Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday turned a little emotional as he revealed why he didn't
wear a jacket or a warm cloth during the Congress Bharat Jodo Yatra which officially concluded in
Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar.
A Taliban suicide bomber blew himself up in a mosque packed with worshippers during
afternoon prayers on Monday in the high-security zone in Pakistan's restive north-
western Peshawar city, killing at least 61 people and wounding more than 150 others,
mostly policemen, officials said.
The powerful blast occurred inside the mosque in the Police Lines area around 1.40 pm
when worshippers, which included personnel of the police, army and bomb disposal
squad - were offering the Zuhr (afternoon) prayers.
The bomber who was present in the front row blew himself up, causing the roof to
collapse on the worshippers, officials said.
Manu Kumar Jain on January 30 announced his exit from the Xiaomi group, after
being it associated with it for over nine years. In a statement shared on social media,
Jain said he would be "taking some time off" before moving towards the "next
professional challenge".
"These last nine years were truly phenomenal and I will forever cherish the love and
support I have received from fans, partners, team members and friends. I am lucky to
have experienced something so special that it makes saying this goodbye very hard,"
Jain said.
After joining Xiaomi in 2014, Jain had served in multiple roles. He was the smartphone
brand's India region managing director for three years, from 2014 to 2017, and was
subsequently appointed as the company's president for Indian subcontinent region.
Within three years of his tenure with Xiaomi, the company "became the no. 1
smartphone brand in India", Jain's statement noted. "Soon 100 percent of our
smartphones and smart TVs were being made-in-India...Our expanding scale of
operations helped generate more than 50,000 jobs in India," the outgoing top Xiaomi
executive added.
The judge is expected to pronounce the sentence against Asaram on Tuesday morning.
Asaram was convicted for offences under Sections 376 (rape), 377 (unnatural sex), 354
(outraging modesty of a woman), 346 (wrongful confinement), 120B (criminal
conspiracy) and 201 (destroying evidence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
As per the First Information Report (FIR) lodged at Chandkheda police station in
Ahmedabad, the survivor was allegedly confined by Asaram in his Asharam at the
outskirts of Surat city and was raped repeatedly from 2001 to 2006.
