suburbs. As far
as I know, most old people are way more sensitive to noise and other kinds of disturbances, and some of them even have trouble sleeping. So I think that a lot
of them gravitate toward more peaceful places where they won't be disturbed as much

8 Describe an antivity you do to stay healthy

I do a lot of things to stay healthy such as morning walk, yoga, cycling and so on but here I would like to talk about meditation.

Meditation is an Asian ancient practice in which an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness, to train attention to achieve a mentally clear and
emotionally calm state

I was recommended this method by a Buddhist monk a few years back, and I have been regularly practicing meditation since then. I can honestly tell you that it
does wonders to my mental health. It has been scientifically proven that spend a few minutes day meditating is one of the fastest way to alleviate stress and
anxiety.

There are many different meditation techniques, but I but I usually practice mindfulness mediation in which you focus on what you experience during
meditation, such as the flow of your breath. You can observe your thoughts and emotions. But let them pass without judgment.
Meditation is not a long-term process and thus I perform it different times of the day. Usually, I perform it after waking up and at times I do it in the short
breaks in school, and I often have a boost of energy and feel delighted after each session

All in all, meditation is such a powerful technique to reduce stress, control anxiety and promote emotional health.

Part 3.

1. What do old people in your country do to keep fit?

Old people do a lot to keep fit. They do yoga, go for walks, eat healthy food, avoid junk food and take proper food supplements.
2. What kinds of sports are popular in India?
India is a diverse country. All types of sports are popular such as cricket, hockey, football, volleyball, tennis and so on.
3. Do you think young people should play dangerous sports?
Yes, they should if they want to. However, they should do so under proper supervision and after undergoing proper training from licensed companies.
5. What else people can do to keep fit besides sports?
People can avoid fast foods and eat healthy and balanced diet.
6. What can parents do to make their children like sports?
They can make them join sports classes. They can act as role models. If they themselves play outdoor sports, their children will automatically follow them.
Even if they don’t play themselves, they can go out with their children and watch them play.
Describe a surprise that make you happy

I love pleasant surprises as it showcases that somebody is putting effort into making us happy. So, on my last birthday, I received a lovely surprise that left me
almost speechless.

The time was 12 am, and I was scrolling through Instagram, trying to kill time while wrapped up in my blanket in my room. Suddenly, I heard hush-hush
sounds just outside my room’s door. To tell you the truth, I had anticipated something from my family. However, the reality was completely unknown to me.
When they turned the doorknob, I shut my eyes, pretending to be fast asleep. After a minute or so, I heard my parents and sister singing Happy Birthday
unanimously. When I opened my eyes to comprehend the things they were carrying, I was on the clound nine
.
Each one of them had a bouquet of flowers in hand. Along with that, my father was carrying my favourite cheese cake. All of them gave me a tight, blissful
hug, and I cut the cake. Post that, my sister gifted me a little basket that had a cute Labrador puppy. This was the best possible gift as I always wanted to have a
puppy.
I was extremely overwhelmed with this gift and had tears of joy running down my cheeks while the puppy licked them off, wishing me the happiest birthday in
its own way.

Part 3:

1. Why are parties important?

People have parties to celebrate special occasions like birthdays, weddings, or the beginning of a new year. I think it’s important to celebrate these things
because they are landmarks in our lives. Parties are a good way to bring people together, and they’re an opportunity to let off some steam.

2. Why do people throw family parties in your country?

In the Vietnam, people throw family parties for all the same reasons people do in other countries, like traditional holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas.
However, I’m not sure if other cultures do this as we do, but, in general, people here love to have parties! In my family, for instance, my mom will seriously use
any excuse to invite family and friends over for a little soiree. This is more feasible in the summer when my dad can barbecue hot dogs and burgers and we can
hang out outside. So, yeah, I suppose we have family parties quite a bit.

3. Do people spend a lot of money on these parties in your country?

Well, that depends on if they have money or not! I don’t think it’s a status thing, as I believe this question is insinuating. I guess there are some families in the
so-called “one per cent” of society that will lavish great bundles of cash on family get-togethers, but I’ve only seen events like that on TV! I think real people,
at least those in my circles, like to actually do potlucks, where family and friends all bring a dish and something to drink. It’s a communal effort. To my mind,
that’s more fun anyway.

4. What are the differences between serious parties and friendly parties?

I think that there are many differences between these two kinds of parties. In the former, the attire is often more elegant with guests wearing costumes and ties,
while in the latter this doesn’t always happen and they wear more casual clothes, such as jeans, t-shirts and so on. In addition, serious parties are often more of a
professional type, whilst with friendly parties, this isn’t always the case. Moreover, it could be argued that serious parties are mostly held in restaurants or bars
and most of the time are expensive, while friendly parties in houses or cafeterias are cost-saving.
9 Describe an competition that you have entered

Recently, I have entered a contest at work .

About three months ago, I got a part-time job where my job responsibility is mainly marketing electronics. At the end of the probation the boss asked all
rookies/recruits to join a sales contest, and it was for selecting the best sales rep among us as  well as motivating us to make more sales.

I really like this job. But when I started it, I found that it was way tougher than I thought. In the first week, I had the overwhelming pressure of achieving
sales goals. To get it done, I asked my cousin for advice since she's been working in sales for a couple of years. She taught me that almost every client has their
own needs. And the personality and interests of those clients vary from person to person. So according to her strategy, I stopped sharing all of the product's
capabilities all at once. Instead, I asked them questions about their needs, then I shared the value in our product based on what they said.

It was proved that the method worked like a charm. One month later, when our manager announced the results, I was surprised that I was in the top three. So
the boss rewarded me 2000 USD as the prize for my outstanding performance.

I was thankful to the company for their recognition of my ability. I definitely won't let them down

Part 3:
1. Why do you think some school teachers use competitions as class activities?

Competition is the process to move ahead with contemporary situations. It helps to inspire people on performing something very special so that they could be
the best or the winners. Luck has nothing to do here. Sometimes the school teachers use competitions as a class activity for their students with the view to
improve them in their studies. When there is a competition, the students will be more eager to study and the hard labour will bring their victory. They will be
considered as special students than others. Competition among the students helps to bring a positive change inside them. A competitive attitude is a must to
shine in future and if the sense could be grown from the tender age, undoubtedly they will be successful in the upcoming days. Therefore, competition is
considered as a part of teaching.

2 Do you think it is a good idea to give prizes to children who do well at school? Why?

- Prizes are always inspiring. It is a kind of recognition for someone’s work or labour. It helps to get encouragement to perform better. Prizes build confidence
among the winners. When the winners do not get something after their hard work, they gradually start losing interest over the issue. Consequently, their
performances fall to a great extent. By the same way, when there is a competition at school, the children should be given prizes. The prizes help to raise their
confidence level and they could get inspiration too for winning the next competition. By this way, they will be getting stronger day after day to battle and
survive in the future days.

3. Would you say that schools for young children have become more or less competitive since you were that age? Why?

Currently, the schools in different areas try to beat one another in term of good scores performed by the students. In my days, the competition was not so
available because the number of schools for the young children was few. But in the current days, with the advancement of time, commercialization has taken
place in the schools and thus the authorities are trying to attract students and motivating the parents to admit their kids into the school. But if the overall
performances of the school are not considerable, the parents turn reluctant to seek admission of their kids. So, commercialization is a potential ground for the
schools for the young and they try to compete with the other institutions. But in my childhood days, we did not experience such competition rather the schools
tried to inspire us in having a better performance than others so that we could build a better future.

4. What are the advantages and disadvantages of intensive training for young sportspeople?

. Training is a must to master any specific skill or art. It is the gateway to learn and earn skills to be applied in real life. It is the way to make them aware of the
certain issue so that they could perform well during the competition. Intensive training helps to perform the skills by closing the eyes and comfortably. When
the training is provided, the trainees are armed with the necessary visible and invisible tools and use those when necessary. They achieve the right skills and
techniques with the exercise. Moreover, they attain physical flexibility to perform the task which is impossible for the untrained people. But intensive training
has some disadvantages too. It does not allow the young sports athletes to go outside of the training zone. The chances of socialisation decreases and sometimes
they may get a serious injury during the training.
5. Some people think that competition leads to a better performance from sports stars. Others think that it just makes players feel insecure. What is your
opinion?

. Competition helps to build confidence among the sports star and thus they get more inspiration to win the next match or event. Moreover, when they are
inspired, they perform better. It arouses the inside spirit among the sports star to gain in the competition and earn fame in their specific sporting arena. But there
are some other schools that are on the view that competition leads the players to insecurity. This idea is not a worthy one to pay attention. If a player has enough
training and practice over his/ her respective sport, it is not supposed to feel insecure during the competition. The issue of insecurity may arise only if there is
the lack of practice or training of the player. But usually, the players practice more than before during the beginning of a competition.

6. Do you think that it is possible to become too competitive in sport? In what way?

. Competition is part and parcel of sports and sporting events. If there were no competition, the sporting events would have lost their appeal. So, a player needs
to be competitive. But I do not think that a player has to be too competitive in sports. Sometimes the willingness of higher competition

10. An invention that has changed people lives

I would like to talk about the telephone which, in my opinion, is one of the most revolutionary creations that has changed our lives. As far as I know, Alexander
Graham Bell was the father of this terrific device and he invented it in the last century through a lot of trial and error.

It is no exaggeration to say that human life has completely changed since the first telephone was devised. A few centuries ago people could only communicate
long distances through writing letters, which could take ages to be delivered. And in the case of emergencies or confidential information, writing letters really
wasn’t an effective way of communicating.

So, one of the main reasons that I believe that the telephone has changed people’s lives is simply by making communication between people so much faster,
easier and more convenient than ever before. These days when you need to get in contact with somebody, all you need to do is pick up your phone, dial a few
numbers and wait for them to answer. And if they don’t answer, then you can usually just leave a voice message for them to let them know what it is you
wanted to tell them.
Furthermore, I believe that communication is at the core of social development, and I think that the advent of the telephone has made a great contribution to this
area of life.

So, whether the information is urgent, confidential, or even down right unnecessary, I think that the telephone has made a massive difference to people’s lives
and our societies as well.

Sample 2

While the invention of the wheel, the electric bulb, the telephone, the computer are some of the engineering marvels that have affected human lives, however, I
think, think the invention of the internet is the most critical for our lives.

The invention of the internet cannot be attributed to an individual. Its origin is rooted in the USA in the 1950s. With the Cold War at its height, the USA
realised the need for a communication system that could give them an upper hand. Computers were used at that time but were not as sophisticated as we see
them. The scientists needed a system that could help them communicate over longer distances. Gradually, a number of scientists and engineers came up with
the networking technology named the Arpanet. Finally, computer scientists Vinton Cerf and Bob Kahn are credited for inventing the internet communication
protocols that we use almost every minute of our lives.

