1) As an “unsinkable” luxury ship.

2) That happened only because the ship hit the iceberg and in cause of natural events.
3) Since the captain saw no reason to slow down, and the owner of the ship, Bruce
Ismay, had also instructed the captain to speed up in order to break the record for a
transatlantic voyage.
4) Because the captain didn’t receive the message of the ship Mesaba, informing about a
large amount of icebergs in the area.
5) Because on the night of the accident there was no moon, no wind, as well as no
binoculars, so it was harder for them to see the iceberg.
6) Because the regulations about the number of lifeboats a ship could carry were already
out of date when the ship set sail, as well as wouldn’t have been enough boats to save
everybody.
7) That he didn’t think the distress flares were important.
8) His crew hadn’t woken their radio operator, being off for the whole night and disabled
to know about Titanic’s situation.
9) He shouldn’t had let an unprepared ship sail and absolutely shouldn’t had asked to
speed up the ship, but unfortunately a lot of owners had done and do these things
constantly and their ships never were in an accident like this, so i guess it was a little
bit of bad luck to everything go wrong, but I'm not taking his responsibility out of this
for sure.
