Truly an iconic signature, the front grille
has been developed into a more dominant
feature. Exer ting greater influence on the
overall design, it is the source from which
the body’s form and sur face lines emanate,
a n d a p o we r f ul s y m b ol o f t h e e x t e n t t o
which DB11 ha s move d the game on.
The clamshell bonnet is a continuation of
this fearless design philosophy, succeeding
t o r e c o n cile t h e c o nf lic t ing d e man d s o f
s t yling an d s t ringe nt p e d e s t rian s af e t y
le gislat io n.
It s wraparound form minimises unsightly
shut-lines for a pure, sculptural quality not
seen on other cars. Its size means it is also
exceptionally effective at dissipating energy,
negating the ne e d for space - consuming
p e de strian safet y systems that would
compromise DB11’s crisply tailored lines.
The clamshell provides delight ful theatre,
hinging for wards to reveal a sp e c t acular

power ful DB production model in Aston

dynamic, reaching 200 mph, with 62 mph
