Introduction
College students are at a critical period where they will enter adulthood. They are expected to
be the elites in the society. Thus, they expected to enhance their stress management abilities
so as to live a healthy life after entering the society. For college freshmen, they need to not
only adapt themselves to the new life and new environment but also be familiar with many
new people, events, and things. The life stress on them is considerable. Therefore,
understanding the sources of stress among them and how they can cope with the stress is
very important. Leaving the family home, feeling intense pressure to obtain high grades in
connection with career aspirations, taking final exams, trying to establish a social life, dealing
with (often very high) costs of college and possibly working at a job during the school year.
What kind of jobs (if any) students can get after college also remains tenuous given the multi-
year recession.

Problem statement
To find the various factor effecting the stress among college student and how they manage to
cope with it .

Literature review
According to New York Times , Huffing-ton post, stress among college student has been
getting lot of attention nowadays. It became very vigorous in 1980 . When student enters into
college life they go through many problems . According to a survey titled “Depression among
Adolescents in Taipei Area” conducted by John Tung Foundation (2004), 84.2% of the
surveyed adolescents have experienced depression, 15.3% reported that they feel depressed
almost everyday, and 33.6% said that depression occurs to them once a week. In terms of
stress sources, 56.7% of them considered that their depression comes from school stress,
50.9% thought that their depression is caused by interpersonal relations, and 45.6% attributed
their depression to academic tests.

Methodology

A qualitative method will be used in this research . A questionnaire will be prepared containing
20 question asking the reason behind individual stress . A sample of 50 student will be taken
of age group 18 – 25 . The survey will be conducted in NIFT college .

Expected result
Through this research various aspect behind the stress will be known . Among all major
factor will be known which effect stress the most. What student do to cope up with the
problems behind stress. How do they manage when they are under stress .

Despite the widespread use of social media by students and its increased use by instructors,
very little empirical evidence is available concerning the impact of social media use on
student learning and engagement.

Problem statement :
To know the effect of social media on college student . Whether it is effecting in positive way
or in negative way .

Literature review:
Despite the widespread use of social media by students and its increased use by instructors,
very little empirical evidence is available concerning the impact of social media use on
student learning and engagement. The paper describes how social media is f can impact
college student in their academics and grades. In the other paper its said that Social network
sites (SNSs) allow individuals to present themselves, articulate their social networks, and
establish or maintain connections with others. These sites can be oriented towards work-
related contexts , romantic relationship initiation connecting those with shared interests such
as music or politics or the college student population . Participants may use the sites to
interact with people they already know offline or to meet new people. The online social
network application analyzed in this article, Facebook, enables its users to present
themselves in an online profile, accumulate “friends” who can post comments on each others
pages, and view each others profiles. Facebook members can also join virtual groups based
on common interests, see what classes they have in common, and learn each others’
hobbies, interests, musical tastes, and romantic relationship status through the profiles.

Methodology
A mixed method is used in this research . The survey will be conducted on student of NIFT
college . The age group of 18 – 25 will be focused. Survey will be conducted based on a
questionnaire . Sample size will be of 20 people.

Expected outcome:
