Google Now

Google Now proactively presented information to users in the form of informational cards, predicting
what information they might need based on their search history and other criteria. Although the Google
Now brand is no longer utilized, the functionality is still available in the Google app's discover tab.
Google Now was first included in Android 4.1 ("Jelly Bean"), which was released on July 9, 2012, and was
first supported by the Galaxy Nexus smartphone. Google gradually phased off references to "Google
Now" in the Google app, eliminating the majority of "Now" references in October 2016, as well as
replacing Now cards with Feed. Google Assistant, a new intelligent personal assistant that is in some
ways an extension of Google Now, was unveiled at Google I/O 2016.