As aforementioned, the internet has become an indispensable part of our lives in the age of globalization.

People can connect with each other over great distances, participate in seminars and courses without being present at the location, conduct their business and
even entertain themselves. All of these and more are possible just because of the internet.

Its importance was felt severely during the recent pandemic when everyone was locked in their homes. Just because those scientists and researchers had worked
hard years ago, we could communicate, educate, buy or sell and keep ourselves motivated in dire times.

1. How has technology made our life easier?

Different technologies have made our lives easier in different ways. However, in effect, most technologies reduce our labour and save us valuable time, thus
improving our quality of life considerably. They also in a way reduce our need on others because we can do everything on our own.

2. Which invention do you think is the most useful at home?

I think it’s very hard to choose one. It really depends upon the person and their use. For example, I find dishwashers as very useful because in my house, I have
the responsibility of washing utensils. For my mother the answer might be the vacuum cleaner as she is responsible for cleaning.

3. Is it more difficult for old people to accept new technologies?

I think change is difficult for everyone, and the difficulty increases with age because the time we spend accustomed to something also increases as we grow
older. I think rather than looking at it as a problem, we should be focusing on ways to making it easier for our elders to accept them

4. What can be done to help old people learn to make use of new technologies?

Many steps can be taken to encourage the use of new technologies. Firstly, these big technology companies can organise seminars where older people can be
taught about use of latest gadgets. I remember when my mother first bought a laptop, she was offered a free two hour session on its use for the whole week. At
the end of the week, she knew many things, I didn’t. Secondly, family members can also be helpful in helping their parents and grandparents when they are
finding something difficult.

5. Will our life be better if we live without technology?

Technology has improved our life in many ways but it has also brought many challenges. Life would certainly be simpler, but I wouldn’t call it better.
Moreover, I think we have become so accustomed to technology just the idea of living without it is unfathomable.

11. Describe an experience when you lost something

A few months ago, I lost my favourite time piece when I was going on a weekend get away trip with my friends. To be specific, it was a limited edition of
silver-faced watch from a Japanese brand call Casio.

At the time, when I purchased it was 4 years ago, it was priced 200 USD which I think was reasonable considering the quality of the product as well as the
packaging.

Unfortunately, after the trip the watch was never to be seen again. We were having some kind of ice breaking games in front of the glass lawn that belonged to
the villa that we hired for the trip. And the butterfly trap of the watch got loosened on my wrist without me noticing it. Hours later when I started to realize
things, the watch was far gone. My friends and I were trying to find it everywhere, but all of our efforts did not pay off, which was quite frustrating

On the bright side, I have since bought another watch from the same brand that resembles the same watch that I lost. But I guess I learned a lesson in a hard
way which is not to bring anything too valuable with me on a trip.
Part 3

1. Why do people lose their things?

These days whenever we move from the house, we have so many possessions to carry like the cell phone, the shades or spectacles, a wallet, car keys,
and much more. I carry an organiser with me; otherwise, every day, I may get rid of something. I’ve discovered that a number of my buddies always
waste precious time searching for lost or missing possessions. I believe those who lose their things very often aren’t well organised.

2. What type of things people normally lose?

We shed many things every day at home or outside. Sometimes we lose keys, and on most occasions, we misplace a spoon, clips, a set of socks instead
of one out of a pair. I have a few dozen lace at home. Everything you Shed mostly depends upon the situation and the place where you go. Sometimes
people get pickpocketed and lose valuable things such as mobile phones. Recently one of my friend’s pocket has been picked, and he dropped his cell
phone on the new year’s eve.

3. What can people do to find things they have lost?

In my opinion, the first step would be to attempt to Remember about the areas one has visited when you attempt to look for something that has been
lost. It is better to take a person in confidence and produce a collective search, as two heads are always better than one. If something is of Great Value
and valuable, is it best to report to the authorities. Another thing that may be taken is to set a note to produce others realise you have lost something
and where they have to return it in the event they find it.

4. What can people do to avoid losing their stuff?

Most of Us know that we have to be The documents should all be kept in a file and be carried in a bag if we don’t Want to shed them. The keys should
always be at a key-chain. The cash should Always maintain a wallet in a profound or secure pocket so that it will not fall off. Last but not least is
maintaining the items well organised at their appropriate place saves plenty of time and squandering of money.

12 TRADITIONAL PRODUCT

I ’d love to talk about rice, the most important agricultural product in my country.

Ever since I was in my early elementary years, the rice plant has appeared in almost every subject, from literature to natural science to geography. And even in
real life, the rice plant can be spotted all across the countryside around Vietnam.

It never ceases to amaze me how such a simple plant could support a whole nation’s economy. Up to this day, millions of Vietnamese families are still
dependent on the cultivation of rice to make ends meet. And the fact that Vietnam has become one of the world’s leading rice exporters is more solid proof of
the relevance of this plant in my country. Besides this, rice has been an indispensable part of the main meal of most families for centuries and children practice
the habit of eating rice from a very young age, and as for the older generation, they cannot go a day without rice in some form or another.

Over thousands of years, the rice plant has played a really important role in Vietnamese culture and many traditions and ceremonies originate from the farmers
hopes for an abundant crop, and many of these traditions are considered important established customs to foreign visitors. I think that the rice has become one
of the greatest symbols for the Vietnamese spirit and deserves large appreciation from all generation

Part 3:

1. Which are more popular in your country: fast food restaurants or traditional restaurants?

They’re both popular, but it different ways and for different reasons. I think fast food restaurants are popular for grabbing a quick bite or snack, as they are
‘fast’ and you can usually find one nearby. Traditional restaurants are more popular for special occasions or going out for lunch or dinner at the weekend when
people have more time to sit and enjoy the food and the ambience or atmosphere of the place. They usually cost more too, so maybe people don’t go as often,
but they’re still popular. I don’t think anyone would consider going to a fast food place for a special occasion – unless it was a kid’s birthday party or something
similar, in that case it makes a lot of sense, as some of these places cater specially for such events.

2. Why do you think people go to restaurants when they want to celebrate something?

I guess everyone has their own reasons, but probably because it’s not something they do every day, so it seems more special, especially if it’s an improtant
occasion. The other big benefit is that nobody has to do the cooking or clearing up afterwards so everyone can simply enjoy the celebration or event whichever
it is. Nobody has to do anything. It’s always nice to be waited on, so I think that’s why most people prefer it.

3. Why do you think that is?

Why are they both popular? I think it’s because they both have good and bad things about them – they both cater for different needs and situations, and they
both do what they do well, I suppose it depends on what you are looking for when you want to eat.

4. Some people say that food in an expensive restaurant is always better than food in a cheap restaurant – would you agree?

In my experience it’s not that simple. I’ve had some amazingly good food in cheap restaurants and some disgustingly bad food in a supposedly classy and
expensive place. I think that’s why ‘word of mouth’ advertising is so important in the restaurant business. You simply can’t guarantee that a place that looks
expensive and charges a lot of money will indeed offer a better dining experience than a cheaper restaurant with fewer frills. The service can be just the same
and quality.
13 Something you do to keep fit

Jogging is an activity that I do on a regular basis to stay healthy.

If memory serves correctly, it was about 5 years ago when I was up to my ears with study to prepare for my graduation examination . I was a little bit stressed
out. Then I thought that I needed to do something energetic to release some stress, so I decided to give jogging a go.

At first, doing this was quite challenging for me because I led a sedentary lifestyle. I was a couch potato who sat in front of my computer every day to complete
my assignments. But after a few days of suffering from muscle aches, I have gotten used to jogging and have kept doing it in the evenings.

Well, I have to say that this sport has helped me a lot in strengthening my physical health as well as my mental health. Thanks to jogging, I was able to lose my
fat belly and get lean. Now, to be honest, I’m quite satisfied with my youthful appearance and trying to maintain it. Also, jogging allows me to unwind and
enjoy fresh air, and whenever I go jogging I feel like my mind is being refreshed.

In the future, I am going to recommend it to some of friends and hopefully we can form a team which can be very interesting.

Do you think people pay enough attention to their health today?

Times have changed, I believe. There was a time when people stopped caring about their health but I believe in recent times, people have again become more
aware of their health. Most people prefer doing some sort of physical activity in their lives to make sure they are healthy. When making small decisions like the
food they prefer, people are going for, much healthier foods.

Do you think most people worry more about their health as they get older?

Definitely yes. I think as the person starts getting old, they start getting the signs of bad health. It is during that time that people realize the importance of health.
So, one can see a lot of old people going out for walks or jogging.

What are the most popular ways of keeping healthy in your country?

The ways by which people stay healthy in my country is usually divided into age groups and sometimes their income as well. So, the younger group is
usually found in the gym or playing a sport. With age, the older generation prefers walking or jogging along with nature. With different income groups, the
higher ones usually have their personal trainers, while the middle of the lower finds out ways for themselves.

Why do you think some people continue bad habits when they know that they are damaging to their health?
The only reason that people have for continuing their bad habits is that they have become their habit and as they say bad habits die hard. So, even when people
know that it is harming them it is quite tough to stop doing things that they have inculcated in their routines for a long period of time.

Do women pay more attention to their health than men?

In my country, women are always more concerned about their men and their family more than they are about themselves. But as an individual, I think yes, a
woman makes sure that she does not indulge herself into the habits that are not good for her health.

Do you think people in your country are less healthy than they used to be?

Yes, definitely. I would argue that the invention of TV has led to people being much too sedentary. I know some people who refuse to have a television because
they think that without one they are much more likely to keep active – it’s all too easy to become a coach potato.

Also, most people work in offices so they just sit in a chair all day long and only move to go to the photocopier. That’s very unhealthy. People used to work in
rice field

and so be on the go from morning till night. Obesity was unknown then, except among the super rich, I imagine.

How can we encourage young people to stay healthy?

There are a number of ways. Firstly Parents should set a good example. But I strongly believe that schools have a crucial role to play. Not only can they
offer a wide range of sports for children to play, they can teach them about eating a balanced diet, and the negative effects of eating junk food and not
exercising. If children don’t hear all this from home, they have to hear it from somewhere, and I would argue that it’s the schools’ responsibility. Schools can
organize sports activites to encourage young individuals to participate in physical activities

Should governments intervene to force people to be healthier?

Hmm, I’m highly sceptical of the idea that governments should force their citizens to be healthy. People ought to be encouraged to lead healthy lives, but not
forced to. They could, for example, run an ad campaign showing people how to eat a balanced diet – that you need to eat some carbohydrates, some vegetables
and fruit, some meat and so on. I think most people don’t know that.

14 A contest or competition you would like to participate

I have attended many competitions in different phases of my life and have won some prizes from those competitions as well. One such contest that I would like
to join is the local jogging competition held by the local council next September

If memory serves correctly, it was about 5 years ago when I was up to my ears with study to prepare for my graduation examination . I was a little bit stressed
out. Then I thought that I needed to do something energetic to release some stress, so I decided to  give jogging a go. After a few days of suffering from muscle
aches, I have gotten used to jogging and have kept doing it in the evenings.

A couple days ago, I noticed an advertisement in our local newspaper that a jogging competition for amateurs would be held next week. The entry fee is free
and the prizes will be given to the first three runners . I had a passion for jogging and I love the fact it is more like a community activity to promote people
awareness about the importance of being physically active.

I have already registered my name in the competition and I am planning to convince some of my classes to participate. The total distance is about 5 miles so it
would be a great idea to form a team and start training soon. Together, we can cheer us up whenever you are tired and I am sure training with them would be so
cool.

1. Why do you think some school teachers use competitions as class activities?

I think teachers use competitions to motivate the children in their classes. I'm sure that teachers try all kinds of activities to engage their pupils, and
competitions might be one of the best ways to keep children interested or get them excited. Children love winning things.

2. Is it a good thing to give prizes to children who do well at school? Why?

It might be a good idea to encourage children to do well in games or sports, but I don't think we should give children prizes for their academic work. Children
need to learn that the reason for studying is to learn useful things that will help them in their lives. I don't like the idea of children thinking that they will only
work hard if there is a prize.

3. Would you say that schools for young children have become more or less competitive since you were that age? Why?

I'd say that they have become more competitive since I was young. Children now have to take exams from a much younger age, so I think there is more of a
focus on doing well in tests. Parents also seem to be getting more competitive; I think that many parents push their children to do extra homework rather than
letting them play with friends.

4. What are the advantages and disadvantages of intensive training for young sportspeople?
There are a number of advantages of intensive training programs for young sports people, but the main one is that it helps them become physically and mentally
tough to face the challenges in the real world. These training programs also help bring great team spirit among the young people by making them more helpful
and generous to others in general. However, one of the major disadvantages of such intensive programs is that they can inflict serious bodily injuries,
sometimes life-threatening, on young people. The young people may also suffer from a tremendous amount of stress and anxiety due to the serious nature of
these intensive training.

5. Some people think that competition leads to better performance from sports stars. Others think it just makes players feel insecure. What is your
opinion?

Feeling a certain degree of insecurity in our society is real whether there is a competition or not. Therefore, in my opinion, when there is a competition, it is
only natural that the athletes will nurture feelings of insecurity because they try to prove something to someone by performing better than others. Unfortunately,
that very pressure makes it so that failures feel much bigger than their successes. So I believe that healthy competition should be encouraged in a positive way
to bring out the best among the athletes, and they should be motivated to rejoice in their personal successes.

6. Do you think that it is possible to become too competitive in sport? In what way?

Of course, I think that it is possible to become too competitive in sports since some players would want to win at any cost even if it means using some unethical
means to achieve their goals. That’s exactly why we constantly hear news of performance enhancing drugs, used by some athletes, almost on a regular basis. In
fact, it is because of this type of competitive overdrive that we see players abusing each other physically and verbally on the fields, which is absolutely
unacceptable behaviour by any standards.

15 Something that surprised you

No doubt, surprises and good news always delight a person and bring a huge smile on their face. Though there have been many surprising moments in my life.

But one that I am going to share here is the surprise: that my sister gave me on my …..birthday which was just a couple of weeks ago . My elder sister, who has
been living in Canada for a long time now, couldn’t travel to Vietnam for almost 3 years due to the covid travel restriction.
On my birthday party, I was on cloud nine to see her on the doorsteps as she did not inform me about her visit ; she gave me a warm hug and wished me happy
birthday and handed over a parcel to me. As I opened the parcel, I couldn’t believe my eye because it was the latest iPhone handset that I was dreaming for a
long time I was super happy on this day because nothing could have been a better gift for me on this special day.

I was also supper surprised because she already arranged a celebration in a fancy restaurant where she had already invited all her friends and relatives. I was so
happy and grateful to my sister, who made all these arrangements. We all enjoyed the party to the fullest, and it gave me the chance to share my happiness with
everyone.

Yeah, this was the most pleasant surprise that I have had recently

16 A change you made in your daily life that saved you a lot of time

The positive change that I would like to talk about is getting up earlier, which helps me to save a lot of time.

Just a couple months ago, hitting the sack ( ngủ) early was impossible because there were so many temptations during the night time that kept me awake for
hours such as the latest episode of The Walking Dead, having a chit chat with friends on facebook ỏ the fact that I simply wanted to meet a deadline because I
had been procrastinating for a month.

I had no choice but to give up that kind of toxic habit simply because I was fully aware of how destructive this sleeping habit could be for me, both physically
and mentally

Of course, the journey was challenging at the beginning as you know old habits die hard ( cười :D). but after a week or so, I have gotten used to going to bed
before 10pm and getting up early and honestly I have become much better at managing my time.

By sleeping early, I can utilize my evening hours to rest instead of doing some meaningless time

I can use this peaceful and quiet time in early mornings to plan my day ahead, allocating a certain time frame for each of my tasks. Mentally working out my
day before I start enhances my organizing skills, promoting productivity and saving a lot of time during the day the not knowning what to do
Part 3

1 What can people do to save time?

2 Does technology help people save time? How and why?

3 Do you think parents should be responsible for teaching children to save time?
4 Do people who can manage time well become successful more easily?

17. A place you visited that you would recommend as a good place ( nói lại bài đà nẵng, bài này đơn giản tự chém đi)

nhớ paraphrase recommend – suggest – recommendation

good/ ideal place/ destination

18 A time you used a phone to do something very important

And here I would like to share the incident when I used my phone to find my father’s lost mobile phone.

Actually, almost a month ago my father went to the market to buy some groceries. But when he came back, he was pretty disappointed as he had lost his phone
in the market. I instantly tried to call the number but no response despite several attempts. At this point, we understood it must have gone into the wrong
hands. It was not only an expensive device but had a lot of important information such as contacts, messages, photos and others.

When everyone lost hope, I decided to track the mobile. Fortunately, my dad phone and mine are both Iphones . With Family Sharing set up on Apple store , I
can view the location of all the devices linked to my family member's Apple ID . Within 5 minutes I found the location of the handset which was at a local
mobile phone store where a junky was trying to sell my father’s phone. I immediately visited the nearest police station and narrated the story. The police officer
accompanied me to the outlet and arrested the thief and returned the mobile phone.
My father was extremely delighted to get his mobile phone back and he appreciated and felt proud on me for the way I handled the situation.

Overall, it was the time when I used my mobile phone for something important.

Do you often switch off your phone?

No, I usually just turn off my phone at night because I once read an article that said that keeping the phone connected can disturb our sleep. Also, when I need
to focus on an important work or when I'm on an airplane, I'll put it on silent or disconnected mode.

Are there any places in your country where mobile/ cell phones are banned?

Of course, in life there are many situations where we should not use cell phones. For example, using a mobile phone while driving is against the law and
violators will be heavily fined. In addition, we are not permitted to use mobile phones in certain museums, gas stations or other restricted areas where the
telephone connection may cause interference, posing a threat to everyone's safety.

Advantages and disadvantages of mobile phones?

I think the cell phone, especially the smartphone, is one of the most exciting inventions to date. They have changed the way people communicate, entertain,
study and work. With so many functions and compatible apps, these handy little devices have made our lives so much easier and more comfortable. Now
people can play games, watch TV, enjoy music or go shopping with just one mobile phone right in their home.

However, everything has two sides and mobile phones can also cause adverse effects on the health of users if we abuse it too much. Too much screen time is
not good for our eyes and can disturb our sleep. In addition, mobile phones can make it difficult for people to focus on work and study, leading to low
productivity and inefficiency.

Do young people and old people use mobile phones the same way?

Of course not. While elderly people tend to use phones for basic functions like calling or texting, mainly for communication purposes, young people use this
device for various activities such as keeping in touch. with others, take pictures, relax and entertain, take notes, make plans, learn languages or even to work.
Therefore, they spend more time on mobile phones than the elderly.

Should children be allowed to use mobile phones? At what age?

I will say yes. The most obvious reason is that most parents nowadays are becoming busier with work while their children tend to spend more time playing
outside than at home. Therefore, mobile phones make it possible for adults to keep an eye on their children to ensure their safety. Besides, children also need to
communicate with their friends and teachers. I think teenagers should be allowed to use cell phones under supervision, maybe from 12 years old.
Why are young people addicted to their mobile phone?

This is mainly because this device has a lot of features and meets all the entertainment needs of children. With a smartphone, they can do almost anything, from
surfing the Internet, playing games, chatting with friends, listening to music, taking pictures, watching movies to learning languages.

Another reason is that nowadays most parents seem to be too busy to spend time with their children and even let them use smartphones unsupervised. It is easy
to understand why young people tend to spend so much time on screens.

Do you prefer face-to-face conversations or conversations by phone?

I genuinely prefer a face-to-face conversation as I feel that is a more personal way of talking to somebody. These days, with mobile phones gaining popularity,
people have stopped spending time with each other and continue neglecting their loved ones. While phones are necessary, they should not create a hurdle
between one another.

19 Describe a time someone asked you for your opinion

I’m going to tell you about the tume when I told my friend, Lisa, an honest opinion

Several weeks ago, she came over my house to tell me about a novel writing competition for scifi novels that she was really interested in. She came up with a
good frame for the story and I still remember clearly that the story begain with a man who discovers the existence of an alien civilization. The aliens intend to
send warships to attack humans.

Honestly, it was a cheesy story but since she was over the moon telling me about it so I didn’t stop her and kept listening to the whole story.

After finishing, I asked me about my opinion about her story and wondered if her story was creative enough. I decided to tell her the truth that the story wasn’t
fascinating enough and she needed to come up with more creative ideas in a polite way. She was really upset at first but still took my suggestion and ended up
getting into the final round.
She thanked me for telling her an honest opinion instead of giving empty compliments.

Part 3

1. Have you ever asked someone for his/her opinion?

2. Why do some people react impolitely when listening to someone’s story?

20 Somebody said something positive about some work that you did

I am going to tell you about the compliment that I got from my uncle ( Marky) when I helped his 10 year-old son with a math final exam.

