Lab Assignment 01 - Use of photoshop Tools.

Exercise 01: Use of Magnetic Lasso Tool.


Create the right hand side image, combining given images and using different effects.

1. Open Photoshop CC  File  Open (Open the images to photoshop)


2. Separate the image of the lady from the background using Magnetic Lasso Tool.
3. Copy and paste the separated image to the given background.

4. Duplicate the pasted layer as a mirror layer (by right clicking the layer)
5. Select the mirror layer and go to, Edit  Transform  Flip Horizontal.
6.Then you can change the brightness and contrast according to your preference.
Exercise 2:

1. Use Lasso tool to crop the image from its background.


2. Right click on “Lasso Tools” & Select the appropriate sub tool of your
requirement.
3. Drag the marker around the path which needs to be crop
4. Paste the cropped image on the background image which provided.

 Use of Type Tool


1. Right click on the top of the type tool and select the appropriate sub tool for the
specific requirement.
2. Click the Horizontal, Type Tool and draw a rectangle on the desired surface
area.

3. Adjust the font type/ size using the provided tools.


4. Once finished, click the “Apply Button” to make sure it’s applied to the surface.
 Use of Layer Styles

1. Click on the layer styles.


2. Select the styles(Outer glow/ Inner glow)

3. Adjust the settings as per the requirements. (Automatic preview)


4. Final Image
Exercise 3:
Create VegtMan using Selections, Transformations.

1. Open a new file (File New)


2. Edit details according to your preference.

3. Make a gradient background.

5. Now you can separate below parts using Lasso Tools and you can mirror images using,
Edit Transformations.


Exercise 4:
Transform left hand side image to next image.

1. Create a new file.


2. Color the background using Paint Bucket Tool.
3. Drag and drop the original image.

4. Select eclipse area using Elliptical Marquee Tool.


5. Bring the original layer down and bring up the background.

6. Go to, Select  Modify  Feathers. (Feather radius = 15px)


7. Go to, Select  Inverse

8. Remove the middle part using Move Tool and Deselect using, Select  Deselect.

Exercise 5:
Remove red eyes and fill the missing tooth.

I. Remove Red Eyes


 Select Red Eye Tool.
 Click and drag a box around the subject‟s eye with
the Red Eye Tool
II. Fill the tooth.
 Select Clone Stamp Tool
 Press the Alt key then click on a sample area right of
the centre and bottom of the tooth.
 Insert new layer and paint on it.
 Set the tooth on correct place.

 Select „Lighten‟ in blender options.


Exercise 6:
Whitening the teeth.

 Select the Lasso Tool


 Draw a selection around the teeth.
 Add a “Hue/ Saturation Adjustment” layer.
 Change the edit option from master to yellows.
 Lower the saturation (for my image, a Saturation value of around -80 works well).
 Change the edit mode back to master.
 Click on the lightness slider and begin dragging it towards the right (a lightness value of
around +40 works well).
 Select the Brush Tool.

 Set your foreground colour to black (Shift + X).


 Paint around the teeth to clean up the area.
Exercise 7::
Remove acnes from the face.

 Increase the image size.


 Select Spot Healing Brush Tool.
o Set the brush type to Content Aware and
o Click the option for Sample All Layers.
 Use a similar brush size to the actual pimple or blemish you are trying to remove.
 Click on your blemishes and watch them disappear.
Exercise 8:
Change the background according to the given image.

• Select the Magic Eraser Tool.


• Remove the background by clicking background area. (Keep the
tolerance value 20 or below)
• Select the Erase Tool and remove the rest of the background
area.
• Add a new layer.
• Select „Place Embedded‟ menu item and select the background image.
• Adjust the background image and „Place‟ it.
• Drag and put the first layer on to the new layer.
