Last spring, while walking around in the forest, I spied a beautiful bunch of ripe grapes hanging from a vine trained along
the branches of a tree. The grapes seemed ready to burst with juice, and my mouth watered as I gazed longingly at them.
As the famous quick brown fox, I was going to swiftly snatch the grapes and share them with my family in the jungle.
The bunch hung from a high branch, and I had to jump for it. The first time I jumped, I missed it by a long way. Then, I
walked off a short distance and took a running leap at it, only to fall short once more. Again and again I tried, but in vain.
After dozens of failed jumps, I sat down and looked at the grapes in disgust. "What a fool I am," I said. "Here I am wearing
myself out to get a bunch of sour grapes that are not worth gaping for." And off I walked very, very scornfully.

Last year, my husband, and I toured the cold Northern European countries of Norway and Sweden (1), where we indulged
in the Nordic snow, cuisine, and natural beauty. For this year’s summer holiday, we tried to do something different. After
we had planned the itinerary we took a road trip across the opposite side of Europe: Spain (2). We traveled from the north
side of the country to the south.
The first stop on this grand tour was the beautiful Basque Country. After a quick tour of a replica of the Cave of Altamira
(access to the original cave is severely restricted to preserve the prehistoric paintings), we enjoyed our first meal in Txoko,
an acclaimed seafood restaurant in the fishing village of Getaria. Then: we spent our first night in the charming seaside
village (3).

The next day, we went to Sos del Rey Católico, a beautifully preserved medieval town, before we continued south to
Prejano, a village famous for its cuisine (4). From there, we traveled deeper into La Mancha — Don Quixote country —
where we dined at a restaurant and hotel in a converted 16th century convent.

Finally, before we headed back home we went to Andalusia to finish our coast to coast odyssey (5). We had a traditional
tapas feast of serrano ham, grilled prawns, anchovies and artichokes in El Refectorium, one of the city’s best-loved
restaurants.

And now we’re back home in Germany! It feels so good to be home again. Traveling Spain for a week gave our skin a
really nice tan. Although we enjoyed the summer heat, I really prefer the sub-zero temperatures of Norway and Sweden
more.

Taylor Swift is one of the biggest names in music. She’s creative, beautiful, and popular among every age group. I’ve been
following Taylor for over 8 years now.

Back in October, she held this sweepstakes called the Swiftstakes. I entered my code that came with the album I bought, not
thinking anything about winning. Well, two days later I get this email from Taylor’s team informing me that I had been
selected to win the Grand Prize, which consists of a short meet and greet session and two concert tickets. I was ecstatic!

Six months later, it’s concert day. My dad and I drove up to Louisville, Kentucky, for the show. It was quite a long trip from
home. …. Once we got to the concert venue, we stood in line after line after line. I think I was more nervous to meet her
than I was for any performance I’ve ever done.

The security escorted us backstage and informed us that we had to leave all items (phone, wallet, purse, gifts) on a table,
and we weren’t allowed to take any pictures. They escorted us in and we were greeted by Taylor. She immediately gave
both of us hugs. She thanked us for coming all the way from Knoxville to the show, and the three of us had a short chat.

While my dad and I were talking to her, the security told us that our time was up. As my dad and I were walking out, we
received her signed pictures and she thanked us again for coming. And I just remember turning around one last time and
she said “Thank you so much for buying the album!” Taylor was genuinely one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.

Two hours later, the concert itself began. It was superb. Taylor played for two straight hours, and she was energetic
through the entire thing. I have no idea how she did it. My dad and I were tired about three quarters of the way through,
and I wasn’t even the one bouncing around on stage! It was one of the best nights of my life.

When my younger sister and I visited Batu Bolong beach, we drove through Jalan Gunung Agung, Jalan Raya Canggu and
turned left onto Batu Bolong beach road (1). We still saw a lot of rice fields, local community housing, and villas.
Restaurants, guest house cafes, spas, and shopping places were also seen on the side of the road. Beside that, we also
passed a children’s playground named Taman Segara Madu Water Park.

As soon as we set foot in the Batu Bolong Beach sand, we could see a long stretch of beach shoreline (2). Possibly the
beach stretched as far as 2 kilometers. Anywhere I walked, I saw that there were many sunbeds for rent (3). I also saw
many small shops on the beachside selling roasted corn and soft drinks. From the left side of the beach, I heard music
coming from Old Man’s Bar.

After we rented two surfboards, we rode the waves with some foreigner tourists (4). Unfortunately, because it was getting
dark, …. We hated the interruption but we immediately followed the instruction for our safety. We spent the rest of the
evening watching the sun set. Since my sister is a photographer, she took many beautiful pictures of the sunset (5).

By the time the clock struck 7PM, we were enjoying local cuisine for dinner at the aforementioned Old Man’s Bar. I had
satay while my sister had nasi jinggo. We were going to visit some shopping malls after that, but we were way too tired
from surfing. So, we went to our hotel in Denpasar instead, to end the fantastic day.