It was the time when my cousin was going to sit for a competitive exam, and he was pretty weak at Math. Unfortunately, my uncle was only aware of his
son’s weakness not until one month before the exam. He felt very anxious and tried to arrange some tuition classes for his son, but everything has gone in vain
because my cousin did not get a long well with the tutor

Since I have a knack for math subject and the fact that my schedule was not too busy at that time, I decided to give him a hand by arranging some private
lessons after school. Then, within one month, his son overcame his weakness and became ready to give the exam. In fact, I not only patiently taught him all
the basic math equations and formulas required for the exam, but also gave him some tips and strategies to learn Math easily such as making a study schedule
or maintaining a mathematics notebook

Finally, it was my real reward when my counsin passed the exam with flying colors, and my uncle gave me a lot of positive comments about the work I have
done and told me that he and his son were really thankful for my help and this really gave a sense of fulfilment.

1. Do people in your country like to give other people compliments?

Generally no. I don’t think people are good at giving praise or expressing love, but we often show that in the way we treat others. Some people are just mean
and never want others to be better than them so obviously they would never give a compliment.
2. Do you think children need encouragement?
Of course. Everyone, not just children, needs encouragement in order to become better. However, children in particular need encouragement most, because they
are most vulnerable and insecure. Continued reassurance is very necessary to give children confidence and motivate them to realise their potential.
3. Is it necessary to punish children?
Yes, when they make mistakes. Punishment would make them learn a lesson and refrain from making the same mistake again. But I think the punishment has to
be related to the mistake in some way in order to be effective. For example, if a child steals money then he should have his pocket money taken away for some
time. At the same time, rewards are also needed if a child does something good, like having a good grade or helping somebody.
4. Do adults need feedback on their work?
Everyone needs feedback on their work in order to improve. We always need different perspectives to perfect even one small piece of work. However, too
much feedback may be counterproductive as you don’t know who to listen to. It is therefore important that you only ask for feedback from trustworthy and
reliable people.
5. Which one do you think is more important? Encouragement or punishment?
Both are equally important I guess. Punishment makes a child learn a lesson and prevent them from making the same mistake. Encouragement rewards a child
for good behaviour and motivates them to keep up the good work.

21 Describe a time when you were very busy

One such busy time I really remember was the time when I had the deadline to submit my final eassay which is the ultimate assignment to pass the high school
entrance exam. ( vì học sinh có cả c3- và đại học nên a để c3 cho phù hợp tất cả)

This essay is of great importance to me because it will decide whether I can get through the final exam with flying colors or not. I had just 1 month to complete
it but I also had a part time job which accounted for 4 to 6 hours per day so I had hardly few hours left for final essay . I was also a procrastinator who always
waits until the last minute to do anything which made me fall behind my schedule for my essay submission.
Moreover, the topic of the esssay was really complex and challenging, therefore, I had tons of tasks waiting for me to be carried out such as collecting data ,
doing group discussions to brainstorm good ideas. I even didn’t have time left for my personal stuff. To be more specific, I did not spend timn visiting my
parents for the whole month even though they were in the same town. I couldn’t also visit some close friends, which I did not feel good about it

However, I knew that I had to stay motivated and productive to get through this hard time. I worked hard and put a lot of time and effort into it to meet tight
deadlines and get the best results for essay

For the sake of that, I got a straight ‘A’ in my essay . At the end of the day, it was well worth the effort and time!

1 Do you manage your time effectively?

It really depends on what I’m doing. If I’m feeling lazy. I tend to do whatever first comes to mind, but when I am more active, I usually organize what I’m
supposed to do by importance. Sadly more often than not I forget to organize my thoughts and end up wasting a lot of precious time. But I’m working on
changing all that.

2Do you like making detailed plans?

I don’t usually make detailed plans for the work I’m doing, but I really like the outline method, where you just list the main points and sub-points of your
project. Then you can clearly see what you need to accomplish and how realistic your time frame needs to be. But for the most part I don’t particularly like
drawing detailed plans.

3What are the advantages of making plans?

One advantage, like I said before, is that you can clearly see what it is you need to accomplish and better plan about how much time you need to accomplish it.
Another advantage is that important details are less likely to be left out. Quite a few times I’ve had to go back and redo something that I was working on just
because I overlooked a small but important detail, which in the end cost me a lot of extra time, and sometimes money. Thankfully I’ve been getting better at
time management and have fewer problems than before.

4Do you use any special tools, such as a computer, to help you draw up plans?

Like I said. I’m an extremely lazy person, so I usually try to be as simple as I can when drawing up plans. I’ll usually use a sheet of paper and a pencil to write
up whatever it is I’m planning. The only problem is that I often lose the paper and have to go back and rewrite it. This is, in my opinion, a huge waste of time,
so I’ve been thinking about using my computer to make my plans, and hopefully save time… and paper.

5Do you keep a diary?

I’ve tried on several occasions to start a diary, but I usually forget about it after a week or so. I think I’ve started about seven diaries in my life time, and the
longest one lasted for about 2 months. Diaries just don’t seem to work for me, so I think I’ll spend my time doing more profitable things, like playing my guitar.
Maybe some day I’ll start a diary and actually keep it but for now I think I’ll just stay away from them.

6Compare the way old people and young people spend their leisure time.

Many old people spend their leisure time indoors, sitting down, reading a book or resting; or they might go outside for a brisk walk in the evening. Many of
them enjoy watching TV or knitting. Young people, on the other hand, enjoy a variety of things. Many do the same things I mentioned that old people do, but in
my opinion there are many more options available if you are young. You can play sports, go clubbing all night, participate in extreme sports like bungee
jumping or sky diving—that might give an older person a heart attack.

7Do people today have more leisure time than before?

I think that since modern appliances have cut down the amount of unnecessary physical work we need do, there is more time for leisure. You don’t have to
gather wood to make a fire, and you don’t have to spend 1 or 2 hours lighting your fire. Cell phones and instant messaging make it possible to communicate
immediately with your friends and associates, cutting back on time needed to wait for telegraphs or snail mail replies. The only problem is that even though
everything is so much easier, there are other complications that people in the past didn’t have, such as traffic jams and long lines at the supermarket. Also it
really depends on the person, because I know some people who never rest or take time off. They’re always working and never stop. But I also know some guys
who are the total opposite: they make every excuse why they can’t do what’s being asked of them, and I imagine that in the past it was the same.

8Do you think leisure time is important? Why?

Yes, I think that leisure time is very important. Like the saying goes, “all work and no play makes jack a dull boy.” If you’re working nonstop and never take
the time to let your hair down, you’ll most likely get stressed out and even get sick. If I don’t take some time to just relax a bit every week, I end up getting
sick, and have to stay in bed for a few days. So in my opinion leisure time is vital to maintaining health and sanity.

9 How do you think leisure-time activities will change in the future?

You know what? I have absolutely no idea! I mean, 10 years ago, did you think that modern technology would be as advanced as it is now? They have mp3 and
mp4 players, who knows, they might come out with an mp5 next year where you actually experience what you’re seeing. Computers are getting smaller and
smaller, someday you might have to use a microscope to view your computer screen. Music players for that matter are also gelling smaller, slimmer and more
compact. A few years from now you might be able to get an mp3 player in a little chip under your skin that’s controlled by your brain.
22 Describe a friend you enjoy talking with ( chém giống bài hàng xóm)

Do you think childhood friendship can last for long?

Yes, I truly believe that childhood friendship can last forever since in childhood, we make friends without any condition or selfishness. Being a child, one is
innocent and thus, one is able to find friends according to one’s liking and disliking. However, in adulthood, there are a number of factors that are responsible
to choose someone as friend, for example, appearance, status, wealth etc.

Is it important that people should have good friendship while at work?

Definitely, it is essential for people to have friendship at the workplace because if you are being treated as a good friend, you can work better being surrounded
by a positive work environment. It is even important for those employees who work in teams as they are able to achieve their targets and goals if they know
each other well being friends.

Do you think companies should let the employees gather together for socializing in order to be successful?

Yes, I think that companies should allow the employees to socialize with each other because in this way, they are able to understand each other well and they
would be able to work in stress-free environment as well as able to effectively achieve their targets set on their jobs. For example, employees of some
companies discuss about projects during their lunch hours and since they mix up well, they are able to deliver their best at work.

Did you ever see a celebrity in your life?

Yeah, I happened to see a celebrity recently in a music show. I got the chance to see the famous singer Arijit in his music performance in a big hotel in
Mumbai. Since I am his big fan, I bought tickets for his show and was able to see him performing live among the audience. It was such a mesmerising
performance that I would never be able to forget this moment in my life.

Do you remember the friends you had made in childhood?

Yes, I very well remember my childhood friends. They are actually in touch with me every time though social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter and
WhatsApp. A number of times we meet together in family functions and festivals to celebrate. The kind of friendship we had since childhood, we cannot forget
at all and we would continue this in the future as well.

Is it easy to make friends now as compared to the past?

I think it is comparatively easy to make friends now as compared to the ancient times when there never used to be so much technology available and the mode
of communication had no existence at all. But now, you have social media websites where you can make new friends within seconds. For example, Facebook is
the website where people send requests to each other and become friends in no time.

What are the important qualities of a good friend?

A good friend should, first of all, be trustworthy and honest. If you cannot trust someone, he cannot be your true friend. Apart from these qualities, a friend
should be understanding and helpful so that he can help you at the time you face any difficulty or troublesome situation in your life. Let’s say, if you need
money, a good friend would help you with the money you can borrow at the time of financial constraints.

23. Describe a time you helped a child ( chém theo bài Somebody said something positive about some work that you did – lưu ý sửa mở bài kết luận
thôi)
1. How do people usually help each other?

In my mind, the help a person can do takes a variety of forms, like giving advice to others, easing someone’s financial burden or helping neighbour water the
plants. Such actions are simple yet they can prove extremely helpful to the needy person.

to take a variety of forms: có nhiều hình thức

financial burden (n) gánh nặng tài chính

the needy person: người đang cần được giúp

2. How is online help different from real-life help?

From my point of view, there are a number of things that help on the Internet that differ from those in reality. For example, the advice you receive online can be
given from strangers so it’s less reliable than from a friend or a family member, who tend to better understand your situation or what you’ve been through.

to differ from: khác với

realiable (adj) đáng tin cậy

3. Should schools be responsible for teaching students how to cooperate?

Without a doubt, schools play an important role in inculcating teamwork in a student’s repertoire. Schools provide a wonderful platform for students to be
trained to cooperate. In this academic environment, students are forced to interact with dozens of other peers on a daily basis and such a process can
greatly facilitate the development of teamwork skills. More importantly, since teachers could closely monitor the whole process of students cooperating with
each other, practical and timely feedback could be given to maximize students’ outcomes. It’s my conviction that there are no other places that could do this
better than schools do.

inculcate: làm cho ghi nhớ, khắc sâu

on a daily basis: hằng ngày

to facilitate: làm cho việc gì/quá trình gì trở nên dễ dàng, dễ thành công hơn

4. What are the differences between help from friends and help from family?

In my opinion, at its core, there are no differences between support from a friend and that from a close family member. You know friends and family are the
most sacred individuals to our life, they understand us the most and are willing to help us unconditionally so we can lead a fulfilling life. However, if I have to
pinpoint any dissimilarities, I would say friends often give advice on school stuff or relationships as it would be easier to get things off your chest with someone
of roughly the same age and having the same mindset. In contrast, we often heed advice from parents when it comes to grand issues like which university to
enrol in or which career to embark on.

dissimilarity: sự khác biệt

to get things of someone’s chest: trút bầu tâm sự

grand issue (n) những chuyện lớn, đại sự

 to embark on: bắt đầu tam gia, dấn thân làm gì đó

24. Describe an important decision you made that had a positive result

I have made many difficult decisions in my life, but today I would like to talk about the decision of choosing which what stream to pursue after high school.

