Procedure:

1. Before starting the hydraulic bench, make sure to put the inlet stilling baffle on top of the water
inlet, but do not lock too much. Make sure as well the control valve is closed.
2. Turn on the switch by rotating it clockwise and turn on the pump.
3. Once the pump is on, control the supply valve to start the flow of water.
4. When the water on the volumetric tank reaches a desirable level, close the gate valve.
5. Watch the level in the volume gage.
6. Set a volume for base reading (say 10 L), when the water level goes through 10 L mark, start the
stopwatch.
7. When the water level passes another given mark (say 20 L), stop the stopwatch.
8. Open the gate valve.
9. Compute for the discharge (Q) by dividing the change in volume by the time

Change∈Volume( ∆ V )
D ischarge ( Q )=
Time (T )
10. Close the control valve.
11. Turn the pump and the switch off.
