Good evening, I’m going about myself. My name is Carlos Andres Mata Calderon.

I’m

21 years old. I’m single and I was born on August 8th in 2001.

I live in Cartago in the district of San Rafael, and right now I'm speaking from my home. I live

with my mother and brother. My mother’s name is Tanny, and brother's name is Alejandro. We

also have 2 pets. They are dogs, the name of the white one is Dulce and the black one is Maggie.

I study at the Instituto Tecnologico de Costa Rica. My major is Computer Engineering, and this

is my 4th year in the TEC.

Why study English?

Well, the most important reason is to use English to communicate with other professionals.

Example, the most famous Open-Source projects, the documentation, and the code are made in

English, so it’s important to have a good level of English. On the other hand, it’s also easier to

search information in English than other languages.

English Dictionary - Offline

English Dictionary-Offline is an app for Android, and you can find it in Google Store for free.

This app is favorite to search words in English, because it’s a dictionary with many functions

example:

● Words have different meaning

● Has pronunciation apart

● Bring synonyms and antonyms

 ● Translate

I recommend using this to search for words in English that you couldn't understand and use the

translation part like the last option if you really don’t understand. First try with the meanings, or

synonyms and antonyms

To finish my presentation, I am going to give some tips that can be useful to increase your

English.

➔ Put your devices in English. This is going to increase your vocabulary and you will be in

constant contact with the language. So put your computer, cellphone, or console

videogames in English to start.

➔ Try to watch series or anime in English. If you try, you will feel more familiar with the

language, and you can learn how to pronounce different words.

➔ Try to think in English. You are going to practice speaking in English in your mind

therefore this will increase your fluency.

➔ Write your notes course in English. This is a challenge because you need to implement

technical vocabulary in that. So, this will be good to learn new vocabulary.