It was about 2 years ago when I was about to graduate from high school. At that time, I was on the fence not knowing which university to apply for and what
should I major in. It was truly a nerve-racking time.

My parents thought that the field of technology was appropriate for me, therefore they insisted me in following their career choice while my older brother, who
is more progressive, encouraged me to pursue what my heart wanted. Art has always my cup of tea since I was a small kid.

Having weighted up the pros and cons of each school, I finally applied for a private university that offers degree in designing. I’ve yet to finish my graduation
but throughout the last 3 years I have enjoyed working on a lot of creative projects and I feel so satisfied with the learning environment. I am so thankful for my
decision as well as my brother’s sound advice.

Without his guidance, I probably wouldn’t be as content with my university life as I am

What kinds of decisions do people make everyday? (gợi ý ideas + cấu trúc cho câu hỏi dạng KIND OF: Well, people usually make thousands of decisions on
a daily basis, both consciously and unconsciously. At home, they have to decide what to eat or wear. At work …. which task should be prioritised, how to
handle a discerning customer… When they go shopping, … select what to buy and whether they should bargain or not …)

Can children make decisions on their own? (Cấu trúc IT DEPENDS – tùy trường hợp, chia nhỏ ý):

Well, it depends. Generally speaking, making decisions and taking full responsibility for them is a crucial skill children need to learn bit by bit. Babies or young
kids can decide for themselves on trivial matters such as which outfit to wear. However, the majority of decisions concerning their future must be made by their
guardians who are more knowledgeable about the world. As for older children, I believe, probably from 16 they are capable of making their own choices in not
only day-to-day chores but also major issues such as study, career and relationships. Of course, parents still have a guiding role to play.

What kinds of decisions are difficult to make?

I’d say that the toughest decisions are those related to university or career choice. Such decisions are critical as they define people’s lives. Choosing a future
pathway to take involves prediction and massive risks. On top of that, people have to make these crucial decisions when they are still very young. Due to a
severe lack of information or unawareness of their own interests and talents, they might end up choosing the wrong path …)

What should people do when they have to make such decisions? (gợi ý idea: First, they might ask an expert or experienced people for advice…
Additionally, they should try to obtain relevant information from trusted sources they can seek. Finally, it’s crucial for them to constantly broaden their horizon/
expand their perspective / earn as much practical experience as possible so that they could have a higher chance of making a fruitful decision. For example,
highschoolers might consider taking a gap year to discover the world and themselves. This would enable them to find their place in life that fit their talents and
personality…

How is making decisions today different from the past? (gợi ý idea: people these days are better informed as the Internet provides an instant access to a
wealth of information. By contrast, in the past, people could only gather information from books or by asking people around them, which used to be time-
consuming and ineffective. Another point I should add is that today people tend to be affected by external influences from friends, social media and their idols
…)

How do businesses and organisations make decisions? (gợi ý idea: In a top-down business,  highest-ranking leaders are solely responsible for decision
making … In other companies with a more democratic corporate culture, the common practice is to reach a final decision through meetings & discussions)

1 Describe a place in the countryside that you visited / 2. Describe a time you visited a new place

INTRODUCTION : I would like to talk about a little trip that I took with my girl friend to Thuy Nguyen – a beautiful countryside area in the Northern part of
my city

WHEN: If my memory serves correctly, it was about three months ago. at the time we were both worn out ( exhausted) . So, we needed a little break from
reality, and we decided to go to Thuy Nguyen which is known for its natural beauty

CHI TIẾT: We were truly impressed by the breath-taking landscapes, ranging from beaches to forests and from waterfalls to green paddy fields.

There are meaningful activities I did there

-I walked around and sampled the local cuisine especially the beautiful seafood ( Ăn)

- I spent the evenings gazing up at the stars and admiring the tranquil night views ( NGẮM TRỜI)

- I ALSO SPENT some time exploring the local community in order to discover more and fully embrace their culture ( TRẢI NGHIỆM VĂN HÓA)

KẾT BÀI Anyway, we had a blast time there. I would surely go back to that place in future because this is where I could find my peace and serenity. it would
remind me again how we could live a very simple life and yet become very happy.

TOPIC1: The Countryside

Besides, more factories and industrial zones have been relocated to the countryside, which has brought a lot
of job opportunities for local people

4.Why do people go to quiet places?

I think they go to quiet places to relax. If you spend too much time in noisy and overwhelming places, you can get stressed out really easily. So I think that it's
nice to escape somewhere quiet and peaceful, even if it's just a park m the city. In quiet places, you can and just relax. That helps you from getting too
overwhelmed with your work or studies.

TOPIC 2 : New places

1. What are some popular attractions that people like to visit in your country?

Vietnam is a huge country and it has a long cultural history. As such, there are a lot of tourist attractions that people like to visit. These include shrines, forts,
parks, restaurants, and museums. Every place has its own popular attractions. In Viet Nam, the popular ones are Hang Son Doong Cave, Ha Long Bay , and so
on.

2. Do old people and young people like to go to different places for vacation?

Both yes and no. There are places that both young and old people like to go to, but then there are also places which are preferred by the young or the old. For
example, old people prefer going to religious places. Young people love to go to beaches and places with adventure sports, but old people are less keen on
going to such places because it requires a lot of energy , which their bodies might not be able to handle.
3. What do old people and young people think about when making travel plans?

I think old people care more about comfort. Their main purpose is to relax, while young people think about recreational activities like adventure sports. That is
why there is a significantly higher proportion of old people on cruises.

4. How do people get to know about new places?

I think the internet has a lot of information about places. There is information about each and every place on the internet. Then, people can also come to know
about new places from their friends and family. For example, during my last trip to HCM city, I was recommened to vist a very cool bar in the downtown by a
friend of mine which I did not know before having a conversation with him

3 Describe a long walk you ever had

I would like to talk about a long walk I had with my family when visiting Thuy Nguyen – a beautiful countryside area in the Northern part of my city.

After a bit of a
discussion, we decided to book a walking tour in the palm forest led by an experienced local tour guide.

The entire walking distance was about 3000 meters including walking trails, croplands, some taking points. During the walking passage, we experienced some
stunning natural scenes

I was accompanied by my family at the walk, but other members could not enjoy the walk as I did because I am physically fitter than them . Consequently,
they could not keep pace with me sometimes but I constantly encouraged and motivated them to make sure they did not lag behind.

Anyway, the walk was super enjoyable because walking into a jungle is a really good way to unwind and alleviate stress.

TOPIC 3 : Outdoor activities

1. What outdoor activities do people like?

-I think mostly people like to go for a run or walk in the park because these activities can be done easily and do not require any monetary investment. But lately,
many people have also started cycling especially in my city specially after the covid lock downs. I think people are becoming more conscious about their
fitness.

2. What are the differences between the outdoor activities children did in the past and now?

-Children used to play simple games like hide and seek, tag and running in the park but nowadays children are more inclined towards professional sports they
love to play soccer, cricket or some children go for skating practice.

3. Is leisure important to everyone? why?

-Well it is important for everyone to spend some time on entertainment and one should definitely take a break during the day because in today’s hectic style the
brain definitely deserves some rest. People should spend time rejuvenating so that they can concentrate or focus better on their tasks later on.

4. Do women have more leisure than men?

-I don’t think Leisure has got anything to do with the gender of a person. It purely depends upon an individual’s personality, some people like to work hard
whereas others like to spend more time in entertaining themselves. In fact, at my home my mother and father, who are both working, spend an equal amount of
time on leisure activities.

4. Describe an apartment or a house that you would like to live in near future

I am currently residing in a luxury high-rise apartment complex located in Hai Phong, however, in the future, i dream of moving to the breathtakingly beautiful
mountainous area of Da Lat

My special house would have a variety of features

Firstly I would love to have an infinity swimming pool so that i can regularly do exercise and perhaps even one day get a six-pack secondly, it would have to
have a well- kept garden because i am very passionate about flora and fauna, wildlife and flowers

Secondly, i would love nothing more than to immerse myself in the local environment while enjoying the fresh air that Da Lat has to offer Lastly of course, i
would love to have a spacious master bedroom as well as an open plan modern kitchen and dining room

the reason why i would love to own this special house is because in the future i dream of moving my family there
I think they would really appreciate the colder weather and the tranquility that Da Lat has to offer and of course they can immerse themselves in the local
culture and setting there

Besides,We all share the same passion for natural environment and love nothing more than to be at one with nature so I think this house would really allow
me and my family to do that in a safe and comfortable environment

Part 3:

1. What kinds of apartments or homes are most popular?

-In my country, people like to live in individual houses because most of them still live in villages where ample space is available to build a house according to
one’s convenience. However, since migration from villages to cities has seen tremendous growth recently, apartments are also becoming quite popular with the
Urban population. So, I can say currently both individual houses, as well as apartments, are preferred in their respective geographies.

2. Do you think that everyone would like to live in a larger home? Why is that?

-Theoretically, one may expect that everybody would love to live in a larger home. However, recently I have realised that people, especially in cities like to live
in smaller houses. Such tiny houses offer them enough space to live and not worry about maintaining the area too much. So, I don’t think that everyone would
like to live in a larger house.

3. What are the differences between apartments and houses?

-I think houses are more spacious than apartments. Usually, the owner of houses can decide for themselves how big house they need to build while in case of
flats you need to choose is a suitable place from the given choices. Additionally, individual houses can be decorated according to the owners’ taste, whereas
flats do have many restrictions as one needs permission from the society or from the governing body to make any changes to the apartment.

5. Describe a situation when something in your house was broken or stopped working

I’m going to talk about one time when my washing machine stopped working. It was a few months ago. So, the machine had been working very well for almost
10 years; that was the first time that there was any problem with it.
Normally I just put my clothes in, pour some washing liquid and fabric softener, turn the machine on and leave it there for two hours. But this time when I
came back to take the clothes out, I realized that they were still dry, unwashed.

I immediately called the company, and they sent a mechanic over in an hour. After examining the machine, he concluded that there wasn’t really any big
problem; it was just that the filter bag was full of small rubbish like toothpicks and fabric accumulated over the years.

