Comparatives

 Short adjectives (1 syllable) = -ER (+than)


Example: Athens is older than Rome.

Short adjectives ending in cons + vowel + cons, we double the last consonant.
Example: Brazil is bigger than Argentina.

 y adjectives (1 syllable) = -ER (+than)


Example: English is easier than French.

Long adjectives (2 / 3 / 4 syllables)


Example: The train is more expensive than the bus.

Exceptions:
