In the Philippine education setting, students generally attend school

for eight (8) hours. There are also other students who spend more than 10
hours in school. However, despite being having a long length of time spent
in school, it isn’t producing any positive outcomes. In a report of Program for
International Students Assessment (PISA), it was revealed that the
Philippines got lowest for reading comprehension among 79 nations in the
world and second lowest for Mathematics and Science. The report reflects
the current education system in the country which includes the long school
hours and, in the report, it can be infer that having a long school hours is not
efficient. If having long school hours is efficient then how come the results of
PISA ended up to be like that?

OBJECTIVES
This study seeks to determine the correlation of long
school hours and learning efficiency of a student by
focusing on the following objectives:

1. To determine the level of relationship between the length of

hours spent in school and learning efficiency.
2. To determine the significant relationship between the length
of hours spent in school and learning efficiency.

METHODS

This study will use the Quantitative Correlation Research Design. This study
will gather quantifiable information and will be used for statistical inference.
High School and Senior High School students of Panabo City National High
School (PCNHS) will be the participants in this study. The researchers will
use a sample size of 200 students. Participants will answer a questionnaire
that asks for information regarding their learning in school and how many
hours they spend in school. This data gathering will be executed through
Google Forms (GForms). The data that will be collected will be tested using
a statistical test, Pearson (Correlation Coefficient) r to demonstrate whether
the mentioned variables have a relationship or correlation. Frequencies,
Percentage, Means, and Standard Deviation will be used and will be

compiled and analyzed using Statistical Software (SPSS) for data analysis.
TIMELINE OF THE STUDY
This research Is anticipated to be completed in 17 weeks. The length of
how long each section of this research will take to finish is displayed