He patiently showed me how to take the bag out, wash it, then put it back in. The washing machine worked again perfectly. I gave him a five-star rating for this.

Part3: HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES

1. How do you think modern technology has changed the way we work (compared to the past)?
That’s an interesting question. Because modern technology has completely transformed the way we work. For instance, sending email at the click of a button is
far more convenient than physically go and send it through mail. Moreover, work sectors like banking and accounting have become super-efficient, All thanks
to the modern computers!!

2. Do you think that operating equipment at work can ever have some bad effect on the body?
Yes! It may have an adverse effect on health. An example would be, if an unskilled person tries to operate heavy equipment it may cause an injury or accident.
Furthermore, operating equipment without safety gear definitely put everyone’s life in danger.

3. Do you think all new homes will be equipped with household machines in the future? Why?
As we are marching to modernity, we will see numerous changes in the upcoming days. Now we have automated machines to perform the majority of our
household chores but the day is appearing when all the activities will be done by machines. Moreover, There might be robots to perform the household
activities. All the new homes will be equipped with the machines and equipment by this way to make living easier.

4. Do you agree that older people have difficulties in using (advanced) modern equipment? How can we help elderly people to use these modern
devices?
I guess, older people usually encounter problems while handling contemporary equipment because they are not really good at adapting to cutting-edge tech as
compared to young people. By participating in the training programmes they can enhance their knowledge and handle the equipment with ease.
5. Are there any disadvantages of using modern equipment too much in the home?
Yes, there are. Young people are so engrossed in these that they forget that they should interact with other family members. Plus, People become so dependent
on machines like dishwashers, washing machines and microwaves that all work comes to a standstill if these things do not work.

6. Describe a time when you were preparing for a happy event

I would like to talk about a time when I prepared for my brother’s surprise birthday party.

I vividly remember that day because I had to prepare things in advance, as well as keep things secret from my brother. My parents were with me in this
birthday preparation. We did not wish him happy birthday in the morning on purpose because we wanted him to think that we all had forgotten his birthday.

After my brother left for school in the morning I started decorating our garden and installing the setup including the tables, chairs, and ballons . My mother
started baking her favourite chocolate cake while I called all his friends and our relatives to the party in the evening. I then proceeded to order snacks and
appetizers along with the beverages for the evening. The celebrations finally commenced and all the guests had arrived before she came. We welcomed him
with the birthday song and hugs from everyone

We all had an amazing time at the party. My brother got gifts from everyone and was extremely happy when I gifted him a necklace. He thanked me
continuously for organizing such an amazing party.

TOPIC : Happy Event

1,What makes people happy?

-Happiness is a state of mind. Different people have different concepts about happiness. For a nursery student, being able to write ‘A’ properly can give
happiness. A poor person may get happiness if he wins a lottery. A person suffering from cancer can get happiness if a cure is found for his illness. Parents feel
happy if their children do well in school.

2,Do you believe that people used to define happiness in a different way in the past, or that the concept of happiness hasn’t change with the passage of time?
-I believe that concept of happiness has not changed with time. But, the way people show their happiness has changed because of advancement of technology
these days. For example, when India won the cricket World Cup this time it was celebrated all over the world at the same time. There were firework displays
everywhere.
3, Do you believe that old people can be happier than young people?

-I believe that old people can be happier than young people because young people today have a lot of burden on their shoulders. They have the burden of
choosing a career. They have the burden of adopting the culture. They are forced by their parents to adopt the traditional culture but they want to adopt the
global culture. They are exposed to a consumerist society in which there are a lot of things which they want to own. But they don’t have the money for them.

4,What do you have to do to achieve a long-term happiness?

-We should have a steady career. We should have a good family life and good health. We should know how to strike a balance between work and leisure and
not to be a workaholic.

7. Describe an item of clothing that someone gave you

I would like talk about a tuxedo suit which I got for my mom for my piano competition

At the time, I was really excited because I was about to be the center of attention. Performing in front of the audience of over 1,000 people was definitely a big
deal to me. I was also nervous because I wanted to win so bad that I couldn't afford to make any mistake and I wanted my parents to be proud of me

My mom brought me a smart suit for this special occasion. It was the most beautiful suit I had ever seen in my life. It was a winner season collection from
Gucci, I guess it must have cost her an arm and a leg. The color was a basic black which was totally my color. It was perfectly tailored and fashionably
designed . Good news was I won the piano competition, and my mom paid me acompliment by saying that I was a most shining star on that day.

I still keep the suit in fantastic condition. Since that day, I have never worn it anymore. Apparently it has little practical value to me but I still love it because
of its unique sentimental value and beautiful memories

8 Describe a gift you would like to buy for your friend

Well, to be honest, I’m not the kind of person who has a great taste in choosing gifts for others, but when I do, I will put all my effort into it. And today, I
would like to talk about a tuxedo suit that I plan to buy for Minh – my best friend who have been with me through a lot of thick and thin. We have a lot in
common and therefore we really enjoy each other’s company.

Minh will be participating in a local piano competition next month so I guess buying him a real nice fancy suit would be a great gift. I found a winner season
collection from Gucci on their official website a while ago. The color was a basic black which was totally his color. It was perfectly tailored and fashionably
designed and of course made of really decent fabric. I wish he could give all the piano judges and audiences a good impression by dressing to the nines using
this smart suit .

I will have to wait for a couples of days when the suit will be on sale to make a purchase. Otherwise, it must have cost me an arm and a leg which is
obviously not feasible for a person who lives under a tight buget like me

Part3:
1. When do people normally send gifts to others?

- There are a number of events that require a gift exchange in my country. Off the top of my head, I can think of birthdays, anniversaries, weddings,
housewarmings and holidays like Christmas or Easter. It is kind of expected for major holidays for there to be some sort of exchange, which usually does not
require the gift to be lavish. I also tend to travel a lot, so I always try to bring back souvenirs for family and friends so I can share in some small way my
experience.
2. Do people today still give the same kinds of gifts that people used to give, many years ago?

-I’ve never really thought about it, but I think the style of gifts does not change much, we are creatures of habit after all and our gifts still fall into neat
categories. What has changed is the variety of things that we can buy and how we purchase them. Globalization has given us products from more places around
the world to enjoy and online shopping has made it a lot easier for us to acquire them without the hassle of going to shops.
3. What sorts of things do they give?

-Some gifts can be small and significant while others can be extravagant and flashy, it all depends on what the occasion is. For birthdays, for example, people
tend to try and give the person something that is meaningful to them or reminds them of a shared experience together. A lovely bouquet of flowers or
chocolates are very common gifts for Valentine’s day or anniversaries, but the gifts can also be more expensive such as jewelry or weekend getaways.
4. Will people feel happy when receiving an expensive gift?

-Well gifts tend to brighten one’s day or commemorate a date, so there’s a lot to like. At the core, it’s a token of our gratitude or appreciation and that makes
people feel loved. Gifts tend to bring me happiness it makes me feel like someone cared enough to spend money on something or even better took time to make
me something, that makes me feel important to them.

9 Describe about a selfie which you catch in your mobile phone on your favourite occasion

Speaking of this topic, what entered my mind first was the picture displayed in my room. It is my selfie university graduation picture.
This picture does not only show me but also my parents overjoyed that day. In the picture, I am wearing black and white academic gown and graduation cap.
My father is in his black suit while my mother is wearing an elegant purple dress. All of us have big smiles in the picture.

On my graduation ceremony, we all had an option of hiring a professional photographer to take pictures but I don’t really like this way because it usually costs
an arm and a leg to do so and the fact that I have a smartphone with really a good camera so why not,

As for now, It is hanging on my wall right besides my cabinet. It was placed in a grass picture frame so it wont be damaged or exposed to dust. The wall where
I placed it is right infront of my bed so whenever I wake up in the morning, the picture is the first thing I see

My sellfie graduation picture is in deed my favourite picture because I symbolizes the hardwork and faith I had during my college life. Whenever I see it, I
remember the struggles and successes of my studies. Besides from that, the picture also stands for the endless love and support my parents have given me.
Without them, I would not have survived, passed or even graduated from my college

Young people take photos quite often when travelling especially when there is a breathtaking landscape because they want to capture the moment and upload
these pictures on social media to show off their fun and happiness

10 . Describe a special cake you received from others

Honestly speaking, I have a sweet tooth and I’ve always had a soft spot for cakes and desserts, and today I would like to tell you the most yummy cake that I
got from my sister.
During my last birthday, because of the third way of Corona virus pandemic, my city was in a state of lockdown, meaning no bakery shops were available .
Therefore , my sister decided to bake a cake for my birthday party. Despite being a newbie at baking , she did tremendous hard work, and after watching many
baking tutorial videos on Youtube, she finally gave the cake a try.

As it was her first attempt, I was quite suspicious of the taste; however, to my surprise, it was far beyond my expectation. Everything about the cake was
amazing, from the yellow sponge cake to the chocolate buttercream, and that’s not to mention the scrumptious icing or frosting made from fresh fruits like
berries. Besides, it wasn’t too sweet and the soft moist texture of the cake was, and it just melted in my mouth when I had the first bite of

Again, that is the best cake I have ever tasted in my life and I truly appreciate the fact the my sister make it out of love and affection for me

Part3:
1. What are the differences between the special food in Vietnam and foreign countries?

-I think food is a big part of Vietnamese culture and we love to prepare big feasts on special occasions.I think the difference between special food in Vietnam
and other countries is that its mostly vegetarian. Secondly, there is high use of spices in Vietnam food, even some desserts have spices.

2. Do you think it’s good to communicate when eating with your family?

4. Tell me about the types of food that people eat in your country (What foods are popular in your country?
-In my country, the Vietnamese, rice is a staple food. We eat rice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rice comes with different kinds of viand (piece of food, or a
tasty dish) such as pork, beef or chicken cooked with vegetables or fruits and other ingredients. Since my country is located in the tropics, tropical fruits are also
popular here especially mangoes. They say that the best mangoes can be found in the Vietnamese. We also like to eat bread for breakfast or for snacks.

11 Describe a thing you cannot live without except cell phone or computer

If i have to choose to talk about something, I couldn’t live without, it will be my WASHING machine. It’s an Electrolux from Germany, a country well-known
for making top-notch electronic equipment.
If my memory serves, my father bought this washer two years ago when the previous one broke down. It has a large capacity and is very powerful. And what I
particularly like about this washer is the wide range of clothing it can wash and that it makes almost no noise when it’s working. The reason I think that
washing machine is an indispensable part of my life because

I think doing the laundry with a washer would be much less labor-intensive and time-saving. What you need to do is just put the clothes in the washer, and
wait for about 45 minutes. Meanwhile, you can multitask such as sweeping the floor or cooking. Then, take out the clean clothes and hang them up in the air.
We use the washer every day, sometimes twice or three times a day when there’s a bunch of dirty clothes

At the end of the day, the washer is indeed a very important tool for me. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to have enough time to rest and prepare for work or
school. I can’t imagine our life without this washer any more.

