1.

What are the factors why many Filipinos resort to drug addiction and explain each factor you
identified?
Drug addiction, also known as substance use disorder, is an illness that affects a person's brain and
behavior and causes them to lose control over whether or not they take drugs or medications,
whether they are legal or not. Alcohol, marijuana, and nicotine are examples of substances that are
regarded as drugs. If you are hooked, you might use the drug even when it is harmful. Drug abuse
can begin with the occasional recreational drug usage that some people engage in in social settings
before developing a drug addiction. Others experience drug addiction when they take prescribed
medications or get them from those who have prescriptions, especially when it comes to opioids.
Each substance has a different level of addiction danger and speed of addiction development. Some
medications, like opioid pain relievers, have a higher risk and more quickly lead to addiction than
others. As time goes on, you might require higher drug doses to feel high. You might eventually
require the medicine just to feel decent. You could find that it gets harder to abstain as your drug use
rises. When you try to stop using drugs, you could experience severe cravings and physical sickness.
We refer to this as withdrawal symptoms. You may overcome your drug addiction and maintain your
drug-free lifestyle with support from your family, friends, support groups, your health care physician,
and an organized treatment program.
2. What should the government and the community do to eradicate drug abuse in the country?
With the help of alternative development initiatives, policy development, preventive education,
research, treatment, rehabilitation, and reintegration, as well as collaboration with regional and
international organizations and peers, we can help people resist the allure of drug usage.
3. Do you think Tokhang, as an initiative of the government during the Duterte Administration, helped
or worsened the drug situation in the country?
No I don't think tokhang made this country worsened the drug situation in the country because
everything was right and ordered properly. Drug addicts can't stop using drugs because they already
made it a habit or maybe part of their life. Drug users and addicts have no choice because if they
wont stop, they will be killed. Best part of it is they have been given a chance to renew their own
lives. The government officials will not do such things if they will just stop using drugs not unless
they get killed.