Part3:
1. Why do you think teenagers always want to have the latest devices such as the iPhone?

-I think it's quite natural. We live in a world that functions and centers around technology nowadays and having the latest device allows you to make the most
of the advances and developments in the market. It's the same as older people like to have the latest model of car or a new apartment. People like to have the
best or the latest version of things. It's not just teenagers.

2. Why do they often buy a new one even though they already have one?

-One reason could be that each new version normally has more functions or features than the older one and allows the user to do more or access more things.
Some people also believe that the newest version of something is always better.

3. What do they do with the old one after buying a new one?

-Many of my friends give their old devices to their younger brothers or sisters or to another family member.I have one friend who is a real technology freak and
he always finds a way to use the old device for something else, another project or purpose.

4. How hard is it for parents to convince their children not to buy an expensive phone?

-I think it's very hard. Many parents grew up without the internet and such digital devices being a normal part of life. They are still relatively new, so parents
might not really appreciate just how important and interesting they are for young people.

12 . Describe a useful skill you learned from an older person

Speaking of this topic today, I would like to talk about one time when my uncle taught me how to assemble a computer.

If my memory serve me correctly, It was about a year ago, when I was playing a computer game, the monitor went black. So I had to call my uncle for help.
He's a really techy guy and knows a lot about digital devices. He found most parts of my computer were pretty old

So he bought lots of parts from a local computer market that day and decided to teach me the skill of computer assembly. My uncle started from introducing me
to the parts patiently, like the CPU and mother board. Then he taught me step by step how to install the new parts one at a time. It was a little more complicated
than I thought. But after I got it done, I pressed the power button again and it lit up. The computer ran perfectly and way faster than before.

I'm really grateful to my uncle to teach me that skill. After all, computer assembly is a rare skill that most people don't have.

Part 3:

1. What can children learn from their parents?

-Children learn by observing their parents, they are their role models especially during their early years. Parents can teach children important life lessons just by
modeling good behaviour. Respecting others, working hard, positive attitude, eating healthy, saving money, helping the needy are some life lessons children
can learn from their parents.

2. What knowledge can children learn from their grandparents?

-Grandparents have years of wisdom that they love to share with their grandkids. Children can learn about history and grow up in times totally different from
now. It is much more interesting to learn about history from personal grandparent stories than books. Children can also learn practical skills like sewing,
knitting, gardening, baking which parents nowadays either don’t know or are too busy to teach.

3. What kind of help do you think older people need?

-There are many, We could them help with chores like laundry, grocery shopping, house cleaning, etc. I believe having a caring family around so they don’t
feel lonely is also helpful. Besides, helping with learning new technologies like smartphones Help with transportation if they can’t drive themselves.

4. What skills can young people learn from older people?

-Older people have years of experience and have seen both success and failures. Young people can learn important life lessons from them. For instance, they
can learn to appreciate the good times and have the courage to face the bad times. They can learn that family matters the most and making time for loved ones
is very important. Elders can teach them the importance of saving money for emergencies and for their retirement.
13 Describe an interesting discussion that you had with friends

I’m going to describe an interesting discussion I had with my classmates at university last year . The subject was about how to protect ourselves during the
COVID-19 pandemic. Many opinions were expressed, including:

1. Pay attention to personal hygiene. At the time, There were a lot of things we did not know about this virus, but we do know it spreads through respiratory
droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Other individuals may be infected when they touch a surface that has virus particles on it and
then touch their own mouth or nose. Therefore, it is important to wash your hands frequently with soap and water.

+ Don’t touch your face. This is a lot harder than it sounds and requires conscious effort. This is where I found the most interesting in the discussion because I
did not know that the average person touches their face 23 times an hour, and about half of the time, they’re touching their mouth, eyes, or nose

2. Practice “social distancing by conducting your meetings virtually or postponing meetings entirely.

3. Wear a mask. This is because we now know that people infected with the virus are most contagious during the 72 hours before they develop symptoms. By
blocking a significant amount of respiratory secretions, your mask protects others, and their masks protect you.

Overall, it was one of the most meaningful discussions that I have ever had, and knowledge gained from this discussion has helped me stay safe so far

Part3:

1. How do friends communicate with each other?

There are many ways through which friends interact with each other. The most popular way to interact is by having tea

or meals together. The other way is to have fun trips together like adventure trips. Moreover, many people use social media excessively to communicate. There
are various applications and websites at their disposal to interact with others.

2. What’s the difference between having a conversation with a man and having a conversation with a woman?

The nature of both men and women is different. Due to this reason, some people say that “Men are from venus and women are from Mars”. Men usually talk
about sports, technology and politics. On the other hand, women prefer to discuss fashion and household chores.

3. Do you think women like to chat more than men?

Women, in general, are more extrovert as compared to men. Due to this reason, they like to chat more than men. However, if men find an interesting topic like a
sport match to talk about, they can gather and talk all day.

4. What is the difference between chatting and gossiping?

In chatting, the central focus of the communicators is on themselves and various issues and ideas. On the other hand, gossiping thrives primarily on discussing
others. In short, gossiping is when two or more people discuss a story of another person, more often than not bad stories

5. Who do you prefer chatting with – your parents or your friends?

It depends on the situation. I like to chat with my parents about my goals, my plans and pressing problems of society like unemployment, female foeticide and
climate change. On the other hand with my friends, I chat regarding sports, future career options and fashion.

6. How do most people make new friends in your country?

In my country, people usually make friends in the educational institution they study. Apart from this, persons staying in the neighbourhood develop a
friendship. Nowadays, technology is playing a significant role in developing friendships. Many people use social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram
and Meetup to make new friends.

2. Do children have strong opinions?

3. Should parents request their kids to obey them?
4. In what industries do you think communication is a necessary skill?

14 Describe a lesson that you remember well

Speaking of a memorable lesson, I would like to tell you about one special lesson given by teacher Mike when I was in college. At the time, my English was
really bad and English lessons were prohibitively expensive so I could not afford to study in a proper English center. As a result, I decided to join a language
exchange club ( sort of more like a culture exchange programme) where local students could have conversations in English with professional teachers and
volunteers from all over the world for free.

There was a particular teacher who was quite eccentric. I remember his lessons really stood out because unlike a lot traditional English courses which boringly
focus mainly on grammar and vocabulary, he organized a lot of presentations, speeches and discussions covering a variety of topics ranging from culture
though western politeness to travel and politics. In this one lesson, he showed us travel photos from his many travels where he sampled different local
cuisines, helped underprivileged people, and explored many destinations off the beaten track.

Personally, I found being exposed to all of that was a truly mind-blowing experience. He has inspired me in my linguistic journey, helping me realize the
importance of the English language. If I had not had that experience, I would would never have thought of travelling around the world.

Part 3:

1.Which can help you remember things better, words or photos?

- Using immages  is an effective way to improve memory and decrease certain types of false memories, according to researchers. People who were instructed to
create images of the list words in their head were able to recall more words than people who didn't create images, and they didn't recall false memories as often
2. Why do some people have a better memory?

-I would say some people have better memories than others by virtue of nurture: There are techniques people can use to train their memories to be better. For
example, if you want to learn to remember long lists of digits or sequences of cards. However, other people remember things differently because of the event's
emotional impact.

3. Why can some people remember some little things in life?

15. Describe a toy that you often played with as a child

I am going to talk about my old remote control car which was a toy that I really loved when I was a little boy. I played with this toy day in and day out.

I remember in my childhood, I did not have as many toys like other kids in my neighborhood, mainly because my family was pretty poor, and we always had to
live under a tight budget so my parents could not afford to buy me as many toys as I wanted. However, when I turned 10, she bought me a surprise gift my
birthday and it was a toy car.

No words can describe how happy I was at that time. I felt like I was over the moon receiving such a gift. I was so into that even I took it to my bed and held it
in my hands when I was sleeping that night. The next days, no one could tear me away from that toy car . During that time, I was so obsessed with the romote
car that my parents had to pull me away from playing everymorning and force me to go to school.

Anyway, I had a ton of fun playing it. I have always treasured this toy and still keep it in my closet to make sure it is in mint condition. Whenever I look at it,
memories come flooding back to me, it truly has sentimental value for me.
Part 3

1, Why do children like to have toys in their lives?

I think toys are the instruments that allow them to discover the world they live in, which is precisely why they interact with their surroundings through toys.
Plus, toys provide plenty of enjoyment and happiness, both of which help build their skills. For example, toys promote children ś cognitive development by
stimulating their concentration and memory skills and giving them the ability to solve problems creatively, which is key to their future autonomy.

2. Do children like to play with toys or computer games nowadays?

I think children nowadays prefer electronic games to toys. Electronic games with audio effects engage children for long hours, and most children are not
allowed outside to play without supervision, which is the main reason they choose computers or other electronic games to fulfill their gaming spirit. Also,
computer games give scores and levels to motivate children to play more and elevate to higher levels in the game.

3. What can parents do if they can’t afford a toy for their kids?
I think it is better to stand firm and don’t give in to a child’s pestering. This is because latest toys can overstretch the family budget and many parents might feel
under pressure to meet their children’s demands. Therefore, cost is a consideration for most parents, and so is keeping limitations on how much they treat their
children.

4. Do girls and boys like the same toys?

No, they don’t. In fact, boys tend to like “wheeled toys”, such as a wagon, or trucks or cars, and play with them in a masculine fashion, while girls have a
preference for “plush toys” like Barbie dolls and play with them in a feminine way.

5. What do you think the advantages and disadvantages of having too many toys at home?
There are many advantages for children who have a lot of toys, but there are also some disadvantages. As for the advantages, children can develop visual sense
and basic math skills. However, on the other hand, having too many toys can stop the development of their creativity, and they may not bother to play outside
or engage in much physical activity.

16 . Describe a song that you think is interesting

So i'm a huge music fan personally speaking and i listen to numerous genres but the one that i like the most would definitely be Pop Music

And today I will tell you about my all-time favorite song which is performed by a promient singer in Vietnam named Son Tung mtp and this is no other than the
most successful song Tuong Quan
the first time I listened to the song was actually quite embarrassing because this wasn't the original version. It was actually the Youtube cover by another
talented singer called Huong Ly, and instantly i fell in love with the ups and downs and the melody and how creative the sounds were. Not until the interview
which tells how Son Tung came up with the song was released, did i actually pay attention to the lyrics and details. I was taken aback by how the songwriter
also the main singer Son Tung mtp puts so much sentiment into the song. Personally speaking, Son Tung hits a lot of notes that hook me into a song and i
remember listening to it weeks on end

Even now i still haven't got over how creative and how much of a banger this song is

Part 3:

1. What kind of music do people like at different ages?

-I think that when people are young, they like loud and exciting music like pop and rock. They tend to listen to whatever's trending. They also like music they
can dance to, so it needs a good beat and a catchy hook. As people get older, they might gravitate toward more classic types of rock or even quieter genres like
folk or country. But I definitely know people who have varied music tastes that don't change as they get older.

2. What kind of music is popular in Viet Nam now and what kind will be in the future?

-Right now, pop music is definitely at the top of the charts in Viet Nam. It's what most people listen to on a daily basis. That makes sense because it's literally
designed to be catchy and get stuck in people 's heads. I'm not really sure what will be popular in the future, but I think that EDM might have a resurgence It's
similar to pop, but it's more experimental It sounds like a good genre for the future.

3.Do Vietnamese parents require their children to learn to play musical instruments?

-No I don't think so. Even though a lot of parents sign their children up for music classes so they can learn to play musical instruments, they are just account for
a; small proportion of all parents in Viet Nam. I mean, learning a musical instrument and not every family can afford the expenses. Plus, a lot of Vietnamese
parents have a mindset that good grades at school always come first, so learning music is more like developing a hobby for their children rather than an
essential part of education.

4.Why do some people like to listen to live music while others prefer CDs?

-Well, some people love how exciting a live performance is. There's a type of energy that you don't experience when you're listening to a recording, It's also
amazing to see the musicians right before your eyes. But some people like CDs because it's a more intimate listening experience. You don't have to be around
other people. You can just listen and have the volume as high or as low as the volume as high or as low as you want.
17 Describe a historical event

I am gonna tell you a historical event that happened in 1986 in Vietnam that changed the life of the whole population. And that was the economic reform. The
economic reform was significant because prior to that event, all the Vietnamese citizens of that time suffered from an extreme level of poverty and
hyperinflation .

I believe that that was due to the economic austerity in the post-war period and also because of the absence of international trade at that time.

In the event, some of the elite leaders in Vietnam including general Nguyen Van Linh realized that a closed market economy just didn't work and more open
market should be adopted along with many open policies so that's why they decided to perform an economic reform at that time.

In the event, the trade barriers between Vietnam and other countries in the world were removed, and the closed - market economy was replaced by a free
market one where private businesses were promoted, and the fruitful results of this event could be seen in just few years when the poverty rate was reduced and
the inflation rate was stabilized. And for the first time in many years, a GDP growth was recorded

I believe the event was so meaningful to all because now everyone can enjoy a better living standards and to me personally, and this event is so intriguing
because I'm enthusiastic about economics and I also want to learn about the history of my country deeply and thoroughly

Part3: Historical Event

1. How do people in your country feel about protecting historic buildings?

-People in my country believe that historic buildings are their national pride so they always try to protect and preserve those structures. There are also many
traditional temples and pagodas which are protected by law because those buildings are difficult to repair and reconstruct, once they are damaged. In the past,
there was a time when a group of Vietnamese and foreign experts had to gather signatures of the citizens to stop the government from demolishing a colonial
building for the expansion of the city’s administration centre.

2. Do you think an area can benefit from having an interesting historic place locally? In what way?

-Having an interesting historic place is definitely a benefit for an area because it will attract a huge number of domestic and international tourists, which can
enhance tourism development and generate more career opportunities for the local people. Besides, This will indirectly promote the area’s culture to other
people which help preserve local identity.

3. What do you think will happen to historic places or buildings in the future? Why?

-This depends on the future generation, how they perceive and value history. if we show that historic places are worth preserving, then the authority would take
steps to protect those places. Otherwise, no one would pay attention whether a building is being torn down or not As the population is rapidly increasing, the
need to demolish old buildings to establish new ones for people to live in will grow. So it depends whether people will realize the importance of less well-
known historic places and structures.

4. How were you taught history when you were at school?

-I mostly learned from academic books, but I also read and watch movies about major historic events. Luckily, I’ve had some amazing teachers who could
make history an interesting subject. They explained important events and characters almost like telling stories instead of just giving dates and facts. We could
also watch some documentaries and short footages of the actual events. Not only did that help me remember the event more easily, but also made history
classes more engaging.

5. Are there other ways people can learn about history, apart from at school? Why?

-Yes, there are many ways people can learn about history. Studying from books helps but it’s not as engaging as actively searching for information. Nowadays,
thanks to technological development, people can easily look up information of a certain historical event on the Internet. Perhaps they can even find and watch a
movie based on that event, which would be more interesting. There is even a better way, which is travelling to the place where the event took place.

6. Do you think history will still a school subject in the future? Why?

-I believe it definitely will still be an essential part of the academic curriculum in the future because the future generation needs to understand that history is not
only past events but also a way to look at the future. There’s a saying that “to learn the future, study the past”. Stop studying history is almost like denying and
forgetting thousand years of cultural and traditional values of a nation.

18. Talk about a time when you gave advice to someone

The first one that comes to mind is the suggestion I gave to my friend Lisa. If memory serves correctly, it happened about half a year ago. At the time, Lisa was
upset about failing to lose weight, so I shared the method I used to drop some weight and suggested that she try it out

I told her that the key to losing weight is finding a companion who wants to go through the workout and diet everyday with her. I suggested that if she could
find anyone in her social circle with the same goal as her and form a team to encourage and support each other, then she might have half a chance to lose the
weight.

My words seemed to inspire her and she was totally on board with what I said. So she started a fitness team with three friends of hers. Lisa said they always
went to the gym together  and cheered each other up when they were tired or hungry. It really worked like a charm, Lisa  lost kilograms in a month, and every
member of the team lost weight more or less.
Lisa thanked me a lot for my advice and It gave me a sense of achievement to know that my suggestion was so helpful and really worked.

19. Describe a famous person that you are interested in

Well, there are a lot of famous and successful people in this world but the person who I think make a huge contribution to our society. He is both an
entrepreneur and a world-renowned philanthropist

Anyway, I came to learn about Bill Gates about 10 years ago when I started to learn to work on a computer. And one of my computer teachers told me that the
operating system called Windows that we are using, which is invented by Bill Gates. Over the past few decades, Bill Gates has constantly contributed to the
world through the fields of education, climate change and global health.

Firstly, Gates has heavily invested in US public education, making quality education wide-ly accessible for students of color and those from a low-income
background

Secondly, Roughly a year ago, he launched clean-energy investment fund with a main focus on promising technologies that could help humans adapt to the
climate change that is already affecting the planet

Last but not least, he also spends millions every year promoting global health initiatives around the world.

All in all, he indeed sets a perfect role model to live life to the fullest and for me he is the biggest charity contributor.

20. Describe a person you only met once and want to know more about

Speaking of this topic, I would like to tell you about Mike, an teacher Mike who I met once in college. At the time, my English was really bad and English
lessons were prohibitively expensive so I could not afford to study in a proper English center. As a result, I decided to join a language exchange club ( sort of
more like a culture exchange programme) where local students could have conversations in English with professional teachers and volunteers from all over the
world for free.

Unfortunately, he only showed up once and since I did not exchange contact with him, I have not got a chance to meet him again. All I know is that he is an
expat working here in Hai Phong, so hopefully we can bump into each in the future

21. Describe an ambition that you haven’t achieved

One of my ambitions that I have not yet achieved is to be able to communicate in Japanese.

I just got this idea a year ago because I realized that nowadays, knowing more foreign languages is an advantage not only in our daily lives but also in work
environments.

In order to achieve this, I registered for a Japanese class for beginners, twice a week. I also downloaded an application named Duolingo on my iPhone which
helps people study foreign languages, so that I can study on my own at home. For the first two months, I did not skip any classes, and spent at least 30 minutes
every night studying Japanese on Duolingo at home.

Unfortunately, I could not keep up with the schedule for long since I was working full time ( BẠN NÀO MÀ ĐANG LÀ SV- VÀ CẤP 3 THÌ NÓI since
studying is as demanding as having a full-time job) , not to mention that I had many other social activities that distracted me from studying. There were days
when I was so busy that I had to work overtime to finish my job. As a result, I wasn’t able to go to class and I definitely didn’t have any time to study at home. I
was also got carried away by friends and family.

Just like that, I gradually lost my ambition to study Japanese and until now, I can only remember one alphabet table, even though Japanese uses three types of
alphabets.

24. Describe a course that impressed you a lot

Here I would like to talk about a cooking course which has impressed me the most

If my memory serves correctly, I watched the show “Master Chef US” a couple years ago and I was amazed at and really admired the uniqueness of the
Western culinary world and the cooking skills. Therefore, Soon after, I decided to join a cookery course organized by a famous western restaurant in town.

The trainer got us familiar with some of the most common ingredients and taught us the basics. The course was well planned and structured that we learnt
cooking western snacks, desserts and some international food items.
The main reason I was truly impressed by this course is the fact that the trainer was so helpful, supportive and patient. He taught me how learn how to use the
oven, in which I knew how to make a perfect toast and how to use milk and butter in making many dishes. Besides, There were things that I had never thought
I would do in cooking like using red wine to cook.

All in all, I am so thankful for this particular course. Because of it, I have been equipped with one of the most practical skills. For now , I can cook delicious
and nutritious Western dishes for myself and my family

Vietnam is worldwide famous for its beautiful landscape and outstanding food, and Da Nang is definitely a place where you can be very well catered for both

Danang is one of the most attractive destinations for tourists thanks to its long stunning beaches. All the beaches have long stretches of white sand and the water
is crystal clear. The sea can be calm at times but the surf can also be spectacular.

Danang is also popular for its set of 6 awesome and quite eccentric bridges and that attracst many visitors to this city.

And if you have any chance to visit this lovely city, don’t forget to try its local food and let me put this simply Danang is a food lover dream.

With insanely delicious food options, you could live here for years and never stop discovering the variety of authentic dishes in Central Vietnam. It’s got
everything you could ever want for every mood and every palate.

26. Describe a rule that you don’t like

The fact it that in almost every school in my city, Saturday is always a half-day at school and students wait for this day eagerly as they get released for school
around 12 instead of 5 pm. But, It is not in the case of my school.

On top of it, there is an additional fine for not attending the school on Saturday as teachers often take surprise on this day. As a result, I could never go out on a
weekend break with my family. In addition, we had to wear school uniform all 6 days of the week, while other school children could wear clothes of their
choice on this day we again had to wear uniform only which always gave them a reason to laugh on us and annoy us. I was in uniform all the time and for that
reason my parents rarely got me new clothes.

Overall, like most other students I was not happy at all with this rule at my school.
